August 2010 Code watch

For the record, if you are planning on canceling your trip if you don't get a code or pin, or free dining, or whatnot.. don't book it.

If you book, you send the message you will be attending. You set up a chain of purchases fand expences based on your plans.

For example, you throw a house party, and invite 20 friends, and all 20 show up.. when your friends say they will be coming, you purchase more food, more drink, more plates, more everything. Then three days before, all your friends cancel. You are still out all that money.. same thing with Disney..

Great sense of humor....
all that person is saying (I think) is "they" believe that Disney will see ALL these bookings of people so they perhaps won't offer the Free dine (cause its so booked) or any other promo. So, don't book..... to increase the chance since they'll want to fill those rooms.... :confused3

I read it as meaning you are not being fair to Disney by booking and then cancelling because they don't have an offer. Disney orders a set amount of stuff based on occupancy and it will go to waste due to those not going. I disagree, if that is what they are saying, but that is the way I took it. :confused3

I'm definitely going! I'm just hoping for a better deal for annual passholders. And, those rates haven't come out yet. So I wait......

I can't afford to go agin this year !! Sad but true !! However I may get to go as an escort to the disabled for FREE! IF they offer a bounce back then I intend to use it as we are definately going Aug.2011!! I am hoping the bouceback includes free dining !!!

Awesome we may cross paths we'll still be there around that time. I See you live in Boca! We are in Wellington :)

Cool! :)

My brother lives in Wellington.

We are going 8/26-8/29, staying at the Beach Club. We are going to the Epcot Pin Celebration and wanted to be close to the back entrance of Epcot.

P.S. We leave tomorrow for a long WDW weekend. This time we are staying at POP Century.

We normally do the long weekends a couple times a year but this year we wanted to save and save to have one major vacation! We are going August 20-22nd at the Hard Rock in Universal and than 22nd-30th at the Polynesian (if they come out with the darn passholder rates already!!) Have a great time this weekend!!

Still waiting for FR- but I have a feeling it will not be coming out this year.. They seem to have extended to Visa card holders the:

Kids Eat and Play Free!
Valid for stays most nights 03/14/10 – 10/2/10.
Purchase a 4-night/5-day Magic Your Way package with the Quick-Service Dining Plan and kids age 3-9 will receive 5-day park tickets and the Quick-service plan for free!

We have no kids, just two adults. :sad2:

I know, I only have 1 kid eligible and I did the figuring and then we all would have to buy the quick service dining plan and after figuring our usual "grab whatever we like" and grocery store route, it actually almosts evens out, so that really doesn't help us, either.

Free Dining Promotion Released to the General Public

Disney is once again offering this great money saving promotion to guests booking a Disney vacation package between August 15 – October 2, 2010.

Book a qualifying vacation package at a Disney moderate or deluxe resort and receive the Standard / Plus Dining Plan at no extra cost. This dining plan includes 1 counter-service meal credit, 1 table-service meal credit, and 1 snack credit per person, per night of stay. Receiving this dining plan free of charge saves a family of four about $107 per night of stay, based on the regular cost of this dining plan. You can upgrade to the Deluxe dining plan and just pay the difference between the standard and the deluxe plans.

Book a qualifying vacation package at a Disney Value Resort (All-Star or Pop Century resorts) and receive the Disney Quick-Service Dining plan at no extra cost. The quick-service plan provides two quick/counter-service meals + 2 snacks per person, per night of stay. Receiving this plan at no extra cost saves a family of four about $85 per night of stay. You can upgrade to the Standard or Deluxe dining plans by paying the difference between the quick service dining plan and your preferred dining plan.

· Travel Dates: August 15 – October 2, 2010

· Minimum Requirements: Must purchase a package that includes three (3) Consecutive nights stay at a Disney Resort + at least 2-Day Disney Magic Your Way theme park Tickets.

· Must book by August 14th, 2010. There are a limited number of promotional packages available at each resort so book early to get your first choice in travel dates and resort.

· You must pay the $200 deposit at the time of booking with the balance due 45 days prior to arrival.

· Suites and campsites are excluded from this offer. The Cabins at the Fort Wilderness campground are included in the promotion.

· If you do not have us book this for you, be sure to tell the booking agent that you want the free dining promotion. They do not automatically apply promotions to new or existing reservations – you must specifically ask for the discount.

· Existing reservations falling within these days can be altered (subject to availability) to reflect the free dining promotion. Call and ask to have the discount applied – it will not happen automatically.

· Trip Insurance – The travel dates for this promotion fall within Florida’s hurricane season; consider purchasing trip insurance (either through Disney, your airline, or another insurance provider), especially if you have non-refundable, non-transferable airline tickets. Trip insurance is not usually a good value if you are driving.

· Dining Reservations – Book your dining reservations immediately. The free dining promotion has a serious impact on the number of available dining reservations and some restaurants may already be fully booked at certain times. Remember that we book dining reservations on your behalf (subject to availability) when you book your Disney vacation through Build A Better Mouse Trip.

I just called and saved $317.25 in late August at the Beach Club/Club Level with the below Summer rate.

I am still hoping for an Annual Pass or Florida Resident rate to save some more!

Code ID6. Summertime Savings of up to 40% Off

Stay dates: 8/15/10-10/2/10. Get a 30%-40% discount off regular "Rack" rates. Percent off varies by resort type. Use code ID6. Some dates will be blocked out. Rates not available for all dates and resorts.

Save 30% at Disney Value Resorts
Save 30% at Disney Moderate Resorts
Save 40% at Disney Deluxe Resorts
Save 40% at Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts
Note that you CAN add tickets and Dining Plan to this offer, effectively making this a vacation package. If you do this, your booking will probably fall under the vacation package rules. You must book room and tickets to get the dining package.
