I called the Comfort Suites office stateside and asked about being able to check-in early on the day of arrival in Nassau. Their check-in time is 3pm and we'll of course disembark the ship that morning. She said that there should be no problem with checking in or room availability at that time. So, I booked my room for a family of 4. She confirmed that we'd have full use of the Atlantis facilities for the most part.
Well, another family in our travel party calls the same office today to book their room and the reservationist tells her that it is highly unlikely that she'll have access to a room that early in the day. My friend doesn't want to book a room now and even has me worried about my own reservation.
We're doing the Labor Day Double Dip and as of a few days ago, the hotel only had a few rooms booked. Now, I'm wondering if I should cancel my reservation and do Atlantis another time. No way can I swing $620 for the Disney Aquaventure excursion! However, if I do cancel, my kids will be so disappointed. My daughter is so looking forward to visiting the place where her favorite Mary Kate and Ashley movie was filmed. Plus, I was looking forward to doing something fun to add that special touch to our trip.
We've decided that this will be our last Disney cruise until probably grandkids and that we're going to give RCCL a whirl due to the ages of our kids. I really want this trip to be a memory to last a lifetime and have that special something that makes it different from all the others we've done.
For those of you that have done Atlantis this way, please enlighten me as to your experience.
