Are you the only one who is INSANELY excited about your cruise(s)?

You all can count me in - I am as bad (if not worse) as I was before our first cruise in October 2000. For me, it just doesn't go away. I imagine that DH rues the day he said he would try DCL. He calls the DIS the 'dishboards'. Silly, silly man. Truth be told, he loves the cruise as much as I do, just not so much the planning, thinking, listing, dreaming, what-iffing that I like to do.

WE are on the Dream for a 3 night 9/8! We are on concierge level family staterooms!!!!! This is a HUUUUUUUGe splurge and upgrade from our last/first cruise on the magic in 08 (2 standard insides).:wizard:
My Hubby loved the 08 cruise (though he said the stateroom was claustrophobic and he has issues with small spaces so...), but he likes to "just showup" :boat:as he puts it.... My teens are excited but also happy to have me doing all the planning.:laundy:
I am making my own FE. My daughter did help me choose some cute little designs for pirate magnets for FE gifts...:tink:.pirate:
I hear the concierge level doors on the dream are not metaL!? Anyone know???
SSSSOOOEXCITED!

I thought I was the only one excited until I saw my dad grinning and whistling the Magic's horn tune and my mom practically bouncing off the walls today. We leave tomorrow!!! :woohoo:

Yep here!!! My kids are looking forward to it but they know the reality in how far away it is. My DH on the otherhand just thinks everything plans itself and does not help with the preplanning.

Yay, kindred spirits! Yes, I am the obsessive one in the house. Happily my dh is excited about our cruise as well, just not a obsessed as me :lmao: . When we went to Disneyland last year he was looking forward to it but his attitude was more 'it's for the kids'...This time, he feels the cruise is just as much for him as it is for the kids (and he's *really* looking forward to the martini tastings! :cool1:)

Once in a while he'll look over at my computer, see I"m on Disboards and just ask if there's anything new...then I take 15 minutes to update him on menus, activities, coffee cups (yes, coffee cups), iPod docks, on-board-booking perks, etc., etc., etc. He's a real foodie so he absolutely loves all the 'food porn' postings as well :lmao:

Know the feeling! taking my BF & BFS15 to Alaska in 2 weeks, their first disney cruise and BFS first cruise. Granted I have forced BFS to start packing I am the one so excited I can't stop thinking about what I have to pack, where are we gonna eat, what to expect at the port.... AHHHH there's so much to look forward to!! LOL I Can't wait and I hope when they get off the ship they will thank me for taking them.:yay:

Oh no! I am so sorry! But think of not having an app as part of your Twelve step program...now you will only have to have eleven! :thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hi, my name is Andrea, and I'm a Disney-a-holic..... ;)

Hey Stephanieann, my DH is the same way, we'll have to introduce them on the ship!

Luvdamouse -- I'm right there with you about thinking too much about the cruise while at work (I'm there now.... :rolleyes1) I noticed you live in KY too -- where? (Oh, maybe you shouldn't tell me -- hopefully we don't work at the same place! then again, at least then we'd have someone to share our obsession with! :rotfl:)

I am.....only because I'm going to surprise the fam with the news @ x-mas.......it's KILLING me!

Same here, DH & I have decided to surprise the boys!! First by taking them to the WDW & then the day we leave (just when they thought they were so sad)BAM!! Here comes the cruise ;)

Good luck to you,it will be the Best Chrismas Present! :santa:

You are not alone...Im taking my grandkids on our first cruise on the Dream in October and then to WDW...just about all I think about. I'm so glad to have found this forum...really helps with my need to plan...LOVE IT:thumbsup2

We are leaving in less than 3 weeks for Vancouver for our Alaska cruise, and I'm having a hard time not rupturing something I'm so excited. Our last Disney cruise was 2003 and I've wanted to go for a while. DW, DS and DM all want to go. They are just no where near as excited as I am! Well, DS(9) is excited... That he can have bacon every day for breakfast :)

Of course I've been this excited since I booked us on over a year ago...

Super excited about our cruise next month..especially since our cruise docs arrived today!!!!:banana: I've read where they don't come til a week or so before your cruise, but I guess times vary... I was sooo happy to get them today.

DD is more excited about going to Vancouver. Of course, it has something to do with us being Canucks fans stucks in Flyers territory!

 " I'm so excited for this cruise, that I'm afraid I'm going ...

TO CRY when I pull up and see the ship for the first time in October!" And will everyone think this mom is  for crying?

Ps..and on my last post, my 11 dd saw it and said: " Mom, I'm the other family member who's excited about this trip...forget about all the others:lmao:"

Sweet! When do you cruise???

Well I am the only one excited at my house, because I am the only one going!

DH response :"What you are going on a cruise with your sister? You never wanted to go on a cruise with me?" (well he never asked me to go on a cruise, only to ride his 40' "Gilligan's Island" boat all the way from FL to the Bahamas, to which I replied, "call me when you get close and I will hop on a plane and meet you there")

DD response : "What! I have to work! You are going without me? You know that is the peak of hurricane season, right?"

I am going on a cruise with my sister, and our "adopted sister" from Canada, just the 3 ladies this trip. This is also my first cruise. We are doing a double dip on the Disney Deam starting Sept 29th!

Now my sister hates to wear dresses, but we went to WDW for Memorial Weekend and when we got off the pirate ride, I insisted on buying us all matching outfits for pirates night on the cruise, you can't see the pirate ears too well in this picture, but they match the dress perfectly:

Happy Planning everyone!

Andrea! I'm from Louisville, born and raised! How 'bout you?

I'm at the other end of the state (straight down I-75, last town before you hit TN!) But we have family who live in Louisville! My aunt taught at PRP for years! Pretty cool -- what a small world!:thumbsup2 (Ok, Disney on the brain.... just had a flash of "It's a Small World After All".....) When are you cruising? (you probably already said, but I'm having a Blonde moment....)

Yes, Unfortunately I think I'm the only one who's going crazy over our upcoming cruise! We're cruising in February on the Dream. We booked a room for ourselves, and one for my cousin, his wife and their 2 little girls (who we consider our nieces) They've never been on a cruise before. Don't get me wrong, they are excited but they're also excited about the stay at WDW before the crusie. Also my mom has booked a cabin for herself and her boyfriend, and my brother has booked a cabin for himself and his girlfriend. But, I'm the one going nutsy over it! I made a dvd video for the girls that had photos/video of the Dream, Plus a preview of the Animal Kingdom Lodge (because we are staying there for 4 days before the cruise) and I put all music that is boat related, or caribbean related and mailed that to them. I've also been picking up things to give the girls for the cruise. I've picked up Minnie Mouse baseball caps when I was in WDW in May and sent them to the girls in the mail with a message saying these caps are for them to use in the strong Bahama sun! I've also picked up some other things for them that I'm going to keep until we get on the ship. The Disney shopping website had sunglasses for $2.50! So, I picked up a pair of sunglasses for them each (princess of course). Then I picked up really cute material to make bandana's for pirate night (from Walmart - it has little cartoon skull/crossbones but their eyes are hearts and they have little pink bows) as well as pirate eye patches and hooks for us all. I also picked up (at the Dollar store - I couldn't believe they had this stuff) Ariel floaties, Ariel beach ball, Ariel tube, ariel pale and shovel and Little Mermaid sand forms for my 4 year old niece who is all about Ariel lately. And the same for the 2 year old but princess themed (they have Belle, Cinderlla and Tiana on the waterwings, beach ball and pail and shovel and tube). MY DH thinks I'm crazy for already picking things up for a cruise that is not for 8 months from now. But, in the same token I'm not going to find beach toys and things of that sort in February! I live in MAINE! I've got a few week window of summer items!
