I did not see a new one started so I though I would start one.

Come one and come all to the April 2011 No buy thread. Whether it is your first time or are a sesoned vet join us all in reigning in our spending. All are welcome.

I hope to see a lot of familiar "faces" and some new ones this month.

Good Luck to all :thumbsup2:

I'm in, but will be back later to update the numbers. Off to work. Have a good day, everyone!

Oooh, it's April, so I'm hoping that the snows are pretty much over and I'll change my font colour to purple. ;)

As much as I would like to join this month, I know I will be way off target with my budget since we are doing DISNEY this month. But I will only buy vacation related items.

I'm in. I fell apart the end of March with planning my Dh's surprise party, but I will go back and finish and do better in April. I didn't do bad spending and no buys, just on recording that last week.

I am here again! I really would like to come in under $900, but I have to get my other car fixed this month, needs new rotors for sure, budgeting $500 for it.

March was my first attempt, and I fell off the wagon early. Trying again this month, since I'm also starting my new envelope budget.

Groceries: 0/$240
Fuel: 0/$48
Eating out: 0/$44
Entertainment/Hobbies: 0/$52

(This month is a tight, tight month because I need to rebuild my savings. We'll see if I can do it.)

Also, all purchases will be rounded up to the next dollar, and the change will go into our Disney Fund.

Thanks for starting the thread, Charming23! Be back later, but it's already a buy day. I missed Wegmans too much! Plus, I just called Comcast and asked to reduce my rate, saving $35 per month for one year. We like cable and I need Internet for work and phone to call my mom.

With spring break and Easter, I'm reducing my no-buys to 10. Got 17 in March!

0/10 no-buys

4/1-$23 Wegmans, $2 McD

I'm back! Crunching our March #'s, we went OVER on groceries and household items, under on gas and entertainment, so I think we were not too bad. I didn't count on replacing a tire or having the plumber so that's part of the problem.

Anyway, I'm off on a spending spree with signing DS up for a week of summer art camp and getting him a subscription to BrainPop...I'll get to my budgeting and goals tonight as I have to work on my end-of-month evaluations for my tutoring kids today. Hoping for 10 no-buy days again as I don't count groceries...but this will NOT be #1 for sure!

OK Then..the plan for this month is to divide into categories and even count things I CHARGE..:gulp:
Budget for things not included in monthly bills:
$700 total
$100 Gas
$250 Groceries
$150 Entertainment/Eating Out
$100 Gifts
$100 Misc Household

I would like to try this for the first time. I read a bit of last month's thread so I hope I do this correctly. I am going to try for 10 no buy days. It will be tough because I work at Target and tend to buy little things when I 'm at work.

My mom went and got her haircut today for $15 (gotta love beauty schools). We also picked up some pictures that we had developed and used a coupon to save 40% on them.

Allrighty, I'm back and in for the month!! I fell apart at the end of last month. With moving and keeping track of 3 different houses, keeping track of my spending fell by the wayside. We're staying with my MIL for the month and most of our stuff is packed. I anticipate a few extra purchases when I discover something I need is packed and in storage :rotfl2:! I'll go for 10 no buy days this month and I'm posting a budget for the first time.

I got a raise in my new job, but I won't start getting paid until the 3rd week of April. I will have to make do with unemployment funds until then, so the budget is tight.

Starting off on a not-so-good note, as I had a very stressful day yesterday and have been looking forward to this dinner out all week!
