apart from a house or a car , what has been your most expensive purchase?

Ironically, i just printed out my son 1098-t

We paid over 23,000 for tuition this year alone.

I think that is the most expensive thing we have ever bought in our 27 years of marriage.
However, it was probably the best thing we have bought also :;)

If we are not counting College -

DVC &/or mausoleum (I think that's what they are called)

DVC, a boat, my husband is a musician so we have expensive instruments (that I don't play).

My TV, my laptop, my trumpet are all expensive toys.

But my most EXPENSIVE toy is my camera (including lenses).

Recently a spring in my couch broke (which opens the recliner, so now I have to pull it out) and I'm considering buying a new couch similar to it. Unfortunately what is a 20 year old hand-me-down may end up costing me $1,500 brand new, and it still won't look and feel as amazing as the one I have now.

Otherwise, all my money goes toward travelling. :)

Most to least:

A year of daycare for 2 kids
A boat
Disney trip

Vacations
Exercise equipment, esp. Pilates reformer
Stickley dining room set

1) Kids college (twice what our house cost)

2) Remodel of House (a hair more than the house cost 31 years ago)

3) Hot tub

Here's my top 10 aside from house and cars...

My first computer in 1995, $2499

Disney trip in 2010, $2400 total

Myrtle Beach trip in 2013, about $2000 total

Myrtle Beach trip #1 in 2011, about $1700 total

Current fridge, $1200

1983 Honda Nighthawk CB550SC in 2002, $1050

Heating oil first week of February from December 28th, $640

Panasonic Plasma 50", $700
