When i go to the Disney site it doesn't show any availability for the room i want in January. When i go to the AAA site, it shows availability with the AAA discount. How can that be? has anybody ever used AAA online? Any problems?
THANKS! :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure you need to be a AAA member. Also, when we checked in, we had to show our AAA card at Disney.

OK we are AAA members but for the life of me I can figure out how to look or book online. What site are you all going to. Whenever I go to my AAA site it brings me to quotes and I can't actually look at any inventory of Disney rooms. It drives me nuts that I see so many post about booking on AAA website. Please someone give me the right link:goodvibes

Call AAA- I think their offices are open in the am on saturdays. Ask if they have someone who is a specialist with Disney- dont know if they have one.....You can look them up on line or look in the phone book. I was really dissapointed when I used the online look up. I got the number to AAA 2 hours away. I didnt know we had an office 15 minutes from here. I would have gone down and worked with someone locally. But the office 2 hours away was just fine. Was defintely worth the AAA discount.

I am a AAA memeber, but i was just wondering if AAA lets me book a room Disney dosent show available, am i going to have any trouble getting that room when i get there? :scared:

I did AAA with an AAA travel agent and we did everything via phone calls and emails for my December trip and was very happy with them and the pricing unitl ... the Disney Visa promotion came out. I had reservered our rooms two months ago with AAA ... when I saw the Disney Visa promotion come out last week I called Disney and they were very nice. The person I spoke to recommended I get a reservation for the two rooms so I did ... it was a total of $400 savings over my already $250 savings with AAA. The next day I called AAA and I asked them if they could match the price and gave them the code for the discount. AAA said they would check and get back to me, but they could not do it with the reservation I already had :confused3 . So I missed their call saying they could but they couldn't do it without me telling them to do so. I called them back the next morning and when she went to do it there were no rooms available! Seems that AAA gets a block of rooms at the different resorts and when they're gone ... well they're gone. So I cancelled my AAA reservation for the higher price and now I am going through the Disney Visa discount.

OK Is the website some kind of secret:confused3

Will somebody please tell me the AAA website that you are looking at.

TO OP---I would think if you make a reservation and have paperwork Disney will honor that. I do know that if you go through AAA they are the only ones to change or alter your reservation and then you have to deal with them for things like Magical Express and I suppose you don't want a package because you are looking at room only. So Idealy it would be better to book through Disney CRO with a AAA discount, but if they don't have your room type, it would probably be just fine to book on the AAA website (if it really exists since I can't find it anywhere! ;)

OH and have tried calling Disney directly? AAA will have blocks of rooms, but I am not sure if Disney CRO has access to them. When you as for a room and ask if a AAA discount is available they will have to look for that. SO since it is on the mysterious website, it may be in Disney's Inventory marked for AAA discount. I would definitely call!

GOOD LUCK!

The reason there is availability on the AAA web site but not on the Disney web site is that there are separate "inventories" for TA's. AAA is probably guaranteed a certain number of rooms, and they still have some available.

Exactly. I would imagine there are a certain numbers of rooms reserved for AAA. Unless you are a AAA member, I wouldnt book it and expect Disney to honor the ressie....unlelsls of coursr you buy a membership before you check in =)

I'm a AAA member here in Florida and booked my "room only" reservation directly with WDW 2 months ago. I'd already reviewed the AAA website to make sure what the price should be & it was exactly the same as the website stated - we wanted a preferred room. Then I went to our local AAA office & purchased my tickets using my AAA discount. Can't wait to go now..........just counting down the days!!

I would also like to know how to lookup AAA room rates on line. I am a AAA member and have tried before, but Disney onsite hotels are not listed when I have tried.
Anybody have information on the web site and ability to lookup AAA rates online? Thanks!

This is the only way I've been able to find it:

On AAA home page, click on the "travel" tab

On the next page, click on the "hotel" radio button

Fill in your dates, and in the city section, type "disneyworld"

Scroll down to the Optional: Hotel Chain section and go through those hotels until you see "Disney World Resorts" and select that one. Click on the submit button at the bottom of the page, and hopefully you'll get a laundry list of what is available on-site. You do have to be a little savvy about the rack rate vs. the AAA rate because they don't make it apparent when they show the rates.

Interestingly enough, last Sunday I just reserved a room for my January trip . CRO said the only value available at the AAA rate for my dates was ASMu, so I went ahead and booked it. Now I see that all of the values are available at the AAA rate except for Pop Century. Hmmmm.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Here is an address of a AAA agent that is very happy to help Disboarders.
I live in Ohio, she is in Maryland. I sent email, told her everything I was looking for, within a day she wrote back with my quotes. When it came time to book I called her. Feel free to email me with any other questions.

Thanks Izzy, I did finally get the Disney Hotels to come up, but now I can't really tell if there is an AAA price. They look like rack rates to me, so I don't know If I am doing something wrong. Do they actually tell you this is the AAA price?

Since I'm in Florida I use www.aaasouth.com for finding my Disney Hotels. I always check the Disney website to see what the price would be through them for that specific date & then price it out on the AAA website.

I also use Mousesavers (www.mousesavers.com). If you click on Walt Disney World, then Walt Disney World Resorts, and then on that page in the second yellow block you can find out what the room rates are for 2007 and 2008 without any discounts. Then go back and jump to the AAA discounts and it will tell you what % you get off at which type of resorts at what time of year.
