Any truth to this rumor about DL Paris?

I realize that this is a joke, but I have also heard that there are no fireworks now at DL Paris. Is there any truth to this?

NEWS ALERT

EURO DISNEY FRANCE - BANNED FROM USING NIGHTLY FIREWORKS

The French Government announced today that it has banned Euro Disney's use of nightly fireworks display. This ban came in to effect after numerous complaints from a local French Military Commander and the heightening of world tensions. Col. LaFett, local garrison commander, has filed his complaints stating that every night at 8PM local time when Euro Disney launches their fireworks display it is causing major disruptions at his garrison. It seems that when all the French solders under his command see and hear the fireworks display they immediately through down their weapons and surrender.

Anyone who worked on this side of the Atlantic for the Euro Disney project has many warm and fond memories of the e-mails describing Disney's wonderful ally on the endeavor.

Before the delightful Ms. Sara locks this thread and banishes all of us, let me share just a few of the old question and answer sessions:

Why are all the streets to Euro Disney lined with trees?
The Germans like to march in the shade.

Why do the French not like Disney movies such as 'The Rescuers' and 'Tron'?
Because the good guys win in the end.

What's the one show at Euro Disney for which the French need no training?
The flag lowering ceremony.

Why is there no submarine ride at Euro Disney?
The French Navy didn't want to be outgunned.

Why was 'Tomorrowland' changed to the funky Jules Verne 19th century 'Discoveryland'?
Because France has no future.

Actually, I was curious because someone told me that they aren't doing fireworks; I was hoping for the real reason.

I meant no disrespect, I even prefaced my post with "I realize that this is a joke"

I was not meaning to offend, MS Sara please don't think ill of me.

While I doubt that there is much substance to that particular story, DLP has been having problems with their fireworks off and on because of complaints from local residents.

This problem was addressed many years ago, and led to the creation of the show that they run during the summer called "La Feu de la Fee Clochette" or "Tinker Bell's Fantasy in the Sky". The show that runs at DLP uses no of the big bang high in the air fireworks. It uses some great stuff that stays around the castle as to keep the neighbors happy. The show's music is all from PETER PAN, and has a fantastic beginning when you see Tinker Bell fly around the castle (as a pyro effect), then she flys over to the Adventureland entrance, and there is a lighting effect that happens there....then she flys back over the castle to the fantasyland side entrance, and there is a pyro hit...then you see the "live" Tinker Bell fly UP to the castle (not down a wire like we see...she goes up into the castle there). Overall it is a great show.

It is true that the park is limited on its pyrotechnic displays..they have a certain number of days a year they are allowed to do a show...which is pretty much only during the summer months.

Thanks YenSid1222, I guess when DW and I go to DLP we will have to check when the show is. Do you know where we can find out the dates?

You should be able to get information from the official Disney site. There is a link to it from Disney.com

I believe the reason for the possible banning of the 8pm fireworks show was due to the following reasons:

1. They were running low on white flags
2. The soldiers were exhausted from surrendering every night.
