Any other night owls?

My wife and I will be taking our first DCL cruise on the Fantasy in September. For whatever reason, while most people get wiped out from the sun and sea air on a cruise, I am the total opposite. Cruises usually invigorate me and I have no issues being awake until 4AM (I try to go to bed earlier but I just can't fall asleep) and waking up at 7AM, still feeling like I just slept for 12 hours. On other cruise lines, I don't have an issue finding somewhere to go, something to see, someone to chat with, etc.

So, with no casino and everything on the ship being shut down by midnight, what is there for a night owl to do or see after midnight?

TIA! :thumbsup2

The Tube nightclub is open until 2:00 am. That is pretty much it after midnight.

As stated the Tube will stay open until 2am with a DJ playing until then. After that nothing until morning 6am (?). Although we stay up until 2am I'm not a morning person and don't start moving until at least 10am so not positive on how early things start.

I have a similar problem, but in reverse. I fall asleep early, and wake up around 5. And most of the time, I am the only passenger that I see. I just walk around the ship, take pictures, and enjoy the sunrise. It is a little boring after while though. But at least I get shots like this.

we were up until about midnight every night in April but it is pretty quiet even that early. They were offering some late showings of movies on our cruise that started around midnight so that is always an option. They were some of the more adult or PG13 movies that late. Our room was near the movies theatre so we walked by on our way to bed and could hear the previews starting. You might be able to play goofy golf at 2am. I know when my son was 2 1/2 he would wake up between 530 and 6am and we would go up and play golf or walk around the open decks until Cabanas opened.

Well, after the nightclub shuts down at 2 am, I think the only thing left to do is watch the cleaning crews popcorn::

The nightclub and a bar or two will be open, but after the evening show/late seating dinner wraps up, that's about it. There's not much going on. As a fellow night owl (maybe it's a NY thing), it's my #1 checkmark in the negative column for DCL.

Can't speak to the Fantasy, but on the Magic the ship was pretty much empty after about 10:30 pm. As west coasters who were still sort of on home time, we were routinely up until 1 or 2 am ship time, and other than enjoying the decks, there just wasn't much organized to do.

Funny, my first cruise on another line, the night club didn't even OPEN until 1:30.am, and stayed open until 5 am. :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Yeah, not much to do after the clubs close. Like others have said, the cleaning crew is out and maybe you'll walk past another night owl but that's pretty much it. I usually make myself a chamomile tea, walk around the ship for a while and then head back to the cabin. Last cruise I took they were offering the discounted internet package so I signed up and did the same thing I do at home. I browsed the internet until I fell asleep. :p

Also, if you have a verandah it's also a great time to "join the verandah club" or renew your membership. ;)

I consider myself a night owl as well and I really don't need that much sleep either. My late nights on the ship vary but typically involve haning out in the pool/hot tub until they close it up, change and make my way over to one of the clubs/bars to people watch (I'm not much of a drinker) or maybe even catch a late night movie in the theatre. I also like exploring the ship and taking pictures of areas that are completely empty. I will sometimes find myself going for a jog on deck and finally I may even catch up on a movie in my stateroom. My days and evening are full and I feel I accomplished a lot during my cruises.

What time do they usually close the hot tubs? IMO, they should only be closed for a few hours (say 3-6am) for cleaning. However, I'm betting they probably close them by 11pm.

I am not sure of the time they actually close the hot tubs but 11pm sounds about right. It would be nice if they only closed them for cleaning.
