I am sure this has been asked and answered, but....AP's good for one year from purchase or a year that starts in say June? Is the Halloween party included or is that an extra expense? Waterparks are included?

1 year from ticket purchase date or Certificate turn in date.
Halloween and Christmas parties are not included.
Water parks are on the Premium pass which is now on sale for 399.00 to DVC members

If you buy or activate a AP in June it will be good for a full year. Halloween parties and Christmas parties are an extra ticketed admission. Waterparks are extra with a regular AP but you can get a Premier AP that gets you into The waterparks and DisneyQuest and more. If you are a DVC member you can get the new perk, $399 for a premier AP. You can only buy them between Oct 1 and Dec 31. You can get them through MS and activate them whenever you want, say June.

AP is one year after you pick up the pass which you can only do when at WDW, i.e., purchase by phone or on-line in advance activates nothing and you can wait forever before actually getting and activating the AP you have purchased over the phone or on-line. The AP gets you entry only to the theme parks for one year. However, it usually has additional perks including $4 off the ticket price at waterparks and Disney Quest. The Premium Annual Pass (PAP) which usually costs significantly more than the AP gets you entry into theme parks, waterparks and Disney Quest. One of the additonal perks of the PAP is that you get 20% off any merchandise purchases at Disney stores at WDW. AP gives you only a 10% discount at a couple of select locations at Downtown Disney.

Between now and end of Dec 2012 a DVC member can buy a PAP for $399 which is actually less than the price of the AP with the DVC discount. If you purchase that discounted PAP over the phone, you must pick it up and activate it by Dec 31, 2013.

One small correction.. The AP discussed above is the Premium not "Premier" The Premier costs around $800 and gets you access to the parks in California as well. There is NO discount on Premier
