Animal Kingdom Fans ONLY!

AK Help?!?

Going back in September.
:cool1:
About how long should I plan for for Conservation Station and Affaceiotn Section, including the train ride over and back and Habitat, Habitat?
We have a 11 DS and 5 DD. It looks very interesting, but park hours when we go are only 9-5, and there is so much to do. We want to experience it, but don't need to dwell too long.

Is 2 hours too much? Too little? Just right?

Yep, I would plan on about 2 hours, but you might be quicker if you catch the trains just right. My 20 year old spent two hours watching animal surgeries alone. I just enjoyed the a/c! ;)

Another AK Touring related question (kinda).
We are Me, DW, DS11, DD5.
DD cant ride Whirl in Dinoland or DINOSAUR.
Can we get 2 FP for Whirl and 2 for DINOSAUR, and
let DW and DS ride DINOSAUR, and then use 2 Whirl FP for DW and DS and then use Child Swap and I ride again with DS on Whirl? (I guess, how many FP for Whirl would we need?)
:confused3
And if a train leaves Chicago for a 10:20 ADR at Chef Mickey's...

Another Animal Kingdom lover here. Of course we love animals so I guess it is expected. We like it for the atmosphere and the details. It does not need to be all about the rides. DD just turned 11 and she has been saying for 2 years now she wants to be a vet at the Animal Kingdom. Again, she is only 11 so we'll see if that lasts. If it does, great, because we are making the move to Florida as soon as she graduates from high school!:cool1: I get tired of the bashing too but it seems like everything at some point gets bashed on this site. That is life. That is why there is something different out there for everyone. The great thing is the people that don't like it....well, the less people in line. Works out for everyone.;)

Mark me down as an Animal Kingdom lover. My only complaint is that it closes too early. Definitely not a 1/2 day park. I think that makes me tend to rush through this park faster than I'd like. I've just got to slow down and if I miss something , I'll catch it next time.

Hi all. Ak is by far our favortie park..so much so that we are staying at AKL this trip. My big gripe is way does everything guide book say it's not exciting for little ones!! 1st trip with our daughter when she was 2 and it was her favorite then and still is. :) In fact this trip is for her 6th bday and she wants to spend the day at AK!!!

I had no idea they performed that many procedures in one day! DH and I plan on going to AK the morning of the day we're doing MNSSHP for this very reason. I hope we are lucky enough to see a few (I hope that doesn't sound bad - its not like I wish illness/injury on the animals!).

Should we plan on going here as soon as the park opens? I heard they are usually done by noon.

We decided we would visit Disny on the 4/3 plan - when I called to make reservations, it was the Vacation Specialist that sold me on AKL - daughter and I both love animals and we were both excited about visiting AK -- to actually stay at the lodge is very exciting for both of us - we can't wait!
