Angelrose's Journey

Awww....such a cute story :goodvibes! What a sweetheart Jesse is! Yes, no doubt he'll love his 2 new trucks for his graduation presents! Hope you share lots of photos too!! :)

I will probably write a mini trip report with pictures when I get back. I'll post it on the Community Board and link to it from here.

Hello Ladies! I've not been posting much, but reading posts on my I-pad and phone (it's just too difficult to post on those things!) I had composed a post to this thread on Friday afternoon when our power went out. So our power was out from 3-ish to 5:30, then went out again around 8 PM. That day was sooo hot - so that may be why the power went out (we never did hear why). Our power came back on just before 11 PM - we even went to Buffalo Wild Wings to cool off. Saturday was even hotter - over 100, but low humidity. By Sat evening, the winds did their usual and we got the Bay breezes & lovely fog.

Two more days of work and I'm off 'til late August - best part of working at a school.

Glad you're feeling better Angelrose. You must be looking forward to your vacation. Have fun meeting up with chell.

Thank you minniecarousel. I am so excited to meet chell.

My friend lives in Redding and she told me about your bad heat. Glad you got some relief and had a good dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. The one that just opened up here is terrible. Bad food and worse service.

The bags are all packed and waiting at the back door. I got some nice swimming in this afternoon. We are supposed to get a lot of rain tomorrow so no swimming for me until I get back.

I just have to get through tomorrow and my WW meeting. Not looking forward to that. I gained last week and hope I've done better this week. It's just hard for me to keep to the points now. Oh well, I will try and watch what I eat while in Tennessee, but I have a feeling that they won't have a whole lot of salads in Dollywood. But you never know.

See you all when I get back.

Have a wonderful time, be safe, have fun and tell us all about it when you get back!! :yay:

Hello my friends. I am back. We had such a wonderful time. So much fun. I have everything written up, but I need to type it up and download a bunch of photos. That will take a week or so. I have a mound of wash to do, put the last few things away, go to swimming lessons tomorrow and then vacuum the pool and maybe get an hour swim in. Monday I have to get the oil changed in the car. Maybe swim for an hour or so and then babysit again so that Chuck and Karen can have a last dinner with their friends who are moving out of state.

I also have about 20 hours of tv shows I had recorded while I was gone.

The food at Dollywood is so goood, but sooooo fattening. I must have gained 10 pounds! Everything is fried. We won't talk about the desserts. Our cabin was beautiful and very comfy for me. Not so much for Chuck and Karen. My bedroom was right above theirs and when I got up at night it sounded like I was in their room. No soundproofing at all. They even heard me snore. LOL

I just wanted to check in and say HI.

One disappointment was that I didn't get to meet chell. She couldn't make it. Maybe another time.

Will try and get something up this coming week.

So happy you had a good time and made it home safely. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Thanks snappyd. I have uploaded all the pictures in Shutterfly and I've started typing out the trip report. I may be able to start posting it by the weekend.

I had a fun day in the pool today. I took the cover off around 7am and was in by 8. I swam for an hour and 15 minutes. I came in and did a load of wash and watched some tv.

After lunch I was back in the pool for another hour and 15 minutes. It felt so good. But it does tire me out.

We had a small thunderstorm come through this evening and rained for about 20 minutes. Same thing is forecast for the entire week. I really need to get out there with the weed whacker. But it's been too hot to do that since I got back. Maybe by next week it will get back down to the 80's and dry for a couple of days.

I'll be unplugged for the next ten days, so HAPPY 4TH OF JULY to everyone!!!

:smickey::jumping1:pixiedust:

Same to you snappyd. Hope you have a great one.

Well, my weigh in tonight wasn't as bad as I thought. I only gained .2. Not bad at all. But I've really been trying to be good this week. There is no meeting next week because of the 4th. So I have an extra week to try and get back on track.

It was hot and humid here today. I sure got my swimming in.

Welcome back Angelrose!! Anxious to hear all about your fun trip, grands, Dollywood, and see pix!! :thumbsup2

Thankfully a lil breather at our place, 3 graduations and celebrations are over and DGD's dance recital was wonderful! My PT Nanny position carries throughout the summer also and we enjoy having our grands over couple days a week.....fun times :). Took them to see 'Monster University' this week and they really enjoyed. :goodvibes

Happy 4th AR, Snapppyd, minniecarousel, and everyone! Take care, have a happy and safe holiday! :wizard:

Saw your TR - great pix (as usual!) Your grands are so cute. Zoey is looking more grown up all the time.

We're in a heatwave. Day #5 at 100 degrees. We have a few more days of it. Our A's season tix are out in the sun, but we traded them in for shade seats last Sat. We may have to do that again for the 4th of July game. Oakland doesn't get as hot as we do, but sitting out in the sun in 80 degrees isn't pleasant either!

9 more days until New York!

Thanks minniecarousel. Zoey is so excited about her coming birthday. Of course, it is the end of August, but she is already telling mom what she wants at her party. She was wearing the little cupcake necklace I bought her and had to show me how pretty it looked on her. "It goes with my dress Grandmom". Now how does an almost 3 year old know what goes with what?? She is so funny.

We had a record breaking rainy June. We had rain again today, but it finally did clear up. Now we're heading towards our 3rd heatwave. Back up in the 90's again tomorrow through the weekend at least.

My pool will be getting a workout for sure.

Glad you liked the report and pictures.

I wanted to tell you all of something that happened on Father's Day night. After a fun filled day I had no trouble falling asleep.

I felt someone come into the bed with me. I mean I actually felt the bed move. I knew it was Ron. He had such a big smile on his face and he rubbed my arm like he always did. I felt it and I reached for him. I woke up then and smiled and said "thank you my love".

He always comes to me when I need him. I think he was happy that I was having such a good time.

I didn't want to post this on the report, but I wanted you all to know.

Hello everyone. I had fun today with the family. We went to see Monsters University. It was really cute and funny. We had lunch at the food court at the mall and got our Hallmark Christmas ornaments.

It was fun being with the family again.

My cousin called that he is back from Florida for the summer and we are going to have our family dinner on the 22nd. We usually have around 4 hours of nonstop laughs. I can't wait. It will be good to see all my cousins again.

Why do bad things always happen in the middle of the night? I was up at 3am to go to the bathroom when I heard the sound of running water coming from Ron's bathroom. UHOH! The floater thing in the toilet and broken off. Water was running and I don't know if there is a leak in the toilet itself or the pipe, but there was a wet spot on the rug.

I called Chuck this morning and he said he thought he could fix it tomorrow. I hope so. Try and get back to sleep with that going through your mind. Oh well, I did get another hour and a half of sleep before I gave up.

The heat and humidity today was the worst I've seen in many years. I did swim for an hour and a half this morning. By noon the outside temp was 102 and you could hardly breathe with the humidity. I swam for an hour this afternoon but it was too much for me. I didn't feel good when I came inside. I drank as much as I could and relaxed and I did feel better.

I really didn't want to go back outside tonight, but I needed to go to my WW meeting. I did lose this week which made me happy. It's a constant struggle.

Heat and humidity are still really bad. No storms to change it either.

I did go out this morning for my pancakes and got more chlorine for the pool. It's eating it up like crazy. I got a few other things and then came home. It was too hot to even think about going in the pool.

I babysat while Chuck and Karen did some shopping. I love putting the kids to bed. I always read them a story and then the hugs and kisses goodnight. It's fun and brings back memories when Chuck was a baby.

Going to help with the swimming lessons tomorrow. Maybe I can get in the pool tomorrow afternoon.

We are having the cousins dinner on Monday and I can't wait.

By the way, is anyone still reading? Hope you are all well my friends.

I'm here! We're still in New York visiting with our son & daughter-in-law. We were in NYC Monday -Thursday. It was HOT! We are not used to the humidity. We saw the Statue of Liberty, empire State Bldg, the 9/11 Memorial & the Museum of Natural History. We saw "Rock of Ages" & "Let it Be" . Enjoyed them both. We used the "Hampton Jitney" to get to and from Hampton Bays. Worked great. Son & DDIL had her family over today to meet us. It's nice to see the other family that my son has. I feel better now that I have seen his home and seen how happy he is here.

We go home on Tuesday. Not sure how I feel about that!

I've been reading, but responding on my I-pad is a little difficult!

(Mary, your experience on Fathers Day Night was sweet - it touched me.)

Hi Angelrose, I really enjoyed your vacation thread a all the fun you had :)! So glad to hear all is well with you/family and you're having a great summer. Loved reading about your visit from sweet Ron ^i^. I'm sure you'll enjoy your cousin’s fun catch-up dinner. :goodvibes

Sorry I have been MIA, but what a few wks we've had with summer turned upside down :(. Sadly my dear 84yo Mom's breast cancer has returned , she fought the beast 20 yrs ago and praise God won! Life has been full of specialist, biopsies, pet scan, doppler's, etc. with each dr and test leading to other health issues :worried:. We have another full wk of appts and testing ahead, and I pray we have some answers when we meet again with oncologist what surgery/treatment plan is in order.

I'm feeling so sad and helpless for my best friend I love so much :worried:. We're all keeping the faith, blessed w/supportive family, my hubbie is a gem helping us with transpo, and my sister is staying with her to help. I'll ck in later and update you, meanwhile sweetie, I'd truly appreciate if you could offer some positive thoughts and healing prayers for my Mom, Audrey, who needs a miracle :flower3:. Godspeed and thx so much. Big 's
