Am I still too big for Universal ?

Wow youre WAY smaller than I am and you were unable to ride ..Im wondering why :confused3 Do you lift weight and is very buff? How did you not fit ? My chest is 49 inches ...the largest part of my stomach is 49 inches as well...But my behind is more like 56 inches...Im so worried about all this wagon im dragging :sad2: My butt is really big . Im more worried about not being able to squeeze into the seat moreso than the three clicks.

Because there is no size that can and cannot ride.. It is called body dimensions because it cannot be measured in pounds or inches.

We were there last november. My dh was 6'5" and over 300 lbs. He couldn't fit into non modified seats the year before but in November he got 3 clicks on hpfj...the only problem was he could barely breathe. He made attendant let him off right before we started flying. He's a little bit under 300 now with our next trip around the corner. Fingers crossed!

You seriously should be so happy with yourself!! You've lost so much weight. Don't get discouraged if you still don't fit...use it and just work even harder.

I find trouble with rides at Universal because I carry my weight in my thighs, hips and butt. When I sat in the test seat for the Hulk the belt buckled fine but my butt was so tight in that seat I thought I would never get out of it. The width of their seats is definitely a problem!!

, I hope he has better luck this time:wizard:

Yes!!! Congratulations and keep trying, don't give up:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

First, let me congratulate you on your AMAZING weight loss!!!

What I have to say now may discourage you, and I'm so sorry if it does. I wear a size 22, and like you, and carry most of my weight in my lower body-- hips, thighs, butt.

Almost EVERY SINGLE RIDE was a big problem for me. Walking around that park was the most mortifying experience of my life- I'll never go back. Nothing is worth the utter humiliation I felt at having to ask for a special car on every ride (EXCEPT the Hulk, actually). The restraints wouldn't click down over my thighs.

And on HPFJ, I got into the test car and had my cousin push it down-- no problem. Then, I get onto the moving belt, she sits first without helping me click it down, and the ride attendant wouldn't help me click it down either. They had to STOP THE BELT to let me off. I don't really think I've ever felt that way in my whole life. I cried the entire time waiting for my cousin to get off, hiding my face so nobody would know that I was crying. I LOVE rides and amusement parks. Because I'm a coaster enthusiast, I've been to parks all over the country. I ALWAYS try the test car (because I obviously borderline fit into rides). Universal Orlando is THE ONLY TIME I've ever been kicked off of rides or needed extended cards.

This may not be your experience. My cousin wears a size 20, and her bras are size 38F, sometimes G... She fit fine. I wear 18/20 on top (I'm a 40B) and 22 on the bottom, and it was a no go. It's all about body dimensions.

I hope you fit into the rides and that you have a GREAT time. Just always use the test car... Good luck!

Congrats on your weightloss success!

We were at the parks a few weeks ago and IIRC, the magic number for a lot of rides was a chest size of 54". I didn't pay close attention and hope someone can confirm that for you. And, as others already said, there are some rides with modified seats.

I hope you can find more specific info and that you have a great time!

Are you saying you saw that posted somewhere at the park? They have height restrictions posted but I don't recall chest proportions restrictions.

I have never seen any restrictions on weight or chest size cause if they do then it's a new one on me and had to be done after we were there in June

Hello Everyone :goodvibes

Im making my very first visit to Universal Studios/IOA in roughly two and a half weeks . Im super excited! I've done Disney too many times to count and so im really looking forward to US/IOA !

Contrary to my screenname my buttery pants are a whole lot smaller and looser these days. A few months ago I weighed around 375 lbs and I wore a size 32 pants (womens). I didn't even realize I'd gotten that large until I went clothes shopping and couldn't fit anything in The Avenue! I was a complete sobbing mess !

I joined a gym on April 22nd and changed my eating habits drastically. I do grueling workouts for hours on end everyday . Today I weigh 320 lbs and I fit comfortably in a size 22 :cheer2:pixiedust::cheer2: . I was so excited over my weight loss I bought the ticket to US/IOA ..Now that im reading some articles online I'm really worried that I wasted my money and I'm still too large to enjoy the parks :sad1: It will make me so upset to not be able to fit HPFJ and some of the bigger coasters. I've never rode a big coaster before and I really wanted to overcome my fear and ride one.

Being as though I have a couple weeks left I plan on working out even more and i'm aiming to weigh around 310 pounds when I leave for our vacation . Am i still too large for US/IOA ? Im 6"1 320 pounds. Im very curvy and my stomach isnt a problem . My hips /thighs and butt is the largest parts of my body.

Im just really worried that I'll be spending the day walking around aimlessly because im too large to fit the main rides :sad1:

First of all, congratulations on the weight loss. I lost 120 pounds myself over the past few years and one of the greatest feelings was getting on the Hulk and being able to latch the safety bar myself instead of having 2-3 of the workers jumping up and down pushing it shut. The one ride that may still be an issue is the Hulk. I would try to get in row (I believe) 3 or 6 (there are two lanes with more room) and you may need someone to help but I would by all means go and have fun.

Yes, that's what I'm saying.

Might have been Sea World, but I'm pretty sure it was The Hulk or HP Roller coasters (Dueling Dragons? - I'm terrible at names). On the ride info board, the verbiage was something about "guests with chest sizes larger than 54" may not comfortably ride..." I think I noticed it because DS was 54" tall this trip. This was late July, early August.

Hopefully someone there now or soon can look and take a photo.

Interesting!!! Hopefully someone can confirm this soon!

I know what the poster is talking about. On the Hulk and Dueling Dragons, there are signs posted that if your chest size is greater than 52" then please sit in a particular row.

Yikes! that sure was discouraging ...I'm actually feeling quite down and dumpy right now. It was my son"s birthhday weekend and I've ate like a total oink at all three of his parties. I've put on three pounds. I leave on Monday and now I have to really bust my butt to atleast get back down to 318. I saw my family for the first time in a month and I got a ton of compliments about how much smaller I am and how my thighs look so much slimmer. I NEVER got compliments from them before so that was a really big deal for me. When I look in the mirror I can finally see with my own eyes how far I've came and how great I look now. I'm pleased so far but I still have a long way to go. I have an android phone so ill post on my universal day and let you guys know if I was able to ride HPFJ and the others. I have a two park pass so I just hope I can fit on atleast some attractions . I have both my fingers and toes crossed.

Can't wait for you to come back with some good news! You should be so proud of your accomplishments. Losing weight is such a difficult, difficult thing to do!

You should be able to ride tons of rides at universal. I think the hardest will be the over head harness rides. I wear a 16 and have big thighs/hips and was able to get on all rides.

Hulk row 3 and 6 are modified...I felt like they were a little too roomy...I was sliding all over the place. I think the same rows for dragons. Try and get the outer seat for FJ which should be easy if you are going through the solo line. There seems like there is a little more room.

Other thoughts...wear your slimmest shorts and empty all those pockets before riding to slim those hips the most. SLide all the way back into the seat and suck it in :rotfl2: It helps...I swear.

I hope you have a wonderful time and can ride all the favorites you are looking forward too. :thumbsup2

Super congrats on the weight loss! I know how hard that can be! I want to prepare you though, as i got quite a shock in Universal last month. I am 5'9", and had dieted down about 30 pounds before my vacation, which put me at about 230... I could NOT get on the HP Forbidden Journey ride, not even the modified seating. I cried for half an hour in Myrtle's bathroom afterwards. I don't mean to be a downer, but I want you to be prepared, just in case, so you won't be totally shocked like I was if you can't fit. Please make sure to have a blast either way!!! :)

I was thinking the same thing. I've been on FJ probably 100 times since it opened. It's my favorite ride at Universal. I am 5'6" and about 230lbs, carrying most of my weight in my belly, hips, and thighs. I've never been able to fit into the two middle seats, but can usually fit in the modified end seats. Sometimes the CM will have to help with a small push on the restraints and occasionally I can get that third click by myself. However, one trip there was a CM who refused to help anyone, saying he was not allowed to push on the restraint at all. I politely told him I had just ridden it three times in a row using the single rider line and the CM whose place he took didn't have a problem giving just a little push. He insisted it wasn't allowed and I was escorted off. It was sooo embarrassing. I waited until later in the day, tried again, got a different CM and didn't have a problem. I also didn't have a problem for the rest of the week.:confused3 My problem is just my stomach.:worried:

When I went to Universal, the ride was brand new- they told me they didn't have modified seats. I have to say, I did write a pretty nasty letter to Universal afterwards- who builds a NEW ride and doesn't include the modified seats?? Your CM sounds like the one that I had, that refused to push it down and I was escorted off. But unlike you- I just didn't have the courage to go through it again. Good for you!
