We don't arrive at the Grand Floridian for our first visit until April 21st, but I'm already impressed with the attention we've received.

We have received 3 pieces of mail, a phone call, and an e-mail.

I just e-mailed them back with our arrival time and mentioned that it was my Birthday as well as our honeymoon trip.

Does the concierge team have anything do to with room assignments?

I mentioned that we were hoping for a quiet room since we plan to spend most of our stay at the resort rather than in the parks.

One week.

I can't stand it........lol

Have a wonderful trip!:teeth:

We spent our honeymoon at WDW in 97' and stayed part of our trip at the GF and when they found out we were on our honeymoon at check-in, they upgraded us to a suite!! It was wonderful! We were in the Sago Cay building on the 5th floor overlooking the lagoon and monorail.
You will love the GF!

Congratulations!!

Conratulations on your upcoming wedding and birthday! Are you staying in the main building or sugar loaf? We stayed in the main building last summer, RPC, and it was wonderful, we will be there again this summer. When I spoke to the concierge before our trip last summer I requested the 4th floor, MK view, and that's exactly what we got, it was great! I'm sure, because you mentioned it's your honeymoon and b-day, they will take very good care of you! By the way, would you happen to have the e-mail address for the concierge? Much appreciated if you do. Have
a grand time!::yes::

Thanks!!

I PMed you the email address kard.

Hey, that's what they said on the phone message, "have a grand day".....lol

Karen,

My DH and I stayed RPC this past January for our 20th anniversary and my birthday. The concierge team did a great job for us. We flew into Orlando the night before check-in and stayed at the Hyatt. I just hate to waste a day flying. Anyway, we informed them that we would be arriving at the GF pretty early in the morning (around 9am) and we were pleasantly surprised to find our room already available. ~OH, a nice feature when you arrive at the GF is that your name is taken at the security gate and they will call a head to a concierge member who will meet you at your car. You'll be escorted either upstairs or over to Sugar Loaf for private check-in, depending on what level of concierge service you have. It's a nice touch.

We were upgraded to a beautiful honeymoon suite on the 5th floor. No balcony, but palladium windows that offered a panoramic view from the wedding chapel all the way over to the castle. We were there during slow season, so that may be part of the reason for the upgrade.

I had pre-ordered a bottle of champagne with concierge and my DH had flowers delivered from the Disney florist. They were the most beautiful roses that I have ever seen and the vase has a sweet Mickey & Minnie etched into it. The concierge staff even packaged up the vase for me to take home. We got an autographed picture of Mickey one night wishing us a happy anniversary and an autographed picture of Minnie on another night for my birthday. Very cute.

You will love your stay there. It's a beautiful, romantic resort. Enjoy and congratulations.
