I'm planning on watching this! I'm trying to do a different movie for each table for my wedding, so hopefully there will be some good Alice inspired centerpieces or something I can use
Dolly, I totally agree about the tea party place...I even found it a bit creepy, LOL!
But the wedding look overall I thought was AMAZING, and one of my favorites that I've seen him do! I loved the hedges and the whole setup! He's usually all about white curtains and huge flowers, and this was so different. I'm not sure why he used pink instead of red, either, but it must've been a color the bride wanted 'cuz her bridesmaids were wearing it, too. (I liked when the bridesmaids were in different colors rather than just one.)
I have to say that I much preferred her original wedding dress to the one he chose. When she came out in the one he chose, my dh and I looked at each other and said, "She looks like Mrs. Lincoln in the Geico ad!" You know ... the one where she asks Abe "Does this dress make my backside look big?" That was NOT the look! I did love her top hat, though.
And I wasn't crazy about the cakes ... I've seen much more beautiful/fun/whimsical ones posted here for sure.
But overall I thought it was a neat episode with lots of good ideas!
What a cute idea! Are you doing it with different centerpieces for each table? Would love to hear about it.
We must be a lot alike...I thought the tea party place was creepy and I 100% agree that the dress looked like Mrs. Lincoln as well, but like you, I liked the hat. It just didn't go at all with the dress. I did like the overall look of the reception especially the hedges and bushes. But I wasn't a fan of the performers...they were more strange than they were Alice in Wonderlandish.
Yup, that's the plan! We got these large storage boxes that look like old books that we've using as a base for each centerpiece (the books representing the original fairy tales), and then we're adding something to go with each table. For instance, the Cinderella table will have a glass slipper on top of the pile of books, Beauty and the Beast table will have a single red rose and a candelabra, etc. I'm also thinking about making the table name signs to look like large bookmarks to go with the theme. Still experimenting and figuring things out
What are all of the tables going to be named? It would be fun to hear ideas for what others might use to decorate each table based on the fairy tale books you are going to use.
If you can post them...and post pics of the "storage boxes" that look like old books...I would love to see them!
For Alice In Wonderland table decorations...here are a few ideas:
mismatched tea cups with tea pots
white roses or small white rose bush with red paint tin and paint brushes
playing cards
buy a small clear glass cake stand with glass top at Hobby Lobby and place a pocket watch inside
something with "eat me" tag and "drink me" tag on it
Mad Hatter Hat
Pink Flamingo
Mirror (to represent through the looking glass)
a beautiful white rabbit figurine
Alice figurine or doll to represent when she ate what ever made her small
you could even have an Alice doll growing out of a house like she did in the book
