I was getting ready to get in single rider line and they shut it down with people on it. We are sitting here watch they help people out to walk down.

Love that ride, but the thought of getting stuck and having to walk down is always in the back of my mind. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to ride it again after that.

We got stuck on EE at the very top inside the mountain. We waited a while for them to come let us out and we walked down a regular stairwell. I was super glad we didn't get stuck on the ramp up outside, those stairs look very exposed.

I think Disney does a great job with their ride designs. Most of them are indoors so you wouldn't generally be waiting for a crane to evacuate like some of the outside, extreme coasters. I wouldn't want to be stuck on one of those.

17 flights of stairs down. no cell phones or video or any photos are allowed.

The initial ascent on EE is definitely not inside. It is exposed. We saw them walking people down off that part of the ride. Had that been me stuck on that part they would have needed to send a sherpa up there to carry me down!

Wonder what the problem was... hope that does not happen Friday when we are riding it! I hate heights and walking down that many flights of stairs:eek:

What is the walkway/stairs like coming down. I'm pretty terrified of heights. I think I can handle Expedition Everest, but I have a real issue with bridges and things were I'm not enclosed. I would be scared to death that I would pass out and fall over or through the walkway/stairs.

Even Soarin' gets to me a bit, especially when it tilts down. But I still ride it!

Never used to be afraid. I've walked across some pretty high swinging rope bridges on trails and driven over some scary bridges like the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in MD... but I can't do either now. I don't know what happened.... might be that there were several accidents on that Bay Bridge including one that sent a tractor trailer over the edge about 150 feet down below into the water......

If that ride stops, and they want me to walk back down, across that bridgeway, well, they are going to have to send up blankets and a pillow. I am not walking across that span. I've looked at those 'steps' and the 'railing' beside them, every time I cross there. I have nightmares about having to cross that particular span. Just leave me where I am until you fix the issue..thank-you very much.

:rotfl2: You and my DH!!

We were at AK today and saw the train stopped at the top of the mountain. The riders where being escorted off one by one and they wer walking up to the top of the mountain. From there we couldn't see anything else. About and hour later we heard the screams and the ride going again.

I noticed this last trip that as you are going up the lift hill on the left side there are stairs. Everyone sees that, but next tot he stairs is a fold down railing that uses a series of cables as the supports. I kept looking at the cables trying to figure out what they must tension, then I saw the pivot points where the posts pivot from parallel with the lift to vertical. Pretty cool way to provide a railing that isn't seen or even noticed until needed.

If I get stuck on the outside high parts.. well they will have to send a cherry picker crane for me.. I am not walking down the stairs..
I love coasters.. the taller the better.. but.... I am afraid of heights :rotfl: I can deal with it on a ride.. in fact, I love it then. When it comes to stairs, railings and low windows in a resort.. you can count me out.. I am not going near them. I will sit on a balcony but not go near the rail, I will look out the window.. but from a distance (low windows that is)..

So the cranes they use for the steel coasters..that is what they will need for me.....

I've walked down that stairway a few times. A little disorienting at first, but the view is amazing. You have to hold tight to the handrail- I'm sure it's safer than it looks, but man is it small!!

I would have liked to have been stuck on this ride and walked down---that would be so cool.
