i had posted a question about handicapp rooms at the all star music resorts and was told that the bathrooms are a little bigger and that was all. i posted that question because our travel agent had convinced my mother not to change her reservations because in her words "your room is going to be like have two rooms thats how the handicapp rooms are like" so not being very trusting of her my mother called the resort and they said in the handicapp room their is 1 double beds and the other people in her party will have a joining room.. i still am not convince this is going to happen!!!!!!!! anyone hear of this sounds to good to be true.. <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

I would call the CRO, ask for Special Reservations (Sue has the number somewhere around here...) and ask them directly.

That does not sound like anything that has been posted by anyone else before. I have not stayed at AS resorts, so I don't have first hand experience. I do know, though not to always trust travel agents. We have already been told that a hotel in northren MN was wheelchair accessible when it had one step up to get in and one step down as soon as you got in the door (plus a sunken master bedroom).
The phone number for WDW Resort Special Reservations is (407) 939-7807 (voice) or (407) 939-7670 (TTY). It is possible that some of the wheelchair accessible rooms are connecting rooms, but I don't think that's the rule.ˇ

I don't know if all of the wheelchair accessible rooms are ajoining but I do know that they have a lot that are when I called to ask if they had any rooms with a bathroom big enough to roll in that had double beds I was told that only the rooms with king beds did. I told the CM that one bed wouldn't work since there was me my mom and my 2 girls she said that she could guarantee we could get the connecting room but would have to pay for 2 rooms. Instead Megan just rolled as close to the toilet as she could and then slid over and from there slid to the tub.

It's not fair that hotels think you only need one bed if you need a bathroom big enough to get into.

The only hotel I have found that offers 2 queen size beds with a big bathroom are the Country Inn and Suites. They even had the beds lowered for easy transfer. I haven't tried one anywhere other then Grand Rapids Michigan but if they are all like that I think we may look for them when possible.
