Airtran has a sale that ends today. I checked my flights for November and saved $26 over what I paid in May. I got the credit in my Airtran account just by calling and asking for it.

Check your flights and call for your credit if they have decreased in price since you purchased them!

congrats:confused:though, thought the change in fare had to be over $75

Nope. Airtran doesn't charge a fee for this. My fares dropped by $26 total for my Nov trip and I got the entire $26 back as a credit to my Airtran account. I just have to use it before it expires 1 year from the date I originally purchased the ticket.

i've called (AT's reward's phone #) in the past & was told the change had to be more than $75 if booking coach, hope im not kicking myself for nothing;) mentally counting up all the price changes i missed. Regardless, u can be sure i'll be calling in the future if i see my flight cost drop!

from AT's website:

Conditions of Contract:
All AirTran Airways coach tickets are non-refundable and a $75 fee per person applies to any change made after purchase, plus any applicable increase in airfare. Business class tickets (A and J fare classes only; not including promotional fares) are fully refundable and no fee applies to changes. Additional
baggage fees may apply.

There was a period where Airtran was NOT giving the credits back to the accounts anymore. They changed back some time ago and have been doing refunds again. It doesn't matter what their website says, they do give you the refund when you call. As I said, I got $26 when my fares dropped by $26 from what I paid in May. No change fee required.

thanx for posting this, i will be sure to call & ask in the future...just plain weird the website states otherwise

Nevermind my previous question.

Just got off the phone. Had to wait through 10 minutes of hold music to get someone, but a very nice woman answered and I got a credit of $78 to be used within a year of the original purchase date.

Sweet!

Thanks Inkmahm!! :cool1::banana:

My fare went down twice. I called to request a credit each time. I received one for $43 and one for $36. :)

In the past I have gotten credits on AirTran minus the "phone fee." That fee started at $5 and eventually went up to $15. They no longer charge any fees, and I just got a $20 credit for one of my flights in October.

Yay! Glad I could help others save some $, too! I frequently check my scheduled Airtran flights so that I can call to get the credit if costs go down. So far, most of my Florida flights have only gone up.
