Does anyone know the expected cost of taxi from airport to Universal area (Royal Pacific) ? Was thinking about maybe getting car with driver to wait for us, if the price is comparable.

It cost us $46 including tip from RPR to MCO last month That was with Checker Cabs (Mears).

We have a car & driver booked for our June trip ~ cost is $90 round trip.
Used this same driver last year & he was wonderful. Will include a grocery stop too - if you want one.

We like Murray Hill Transportation. They charge $110 round trip from MCO) (plus tip) and will make a 30 minute grocery run. I have always received great service with them. They are family run.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just emailed Edward to get a quote. We have a van transportation booked from FL Tours (found on the DIS website). But it's $124 r/t. There are 5 of us, so we can't take a taxi. I'm hoping Ed will be cheaper.

I'll post what his quote is when I hear back from him.

My trip isn't until August, but I will post back and let you all know how his service is.

This may be a silly question, but what would you tip one of these drivers on the $90 round trip, family of 4? Yes, I'm trying to do the calculations....it seems if taxi is about $45 each way it makes sense to have car waiting for us. Thanks in advance for any reply.

Not a silly question at all. I do tip the driver ~ I give him half of the tip when he drops us off at the hotel & the other half when he drops us off at the airport. I think 20% for a tip is the general range.

I am going to look into this option as well.....it might be easier than taking our chances with a cab. We have ME transportation from MCO to WDW for the start of our trip, but need transportation from our WDW resort when we switch over to PBH at Universal...and then from PBH to MCO on our departure day. Weighing all the options!

I know Florida Tours (Link to FL Tours) has 10 passenger vans & will do a grocery stop. I'm sure there are others too, but this is the one I'm most familiar with. Have a great trip.

His prices must have just gone up as he quoted me $95.00 for our August trip. That would be Beach Club to PBH one day and PBH to Airport the next.

Do you think this is much more than a taxi would cost?? I am trying to decide if it is worth the extra cost to hire Ed or just go with a taxi for 2 ppl. No grocery stop needed.

Tips are usually 10-20% of the total, aren't they? and would it be tacky to give him half at the start and half at the return to the airport??

I was thinking perhaps $10 tip, but now I read someone said 20%, so that would make it double.... I am undecided as to the best option for the 2 of us for this part of our trip!
