Abercrombie and Fitch

We went a Skid Row, Poison, vince Neal concert and dressed up.

OMG Kyle I saw them ALL in the 80s when they were IT!!!! Of course Vince was with Motley Crue and they were warned about Mooning the audience and of course did it anyway and we all went wild! OMG those were fun days, I'm surprised I'm not DEF...LOL!

I want to see that Picture!!!!!!

My jeans from A&F are my absolute favorites! Like lots of people have said, they really do hold up, and a the fit of the jeans is incredible. Same with some of the t-shirts- I really like the way they fit!

I used to buy TONS of clothes at Maurices, but they fall apart in no time!

My 15 yr old ds loves this store, buys most of his clothes there. I don't care, if he only wants 2 outfits rather then 5, thats his choice. I do think the quality is good though, the stuff wears like iron! They start out big and sty big (I am a master at shrinking clothes:rolleyes: , )no worries here. Because the kids wear stuff so big, he still has and wears shirts I bought him 2 yrs ago! I can't complain, my ds who is 30 now, wore nothing but Hilfiger at that age and he turned out all right!;)

We went to A&F school shopping and I couldn't believe what the clothing looked like. It actually looked like they dumped the boxes of new clothing on the floor, rolled around in it, drove a truck over it --- then put it on the shelves for sale. All wrinkled up!

My hubby said that he's seen 'nicer' looking stuff at the salvation army.;)

My son has some A&F LS shirts but they don't look anything like what they are carrying in the store now.

I'll be the one snickering at you in the mall as you walk out with your $38 T-shirt. Over the weekend I got three shirts and two pairs of shoes at a department store for that much money. :teeth:

I just wanted to let you know that I took offense to this comment. I mean, I would hope that you had better things to do that laugh at me while I'm shopping in a mall because I'm wearing Abercrombie or Juicy or Guess or whatever else I happen to be wearing.

I mean, come on, I don't laugh at those kids who wear the "you laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at you because you're all the same" shirt, even though I've seen about 20 kids in my school with the shirt!

If you want to shop and buy cheaper clothes to get a deal, more power to ya, I love deals too. One day I got two tank tops, one t shirt, and undies at A&F for about 20 bucks (yay end of season clearance sale). If you want to work your butt off because you enjoy expensive clothing, that is your decision too.

Oh, and if anyone cares, Abercrombie (the kids store) clothes are a little bit cheaper, and if you can still fit into them they really are a great deal. SDAngel101 I'm 5'2" as well, and I can fit into the kids Abercrombie drawstring lounge pants. (yeah, there actually are comfy clothes there, you just have to get lucky now and then! ;) )

I hate A&F. My DH ADORES A&F. He has spent countless hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in that store this year alone. He's 38. I just can't see a grown man wanting to wear ya ya clothes. I'm not trying to be disparaging by calling them ya ya clothes. They are for teens and college aged, IMO, not for grown, near middle-aged men. Heck, we wore the ya ya clothes of our generation, too. Remember those Forenza sweaters with the deep v necks?

I think he should be wearing Hilfiger and Polo. They are made for his age and body. If he wants to wear used clothing, we can go to the Salvie for them. I don't mind spending money on our clothes, but I DO mind spending money on expensive clothing that looks ridiculous on a man of his age.

The most ridiculous things that he has are the t-shirts for fake companies and sports teams. Whether he wears age-appropriate clothing or not, he still looks like he's at least 35, so I can't figure out who he's trying to kid other than himself.

LOL RUDisney, your husband is a BRAVE man! :p I don't even like going in that store to shop for my nieces and nephews, makes me feel about 100 years old.

He does alot of his shopping online. I can't stand the volume of the store. How can someone think about what they are looking at when that infernal racket is booming? OK, now I sound old.

I have to agree with you though, Snoops, but brave sometimes is another word for stupid. ;)

Our DD17 can't STAND when someone, as she puts it "over 30", wears teen/20yo's clothing styles. She says "that's just WRONG". Even if they have the shape for it. She just rolls her eyes and shakes her head... LOL

I have to agree with your DD. FOJMO. My DH has a body for Polo NOT for A&F. I told him that if he's trying to be a teeny bopper, he should buy a sportscar, not clothes. At least I'd get to drive the car sometimes and people would think that both of us were trying to recapture our younger days.

I am so thankful that my kids wear the school uniforms of hte navy bottoms and white tops. It makes it much easier to buy for school.

That said I have often wondered if the old jeans that people donate often end up at stores like A&F! (all they have to do is take of the old labels na dsew theirs in LOL) Some of them are so worn and faded I really do wonder!

My kids are still into the GAP clothes and I have gotten some great deals there on clothes.

Ugh, I'm not a fan of Abercrombie either, mostly because they're SO overpriced nowadays, and the clothes look so tattered. I own a few A&F shirts that I bought when I was in high school (I'm 23 now), and they're still alive and kicking, but now everything they sell seems so flimsy. I'm pretty sure I can make my own pair of torn jeans for a whole lot less than $70. Couldn't you also just go to a thrift store and find the exact same thing for much less? I'll occasionally see something in their stores that I think is cute, but like someone posted previously, the brand name is on EVERYTHING, and I'm not here to be a walking billboard.

On a side note, I'm also slightly disturbed by that magazine they put out (I think it's called the quarterly or something like that). Does everyone have to be more than half naked? I know you have to be 18 or older to get your hands on that publication, but the pictures they have up in their stores are also quite...risque. It just strikes me as creepy, especially since most of the people who buy A&F stuff are still in high school. Just seems to be a trashy way to market the brand.

Half-naked? They're actually NAKED! At least the girls are topless! The last one we got (it's a subscription in my name) I didn't even give to our DD. It was unbelievable. She always says, so what? Well, I'm no prude, but I do think it's sending out a message of casualness about how a company is marketing their product.

I mean, if they're supposed to be selling CLOTHES, one would think the models should actually be WEARING them, don't you think?

Evil Princess, don't be offended by what others do or say, as long as you are happy in A&F clothes who cares what others do behind your back, and who knows, YOU may be the one to have the last laugh! My son almost exclusevly wears A&F and I wear alot of Tommy amd Liz Claibourne etc, why? I like the way they fit and keep there shape and don't fade. Do I have money to burn? No, but I do know quality, I can FEEL quality. and can wear quality for years. I may not have a closet full of clothes, but what I have I wear for ME and could care less who laughs behind or in front of me!:D

If you wait til January/February, A&F has some absolutely awesome sales. And if you stick to their classic sweaters and the like, buy them one size too big for your kids, you'll have them for a few seasons.

(This works pretty much for their classic stuff. The trendy stuff....buy the right size and let the kids wear them for the rest of the season and next fall!)

If anyone's DD or DS is like my DD, they WON'T WEAR these clothes year to year! Heck, they can't even wear something to school twice in the same WEEK! It's unbelievable. I could care less who notices that I've worn the same blouse/sweater/pants on Monday and Wednesday, but these kids freak out! They wear it a few times and then they're looking for something new!

DD (11) shops at Limited Too and weras it pretty much all the tie to school

Abercromie and Fitch really puts me off with the posters int heir store - as a previous poster said, if you're selling clothes, why have naked models?

But what really wierds me out is Abercromie (the kids store), with pre teen models (boys and girls) looking buff with veyr little clothing on (all the boys have no shirrts, girls are scantily clad). Ick. I know it's not, but it looks like kiddie porn to me.
