Snacks
Originally this was to by my dinner. But then I found other dinner I wanted later. So. Whatever. VACATION!
Here are the many many
many things that I put in my mouth as I circled World Showcase...
Jardin de Fiesta (Mexico)
Flan de Queso con Chocolate Abuelita – Mexican Chocolate Custard with Whipped Cream and Cinnamon.
I looooooved this. I could eat this EVERY DAY. I intentionally took a couple bites for the photo, so you could see inside it. It has a perfect balance of flavors. Yummmm!
I got a Blueberry Pomegranate Margarita to go with this. I was super looking forward to this beverage. Sadly, it was just WAY TOO STRONG for me. Like, seriously. It tastes like slightly watered-down tequila. Not even a hint of blueberry or pomegranate. It made me go cross-eyed... quite literally. I only drank maybe a 4th of it, and threw the rest away, which made my soul hurt.
Florida Fresh
Florida Blueberry and Lemon Curd Tart
Sweet baby jesus, this was yummy. The lemon tart itself was yummy, but that blueberry compote on top was HEAVENLY. And my blueberries formed a hidden Mickey, too!
Watermelon Passion Fruit Slush
Originally I had planned on getting the alcoholic version that was offered of this (with gin), but after my horrible margarita experience, I wasn't feeling it. So I got it without, and I ended up being VERY glad I did. This was incredibly light and freshing, and I very nearly went back for a second one, but I resisted!
The Smokehouse
"Piggylcious" Bacon Cupcake.
This was super delicious! The whole LET'S PUT BACON IN EVERYTHING movement fascinates me to no end. But the maple frosting is what really shown here... it's was so tasty! My only complaint here it that there were about 629% more pretzel peices on top than I was expecting. I was only expecting two or three. And not being a pretzel person, my plan was to just pick them off. Yeah, that ended up taking half my lifetime to do. But hey... Worth it!
Hanami (Japan)
Teriyaki Curry Bun - Steamed bun filled with chicken, vegetables, curry and sweet sauce.
This was so freakin' good! I was actually surprised at how much I liked it. If anybody served these here locally, I'd be eating them ALL THE TIME. It's definitely good stuff!
Frushi - Fresh pineapple, strawberries and melon, rolled with coconut rice, topped with raspberry sauce, sprinkled with toasted coconut and served with whipped cream on the side.
Okay, first, I just have to say this instantly made me so happy. Because it's PINK.

The photo I had seen prior to my trip, it was rolled in pastel green. It was cute. But this... PINK! Oh, and it was super tasty too. I wish there had been more whipped cream, though.
Taste of Marrakesh (Morocco)
Harissa Chicken Kebab with Couscous Salad.
This was nice for something different. The chicken had a bit more kick than I was prepared for, but I'm just a great big giant wussy girl about anything even mildly spicey.
Fleur de Lys (France)
Confit de Canard, Pommes de Terre Sarladaise – Pulled Duck Confit with Garlic and Parsley Potatoes.
Oh. My. God. As much as I loved the curry bun in Japan, eeked past it to win the day. It was so incredibly delicious, and the perfect gnosh for a gal like me. I think I fell asleep that night dreaming about it.
Macaron Guimauve à la Fraise, a Strawberry Marshmallow Macaron.
This was really interesting! Macarons always have an interesting texture, but the filling of strawberry and marshmallow worked really well with them. (And... pink!)
Pineapple Promenade
Pineapple Soft Serve with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum.
A Dole Whip for lushes? YES PLEASE. By this point, I was over my fear of liquor. Not to mention that (1) the liquor in it is one of my favorites anyhow, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, and (2) I've had my eye on this baby even since I first read about it a year or so ago. So I just HAD to try it. Man, am I happy I did. It was totally my speed, and just so YUM YUM YUM!
