A Week at the Boardwalk....WDW - January 2012

Day Three- January 22, 2012 - Part 2

Austin woke up in time for his hair cut appointment. We went and checked in. They told us it would be a few minutes wait.

Isn't my girl adorable? While we were sting the Move it Shake it Celebrate it Parade started!

It started right where we were standing. I really want this music. I love it!

Then they called our name. We went in and sat Austin in the chair! They covered him with stickers.

It was like he was with Paparazzi. LOL

He did sooo good! I am so happy my sister let him have his first haircut here.

All Done!

While I was paying for his hair cut the hair lady put Alyssa in the seat and she got the sparkle treatment!

After the hair cut we went to ride the train. Love the Train!

We rode it to Frontierland. Laura got off to get some lunch while we took it all the way around and then got off to meet Laura, Brandon and Austin for lunch.

Peco's Bills was what was for lunch!

After lunch it was time to meet Jessie and Woody after Splash Mountain.

We rode Splash Mountain. I got to ride with Caitie. I really need a camera poncho. I hate not having pictures on the ride! Then Alyssa met with the characters while Pete and I took Austin to get a Dole Whip and to watch the castle show.

Alyssa came up and she had traded to get her Uncle Petey a No. 1 uncle pin.

We watched the Castle show then the parade.

The parade was over and we were all tired. We went to the Haunted Mansion. Alyssa did well and wasn't too scared. She liked it even. Afterwards we canceled our dinner reservations and headed to the hotel. My sister and her gang went to Downtown Disney while Pete and I decided to try out Cape May Cafe. I left my camera in the room (Shocking I know) and we took a romantic boat ride just the two of it to the Beach Club. We had a great dinner. I was surprised. It was out first time there, but not our last.

After dinner we rode the boat the loop to Hollywood Studios and to Epcot before we got off and headed back to our room. Pete loves the boats in Disney.

By the time we got back to the room the kids were sleeping and my sister was almost asleep on the sofa. We talked to her a bit before we went to bed! It was a great day!!

Day Four - January 23, 2012

Good Morning! We woke up this morning to two little faces peaking in our balcony door. Gotta love the adjoining balcony. We got up and the kids had some breakfast and sorted pins. By kids I mean all of those pictured in this picture.

I went to get dressed and in walks Austin. His hands got dirty on the balcony. He is not a fan of dirt. LOL

This morning my sister and her family headed to Epcot while Pete and I went to Saratoga Springs to pick up some free fast passes from our last DVC purchase. We talked to our guide and got some information on some extra points. I think we are going to hold off a little while longer.

We had the DVC driver drop us off back at the boardwalk and then we walked over to Epcot. Today was the day my Dad was arriving. YAY! PopEye is coming!

While Pete and I were at Saratoga Springs my sister met up with the Lane's and met some characters.

Alyssa wore her fake braid. She was still in Rapunzel mode. LOL

Looks like the also visited the Living Seas with Nemo and Friends.

Alyssa loves Caitie so much!

So we walked into the gift shop right inside the international gateway and someone said to me "Are you Lisa" I said yes. Turns out it was Kelly who I had rented DVC points to for their trip! They were at BLT and got upgraded to a one bedroom! Lucky family. It's so funny we ran into each other because I said to her in emails months before to look for us that week. I even said "I will have on the Mickey Tie Dye". Well guess what I had on???

Pete and I did a little shopping before grabbing lunch.

We had lunch, some fish and chips. It was really good. We got a table thankfully, but it was packed. My sister and family ate at the electric umbrella and then headed over to us.

Alyssa got a new necklace. She was sooo excited about it.

We got in line to see Alice...again...LOL

A few steps away Mary Poppins was hanging out with a tiny line. So we jumped in before heading to the international gateway to meet Popeye.

While waiting for my Dad we got in line to meet Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.

Then we spotted my Dad!

The kids took off running! They love him more then anyone in the whole world!

Brandon had stood in line so it was soon their turn to see Pooh.

We got a good pictures with out favorite kids before we all split up for a while.

The Pete and Brandon were going to drink around the world while the rest of us were on a Character mission!

Day Four - January 23, 2012 - Part 2

They boys started in France.

So did we!

Up first was Sleeping beauty. Oh and did I mention we came today with lots of princess dresses. LOL

Alyssa was in her glory! She loves the princesses!

Alyssa insisted that she spread her dress out and posed so she could be Aurora.

We next got in line to meet Belle and the Beast. Alyssa had a fast costume change and then a fast pose on the ground with her dress spread out.

When Austin saw the beast he was excited!

The beast was so excited that Alyssa was in Belle's Yellow Dress they had a quick dance.

We moved on to see the Genie and Aladdin.

Alyssa does not have a Jasmine outfit so she improvised with Rapunzel.

I love Japan. We didn't really have time to explore much, but we did stop for a quick Candy making demo.

I got in line next right on the edge of America. I was in line for a frozen Lemonade and I look over and see this:

All of these characters were just walking out of the gate. I was shocked. No handlers or anything. We just headed over to say hi. It took a few minutes before it was too crowded to have fun.

Day Four - January 23, 2012 - Part 3

We met back up with the boys and then made our way to the boat to head over to dinner.

We had a small disagreement around this time. I am not sure what about.

Austin Pete and I headed to the Land and everyone else went to ride Test Track.

We got to the Land to check in and our timing was off. We were late.

They got us a seat and we started dinner. It was nice, we have not been here in a while. So glad we went. My foot was hurting pretty bad today. I have a heel spur that need to be removed, but I am a chicken. I also pulled my ACL the week before we left. BUT I did it. We pressed on!

About this time Austin threw up all over the place. Lovely! LOL We cleaned him up and he did it again! Laura took him out and we hurried up with dinner.

We rushed through it all. But the food was good.

The Lane's met us there so we could ride Soarin.

Michele kept Austin and he got sick again while we were on the ride. Afterwards Brandon and my Dad took Austin back to the room. Have I mentioned how nice it was being at the boardwalk.

The rest of us went to find a spot for Illuminations.

Alyssa was mesmerized. This was her first Disney Fireworks that she can remember.

We took the boat back...it was a long day and Pete wanted to end with a boat ride. His favorite.

We got back to the boardwalk and we posed for a quick picture before heading up to bed.

It was a great day at Epcot!!!

Oh I forgot a funny story! We were part of a photo pass share. I have a few clients and a few friends all in Disney at the same time. I let them all in on my photo pass so everyone had access to our account. Pete and Brandon had a picture taken while drinking around the world. No big deal. Well once I got the photo pass CD someone on the share had added this boarder! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I laughed so hard when I saw it!

Day Five - January 24, 2012

We woke up early today. Alyssa's Babies slept in our room on this bench and she came in bright and early cause she claimed they were crying. Funny I didn't hear them!

We got ready for the day and Alyssa climbed in the pack and play to read a book. Austin was bothering her and she wanted to get away from him.

We headed to the boat to Hollywood Studios. While waiting for the boat I got my girl to pose for a picture.

You can see our room in this picture...Lets look closer.

Our room was the one above the "Screen Door" all the way to the end. It was a BIG balcony that was the one bedroom section, then the small balcony right above the SCREE section of Screen Door.

In no time at all we were at Hollywood Studios. NOT at rope drop.

We have been watching videos of Tower of Terror and Alyssa was excited.

She LOVED IT! This was the first of 7 rides over our two Hollywood Studio days.

Jasmin is not a fan so her and Austin hung out and took pictures while we rode.

Everyone headed to Rockin Roller Coaster.

Since Alyssa wasn't tall enough and Austin surely wasn't those of us not riding went to the Beauty and the Beast show. We held seats for everyone else.

It was good as ever! I could watch this show over and over.

We split from the Lane's and we all eased to the Play and Dine at Hollywood and Vine.

Alyssa and Petey started the meal with a parade. I am sure that is just want he had in mind to start his lunch. HAHA!

The characters started coming right away! We really enjoyed this lunch.

Austin was a big scared! Love his face!

I love the details at Hollywood Studios. I feel like I never get enough time here. I wish they did a little more with Roger Rabbit here. I like him!

We went to the Art of Animation character meet and greet. We wanted to go draw, but the characters sucked us in.

Mr. Incredible isn't the only on with Muscles.

Alyssa wanted a picture and her, Uncle Petey and Uncle Petey's favorite Mickey!!!

Day Five - January 24, 2012 - Part 2

We all took a group picture. I don't think we got one with the whole group the whole week!

After all that character fun we went to the Playhouse Disney Show. It was nice and air conditioned and some of us fell asleep!

We left the Art of Animation and went to ride Toy Story! YAY! Thank God for fast passes!

I do not care for this huge stage blocking the Hat. I know there is a group who is not a fan of the Hat, but I love it.

Again I really love Hollywood Studios and the details.

We headed back to the hotel and of course my Dad is like girl and tok forever to get ready! We were heading to meet the Lane's at the Hoop De Doo Revue. We ended up taking a taxi to Ft. Wilderness then a bus to the Hoop De Doo. My Dad and Pete smuggled Beer with them and drank on the bus. I wanted to kill them!

Of course the Lane's were there and waiting. We had a HUGE mess to get straight. The HDDR charged all the tickets onto our account. It was a mess. We had to get our credits reversed so the Lane's paid for their show and we paid for ours.

Look at these pretty girls. I love them!

We had great seats on the floor. Great location. I was excited since the Lane's have never been.

There were lots of empty seats. We took the last seating and I am glad.

Here is a Hoop De Doo tip. Don't forgot your ID or they won't serve you. They gave my Dad a pass, but Pete, Michele and I were out of luck.

Michele and Steve have a anniversary dance.

We really enjoyed the show!

My Dad got a kiss from his favorite performer. LOL

We got back to the resort after 11. It was close to midnight. Thankfully Pete and I have the morning off tomorrow. I wanted to sleep in! My Dad ran and jumped in this seat. He wanted a picture here all week. LOL

Pete went for a walk when we got back to the room. He is such a night owl. The Boardwalk was the perfect resort for him.

I took a bath and fell asleep in the tub. Pete woke me up after an hour or so. LOL

I found you from Nebo's trip report and am loving your report so far. I'm glad I'm not the only one that falls asleep in the tub, LOL!! There is nothing better than a good soak after a long day. My wonderful hubby put a hot tub in for me about a year and a half ago and it is my idea of heaven! I am enjoying your take on staying at the Boardwalk. My son and I have a BIG GRADUATION trip in the planning stages for June '13 - I graduate in Dec '12 and he graduates in June '13 and he really wants to stay at the Beach Club as Epcot is his favorite park. Although, we are still debating between AKL and BC because we could stay AKL concierge for the same price as BC regular.... We'll see but I'm starting to lean towards BC from reading your report!

YAY I have people reading!

No Hidden Mickey's he claims they are reserved for Disney Cruises! HA! We will see come February is he comes through!

I love Animal Kingdom Lodge, but my husband and I both agree that we are hooked on the Boardwalk. The area in general is amazing! We loved being so close to Epcot and the boat ride to Hollywood Studios was lovely!

Day Six - January 25, 2012

Today was a rest day for Pete and I. My family was heading to Animal Kingdom and since I am not a huge fan really wanted to have a relaxing day at the resort. Pete and I slept in and then headed over to Beaches and Cream at 11:30am.

We had put our swim suits on and wanted some lunch before we went swimming.

We were the first people there today! The place was empty when we walked in.

We sat at the counter. It's my favorite place to sit. I love feeling like I have been transported back into the 50's sitting at the Soda fountian.

We decided to share a burger to save room for desert! HAHA! We know what's important here.

Our burger was super good, but the No Way Jose was the best! I only had a bit since Ice Cream and I do not agree, but YUM!

After We ate we headed back to the Scary Clown pool at the Boardwalk.

In the meantime my sister and Family were enjoying Animal Kingdom!

My dad only wears shorts at Disney! Look at those BRIGHT white legs!

I really am not sure what they did all day...I can guess by the pictures though. Here you go....

Looks like lunch time.

Pete and I hung out at the pool. It was so great. The water was cool and the day was really hot!

Right when we were ready to get out my sister and crew showed up. Animal Kingdom was sooo hot they called it a day early!

My Dad loved the slide!

They had great pool games going on at the pool. The kids were having so much fun!

Austin loved the kids pool.

We all headed back to the room to shower and get ready for our Princess Dinner with Cinderella.

We decided to take a cab since we were running late!

We were right on time for our Dinner. Caitie and Jasmin came with us and Steve and Michele were having a "date night".

There was a surprise for after Dinner....

Day Six - January 25, 2012 - Part 2

We were heading to 1900 Park Fare for a great dinner. Alyssa was all ready to meet some Characters!

We had the first seating and we got to sit down right at 4:30pm.

We gave our drink orders and headed to the buffet. Before we could even start eating look who showed up.

Followed right by Cinderella!

My Dad loves the pretty girls! He wanted a picture too!

It is so funny. Every year my Dad says "Disney Again!!" Acts like he doesn't want to go with us then changes his mind and has a fabulous time!!!

Jasmin and the Evil Step Mother. Thankfully she has an amazing Step Mother!

I love Austin's little face!

So glad my Dad dressed up for the Royal Dinner! HA!

Alyssa was so excited when Price Charming asked her to dance!

Just like every night this week Alyssa's dinner ended with a BIrthday Cupcake. This girl believes that her Birthday equals a Disney Trip. I thank god she was born at the end of January instead of the end of July so I can do my best to make this a possibility for her!

After dinner we had out surprise. We went to the Lobby to hang out. My sister and Brandon walked into some stores looking for shoes since Austin lost his. I took some pictures waiting for my friend Amy!

Wasn't I lucky to spend my evening with such lovely Princesses?

So Amy was here! YAY! We made our way out to see if we could see the Castle.

I was so lucky Amy made it. She had just flown one from a very busy business trip. Since she moved to Florida I miss her so much and like to spend as much time as I can with her.

Day Six - January 25, 2012 - Part 3

Disney's Wishes Fireworks Cruise

That was our surprise. Pete and I thought it would be such a fun surprise for Alyssa's birthday Disney Trip!!!

MAGIC KINGDOM WISHES CRUISE (PREMIUM) 
25' Tracker Pontoon 

Price: $346.13, tax included for up to 10 guests. Price includes pontoon boat, driver, water, soda, bagged snacks and and audio feed of the fireworks music. The sound from the fireworks show is provided on the boat adding to a Magical Experience.

We loaded up on the boat and everyone was ready for some fireworks.

We got into a great position. The Magic Kingdom looks amazing from the water!

Then Wishes started....

It was a great fireworks cruise. Not the best, in the past I have had the boat driver take us on a longer tour and also found a spot for us to watch the Electrical Water Parade. But he was ok and it was fun!

Amy offered to take a group picture for us!

Then we were walking back to the Grand Floridan and Alyssa only wanted to walk with Amy! HAHA!

We stopped for a quick bathroom break and then said our goodbyes!

She is such a clown!

We made out way back to the Boardwalk. Where we met with up with Michele and Steve. They enjoyed a great date night at the Cape May Cafe and finished with the fireworks at Epcot!

We hung out on the Boardwalk for awhile. I took some pictures of the girls!

Then we said good night, and good bye! We are heading to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow and they are spending another day at Epcot before heading home!

I am enjoying your trip report! I love the TieDye shirts and your father looks so genuinely happy with everyone, especially the kids. It is great you got to spend so much time with lots of people that you know on your trip.

We were there at the same time as you, and it looks like we were at Epcot on Monday at the same time, at Hollywood Studios (including H&V at lunch on the same day) and we also were at Magic Kingdom on Thursday, January 26. I wonder if our paths ever crossed? Day Seven - January 25, 2012 - Thursday

Magic Kingdom Day...Again! Have I ever mentioned I love the Magic Kingdom....I LOVE MAGIC KINGDOM!

We woke up and got ready this morning. I wanted to be there at rope drop for EMH. We got close...

Once we got inside Alyssa was drawn to Daisy Duck and all of our EMH time savings were eaten up! Oh Well it's her Birthday Trip!

Pete and I went and played a quick game of checkers while we waited.

Pete won, just like he always does. After our game we watched the Welcome show on Main Street.

I don't understand why Disney can not take this god awful crane down during the day!!

After everyone pacified me with Caste pictures we headed to Adventureland for rope drop.

Austin was good sport. Look at his silly smile. This is what I got when I asked to see his teeth!

We got right in line to meet Tink. We were about 15 people back. Not too bad! This older couple asked if they could Join our Family and come in with us to see the kids see Tink. They didn't even have any pictures taken.

Alyssa had some big hugs for Terrance! She wrapped her arms around him.

I truly love the details in here!

Austin was not too sure about Tink.

He kept his arms behind his back!

He finally warmed up enough, but wasn't too too sure.

I was excited to meet Tinkerbell for the first time.

After that we went to ride Aladdin and look who rode right in front of us!!

Alyssa wasn't upset they didn't ride with her. Thank goodness!!! I was worried.

We checked the stand by line for the Jungle Cruise and it was only 10 minutes. 20 Minutes later we were on!

Austin was getting so tired.

Oh look the backside of water!

Alyssa took the boats for a spin once we were done!
