A little funny regarding photographing food

You're posting to the Restaurants board and you think we'd think you're crazy for taking food porn? Really?

:rotfl2:

I really enjoyed the hand modeling photos. I rarely see that.

LOL! my kids would probably use the at-home pics to press charges of "abuse" :lmao:

btw, sherabby, how the heck are you?! (do you ever visit the other boards where we "met?" i have not seen any new posts/activity there in months!) looks like you've become hooked on wdw w/another trip planned... what are your dates? we'll be there 8/23...

We miss you by one day! We are booked Aug 15th to the 22nd. Coronado Springs for 5 nights and last two nights at the Contemporary MK view room too! I think a lot of people deserted the delphi forums...a lot of them use facebook now. We're still Disney addicts! I've got my son hooked now too! Every day he tells me, "I can't wait to go back to Disney!" We had two trips last summer. DS got sick (fever--ear infection and possibly strep) during our June trip. My mom planned a week trip with us in August and we went back with no illness that trip! We're going deluxe dining this trip..spaced out the meals for our check out day 6 into the Contemporary so I only have one day of meals to worry about. DH is going to Universal and Islands on our last day while my son and I stay back at Disney. I also added one more day of tickets to our plan and will add the hopper option once we arrive with our Disney Rewards points. Not sure if we want to do a water park this trip. My son is happy with the pool at the resort and he's not a big water slide kid since he doesn't swim yet. I'm so exicted! We're doing the HDDR on our first night and we also booked the Castle dinner again! I wish we were over lapping so we could meet! Great to hear from you again!

Must admit I have always thought it a bit strange, especially half eaten meals or people actually eating at the time.

On our last trip DH just went with the flow and put his hands in every photo of food.

Thats a big sandwich! :rotfl:

I have been pondering the thought of taking Food pics on our upcoming trip! I enjoy sitting here looking through all the food porn pics!!

I just know that my DH will just look at me like I am crazy...my kids...not so much I dont think...DS is very "disney" right now! Maybe he'll help!!! ;)

I wondered how many others give weird looks when someone if taking pics of their food.

To be honest...I have never noticed any pics being taken while eating.

i just want to shout out a big 'Thank You!' to everyone who takes food pics and posts them here. :worship:

I love looking at them, and they really help me decide whether or not I want to eat at certain restaurants. Keep snapping away! :woohoo:

I must admit. On my last trip, I started taking picture on every meal and it does felt a little bit weird. Just like every one else here, my DW rolled her eyes and asked why am I taking picture of our food for. After a few meals, she got over pretty quick.

I have had that soup from WCC, it was great! Don't know how I missed that cake for dessert tho. Know what I'm ordering in Sept, lol.

I don't feel funny taking pictures at WDW. I've been doing it for a while now thanks to the Dis ;) Although elsewhere I do feel a little strange! My family is used to it now, though- in fact when we went to Italy, every time we went out to eat the camera was passed around the table. I know we got crazy looks! I am a complete foodie so taking pictures of my meals on vacation is a must.

Keep the food pix coming! A number of years ago I used to take photos of all the Food Dishes when we ate at Disney. Occasionally I will still snap a pic here or there. People and some relatives used to give some really strange looks.:confused3 Many of the photos are still stored on Webshots. Disney Food must be an interesting subject to some because of all our albums they have the most views totaling in the 6 figures! One day I recieved a letter from a subscriber. It is self explanatory and still remains special to this day.:)

thank you ! Thank you! THANK YOU! Your pics of disney food has given me a new life. Let me explain. I am a 41 yr old male who is a kidney dialysis patient. For a year now I have lost tremendous weight and it is taking effect on my body. For some reason my appetite has been lost and i am not able to find it. ha ha. This is causing family, friends, doctors and my dietician to get concerned. I have tried to get my appetite back, but i must force myself to eat. Being a photo finatic I dropped by my webshots to download pics for my screensaver. I then came up with an idea that if I put pics of foods on my screensaver that it would get me hungry. It worked!!!! I viewed your pictures and found my stomach growling for the first time. I use your pics as a screensaver to remind myself to eat and get my appetite going. I am so grateful to you. I love to cook and this has pushed myself to make some of the dishes that are pictured. I am also a Disney fan. I have been an annual passholder for over ten years at Disneyland. (I live in Southern Calif, 3 miles away from Mickey) Your pics give me hope that one day I will get to travel to Disney World and/ or Disney cruises. I am probably making this too long but you don't know how much your pictures have helped my spirits. They are such beautiful pics and great to look at on my screensaver. Thank you again! my e-mail address is ********* If you would like to contact me. Sincerely, ****

Now, my question to you is where are these pictures you took? lol

Can't wait! :)

NOW THAT IS FUNNY!!!!:lmao:

Somehow, my food at home is just not as sexy as the food at WDW though

Apparently I have this problem too. I whipped up a batch of brownies at Christmas and DD told me very sincerely "I really don't want to hurt your feelings, but these are okay ..... it's just Disney makes better ones!" :rolleyes1

Never mind, I have a good mind to take some good food pics on our next trip and blown them up poster size and put them in the kitchen. Then I will tell her I used to be a famous cook ;)

My DH hates it when I take food pictures so I don't do often. But my new camera actually has a food portrait setting so that means I have to take food pics. :rotfl:

Go Figure ! LOL!

TOPDOG! THank you ! So how was that Portobello soup? and Artist's Point? other dishes !

Thank you THank you !:worship:

Mary
That Portobello mushroom soup was just stunning. I have it every time when we visit Artist Point. That Southwest Chicken soup from WCC has a little bit of kick. It's probably the second best soup I had in Disney. The Kahlua flavor chocolate cake was fabulous. All the dishes from Wolfgang Puck Cafe were awesome as well.

It was quite challenging since I don't like using flash. Finding the right setting can be quite difficult. Here are some of my shots. I am looking for my next trip so I can do this again.

Your photos look pro-shot. They're amazing. Might I ask what camera you use? Really, they're gorgeous.

Thanks. I was using a Nikon DSLR D200. It's a dinosaur by digital standard. For most of the food pics, I typically shoot it with a 50mm f/1.4 lens.

I can honestly say, I've never, ever seen anyone taking pictures of their food at a restaurant. From all of the food porn I see it's happening all around me but you would never know it!. Wonderful pictures!

Thanks!
