A Disney CM that you just wanted to hug?

It had been a VERY long day at MK with the kids, ages 7, 9, and 10. They had earlier refused to take a break and head back to Riverside to rest and swim after lunch so by the time we had secured a spot for SpectroMagic they were fit to be tied. They weren't being rude and obnoxious to those around us, just the normal poking, prodding, picking on each other, and tattling that only under 10's can really do well.
We were just about ready to strangle them (no, really!) when a very nice CM came over and handed them hula hoops, lighted batons, and those skinny sticks that have streamers on the ends. She then coaxed them out into the 'street' and before we knew it they were laughing, dancing around, and wiggling away with the hula hoops. They had completely forgot to be mean to each other. They were still smiling and being good to each other on the bus ride back to Riverside.
Since we couldn't give her a hug, the next day when we came back to MK to finish up what we had missed my wife stopped at guest services and filled out one of those forms to praise her.

Two greeters at the BC. First it was Art, and this past trip it was Teena. Both are just awesome and made our trips.

:eek:Yes, I was eating lunch with my 3 boys (aged 6 mon, 3 and 6 at the time). They were done eating and I was trying to keep them contained while I shoved food in my mouth. A CM came over with toys and coloring books and played with them. I said "Thank you but you don't need to do that." She said "That's okay, it's my job". I asked what her job was because I thought she was supposed to be cleaning table. She answered "To entertain children so their parents can finish eating." :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc Are you kidding me? I KNEW I LOVED THIS PLACE!!! That was one of the moments I knew I was in a magical world!:thumbsup2

Our waitress at Mama Melrose in 07...we were on the dinning plan on DS was 10 at the time...we also had my DH's 16yr old DS with us who was being a real A-- so anyway..the menu is a little overwhelming for a 10 yr old and he was feeding off the snotty attitude of the 16 yr old and was saying that he was not going to eat because he did not like anything (OMG we have spaghetti weekly!!)...the waitress overheard, promptly went to the kitchen, brought out the chef who spent 10 minutes talking with my son about what he would eat and made him a special meal just for him!!!:lovestruc:lovestruc

Even though at that time tips were included in the dinning plan we left her a $30 tip!!!:wizard:

Many wonderful CMs but our favourite is one of the CM's who delivers the bags to the rooms at CSR - Rupert. He has been there our last couple of trips and always chats about the UK football scores to my DS even remembering when he sees us on the Sunday to update us on the scores.

My daughter (12)has special needs and she was in full crazy mode last year while we were at Disney. I had my Cellier ressies..you know the one you love and dream of before getting to Disney.
So, we get to dinner and my nutty child was just being a snotty pia. She decided our waiter "Patrick" was so cute and was trying to flirt with him. Bless his heart, he did what he could to get her out of her mean mode. He finally told her if she would behave he would let her take a picture of him. While she wasnt perfect, it was a lot better than before. I got to eat my meal, she got her picture and a very bad time was made a lot better by a special fellow.
I did go to guest relations and wrote a card for him there.

BTW she still has her picture of Patrick. For his sake I hope he has headed back to Canada by now, as we will be there May 1st. Patrick..take the day off may 1s :rotfl:

This was about 3 years ago, DD was 3. We were there alone. I managed to somehow push the stroller, and manage our food trays, with our drinks at cosmic rays. I made it to the one available table not occupied, got DD out of the stroller, and situated. Then I realized, I had no napkins. Sounds like something stupid to be worried about, but with a 3 year old eating at the table, I knew there would be some sort of crumbs/ketchup on the table. I just stood there at the table, not knowing what to do. I had a table full of food, in a crowded restaurant, with a 3 year old. I couldn't leave her at the table by herself, but was worried that someone would think we just left our food there, and take our table if we went together. (Remember, at Cosmic Rays, the condiments/napkins are up top. We were right in front of Cosmic Ray himself). Well, a CM obviously was watching as I stood at the table looking perplexed and asked what was going on. Needless to say, she went and grabbed some napkins. I was so thankful. I went right to guest services and wrote her a letter of thanks. Like I said, it seems trivial, but oh how it meant so much.

Randy from the Magic Kingdom first aid center.

We were sitting down to watch the parade and DD got very sick. Stomach cramps, weeping, etc. We took her to the first aid center. Randy said there had been a stomach bug going around -- and here was the great part.

He called a Disney rep to come and take us back to our hotel. They actually took us through the backstage part of the park and loaded us into a Disney van and took us straight back to the hotel.

That was INCREDIBLE customer service to me. I hadn't even considered the idea that they would escort us home -- but it saved us a really awful trip back on a bus. To think that a Disney employee would take the time to help us like that. Wow.

I will forever love and appreciate Randy for helping us out that day.

Kind of a sad reason to hug, but here's why:

A few years ago, DH and I were having lunch at 50's Prime Time. Our server was one of the BEST we've ever had. My dh and the server were going back & forth non-stop, it was hilarious. Lots of people in our section were laughing hysterically at the two of them.

Then a large group was seated next to us. The group was mostly comprised of men in their 20's and 30's. When our server approached their table to get their drink order, he started goofing around with these guys, much in the same manner he was acting with my dh. I have to add that our server was very obviously gay (which...who cares, right? but it's part of the story). I guess these guys were uneasy with our waiter, and they began making fun of him and giving him a very hard time. He jokingly went back at them (nothing bad, just silly stuff). So you know what these young men did? They got the restaurant manager and complained that the server was acting inappropriately. And, to make things worse, they did their complaining in front of all the other guests. The waiter was removed from our area, and was replaced with a waiter who was clearly instructed not to interact with this group. Very sad.

After we were done with our meal, I found our original waiter and apologized for the ridiculous behavior of the ignorant guests, and gave him a great tip (hoping it would make him feel a little appreciated). DH and I also approached the manager and told him how great we thought the server was!

That was my "I just wanna hug him" moment.

I saw something very similar to the OP, before Spectro. She got a whole bunch of kids together and played Duck, Duck, Goose and other games as the areas were being roped off. The kids were having such a good time, SO and I (60 and 30) were jealous and very much wanted to join in!

This made me so, so sad. I'm glad that there are wonderful people such as yourself and your husband.
