Great review! The dessert party looks INCREDIBLE! I gotta try that sometime!
BTW I have to say, when i first read the list of food your husband eats, I skimmed thru it quick...so at first i thought you were honestly talking about one of your kids. I honestly didnt read the part where you mentioned it was your husband. Is that really all he eats? he wont even eat ice cream with real vanilla specks in it? or rice crispy treats with choc on it? No fruit? no veggies? No meat at all? Wow, that must be tough to deal with on a daily basis. Esp on vacation! How do you cook dinner for the family? Im just curious. Good luck to you!
Keep the reviews coming, theyre great!
I don't think I could handle being with someone with that diet LOL! We are serious foodies. It also doesn't sound very healthy. He needs to have at least veggies in his diet. Gonna have to pick up that Jessica Seinfeld book and sneak some vegetables in to his diet LOL!
I totally agree...I was thinking the same thing about the kids, i hope theyre not following in his footsteps. But it looks like the mom is doing all the right things to allow the kids to experiment with different foods/restaurants at WDW.Wow, I just have to say you have my sympathy. I can't imagine how hard it is to menu plan with your DH being so picky. I hope the kiddos aren't following in his footsteps!
The dessert party looked amazing, we need to try it! Thanks for the review!
OP, I cannot imagine how hard it must be for all of you to work around his picky eating habits/diet. But it sounds like your doing the right thing for your girls, you have a system that works. You guys go to a restaurant you like, while he does his own thing and eats what he likes. Smart thinking!! BTW I think hypnotism or therapy is a good idea. You've got nothing to lose really. I suggested my coworker seek therapy as she has the same diet as your DH.It really is ALL he'll eat. When I cook for everyone, he just throws a Jack's cheese pizza in or has a grilled cheese. IF we go out to eat, he ends up ordering off the kids' menu which is HORRIBLY embarrassing. We can never go to a nice steak place or anything like that. I made some of the ADR's without him (places like Cape May & Boma)... it just didn't pay for him to be there and he gets that. I have tried everything to get him to change but he is stubborn and not going to change for anything. We'd like to try getting him hypnotized maybe. Disney is even a challenge... you would think there are pizzas & grilled cheeses everywhere but not really. I map the places out that he will eat at and let him fend for himself while we get something yummy.
Great reviews so far! Can't wait to read more.
Your kids are adorable!

Loving this so far. I had to add LTT to my ADR's after seeing the meal that you had there. DS would love the cheesesticks and the pot roast looks heavenly.
Im glad to hear your kids are not turning out like their dad. your doing all the right things mom!My kids know how weird their dad is... lol... I took my son to the Food & Wine Festival last fall and he tried so many different things. They will not be like him.. no way! I think we are going to give the hypnosis a try... he has to be willing first though.
At least you get to cook your own meals/kids meals separately. If you had to accommodate him constantly, that would be really tough. I hope he'd be open to hypnosis. Not sure if he'd realise that means you guys can have more family meals together at a variety of restaurants. And he could order from the adult menu!Thank you!!!
When we first started dating he would eat a little bit more than he does now... like bacon, spaghetti, etc. I have tried to blend in veggies into his spaghetti sauce (or even just hamburger) and he has caught me doing it. That ended anymore spaghetti eating so I have stopped trying to force it. There is just no changing him. Some people think I have it easy with not having to cook but I LOVE to cook and that means that me & the kids end up eating something for 3-4 days straight I try to use the arguement that it's not healthy but he's in great shape. He's skinny & the strongest man I've ever met in my life. I just don't get it. I always joke that I need to go on his diet to lose a few pounds but if I ate like that, I would be 500 lbs.!
Too funny. Just FYI--just because he is skinny, doesn't mean he isn't lacking nutrients and essential vitamins from the fruit and veggies. My sister's children are VERY picky. She said the Jessica Seinfeld cookbook even has subbing veggies in to desserts, so maybe you can make them when he's at work and have a little inner chuckle when he eats them and loves them. If not, maybe a good multivitamin will have to do? Good for you for trying!!
He wasn't a fan of the waffle fries (weird shapes make them taste different, don't ya know?)
My grandfather is this way about pasta, he will only eat spaghetti noodles all of the other 'don't taste right.'
DH is the same way with pasta as well. We went to a fancier Italian place one time and they gave him penne pasta for his mac & cheese. He refused to eat it.
