Thank you for the add to the list IrishCowboy. It seems we have confusion by some as to what month we are going. We are in July right???? I'm known for my ability to be confused and confunded.

But, all should be welcome who are sailing in the Med in the summer of '13. (and others who may stop by Besides, if the one's going in June keep dropping by, maybe they'll give us some tips after they return and before we actually leave. I prefer to learn from the good and the bad that others have done, so that I don't make as many mistakes as I usually wind up doing on my own.

We booked a "place holder" cruise whilst onboard the 10 night med last year (2011) in the hope that Disney would be back in Europe in 2013 and in particular - Venice! So...we've transferred onto this sailing Hi to both Helen and Kate. Helen, G has emailed L - she is super excited to learn that we're on the same trip again, they had such a fantastic time last year. This will be our 4th trip on the Magic and, like Helen, I'm happy to answer any questions anyone may have.

I noted that your DD is 11 now and will be 13 on the cruise. My DD is 11 now, but won't actually turn 13 until 3 weeks after we get back. I'm not sure how that is going to work with the clubs. I'm sure she can't get into the teen club, but I hope the younger clubs will be okay for her.

PS - Very jealous of the back to back. But, congratulations, it sounds like so much fun.

This will be the first time I have taken more than one week off since I was in school.

DD had made friends with 3 other girls here on the Disboards and they went everywhere together, it really was the best holiday they have ever had. We are myself (dw), dh and dd who will have just turned 14 when we sail. As Helenreed has mentioned it's great if the children can get chatting before we sail, it certainly breaks the ice! My dd and Helen's dd (along with another 2 girls) got chatting before our med cruise last summer and arranged to meet in the terminal prior to boarding (all wearing the pre-arranged LARGE sunglasses ) and then spent the next 10 days hanging out - they had an amazing time and still keep in touch now! They used the wave phones to make arrangements, went to shows, the cinema, had lunch, pool parties, kids clubs - you name it, they did it! My dd says it was her best cruise EVER! You're more than welcome to pm me your email address if your dd would like to get in touch.

Sounds like the group so far will be just out of my DD's age range. I'll think I'll keep that one a little quiet until the group gets larger. Luckily, DD only watches over my shoulder on weekends. A lot of my lurking and posting happens between breaks at work.

And the group grows. I mentioned to DD about chatting. She's thinking about it.

We had a hiccup over the weekend. Spend Saturday night at the emergency room with DD experiencing pain in her right side. So far no explanaition. All blood levels are normal. No gallstones (okay, who ever heard of gall stones in a skinny 11 year old???) and no kidney stones. Everything functioning normally. Now, more tests. The doctors are leaning toward scoliosis and displacement of organs. The curve was very slight a few months ago, I haven't noticed any changes, but she grow about 3 inches in the past three or four months.

Anyway, we got to see her on morphine. She's was in the emergency room quoting Mel Brooks movies.

Now she has vicodin for the pain. The pain is enough that she doesn't even get loopy from the medication. I hope this resolves soon.

Any suggestions on making the roll call better??
