2011 Horror Nights

All kinds of drinkers attend HHN...some hold their liquor better than others. I don't drink and I've never really seen anyone get completely out of hand. I just ignore them.

ahem................remember sunday 2 years back???

ahem................remember sunday 2 years back???

The worst I've ever seen was last year after the RIP tour. As we were boarding the boat back to RPR, there was an individual on the boat dock, who was so drunk that he was completely out of it with a dazed look and couldn't stand. Of course, he could have gotten drunk at the Citywalk bars (which is very probable) instead of at HHN. Hopefully, the dock attendants contacted medical and they checked him for alcohol poisoning. This was on a Friday night at 2am, which is when HHN ends and the Citywalk bars close.

How scary is it really? I really enjoy haunted houses, but I tend to get scared really easy. We do Fright Night at Six Flags every year, and in general that's the right amount for me. But I had a bad experience once, and now I'm worried.

Do the actors or characters pay attention if they've gone too far? Like, if they see you're not just having fun anymore, will they stop? Last time at Six Flags I got hit with something that was just too much for me to handle, and while my boyfriend was trying to escort me out and calm me down, they kept coming at me. I know they are like to focus on people who are scared, but by the time I was sobbing on the floor with my head between my knees, I figured they should have stopped. Only one actor heard and knocked the two around me and told them to back off before escorting me out and warning them not to scare me.

So, long story short, I'm really scared of something like that happening if I go to HHN.... Is that likely?:confused3

i used to go to Fright Nights at Mid America and also Great America.
hhn is nothing like those places.
not even close.

if you are scared and the scareactors know it, you are dead meat.
those are the ones they go after.

they won't necessarily do what they did at six flags for you.
if they knock on the ground, maybe more scareactors will come...

check out the you tube videos of past hhn.
it will give you a better idea of what is happening in the park.

if you enjoy horror flicks, you would enjoy hhn.

Does your area have the really intense stand-alone haunted houses around Halloween? They usually cost $15 and up and are known for being quite scary.

I do that type and from my understanding from other haunted house enthusiasts, HHN's houses are much like those. They will likely be much worse than anything Six Flags comes up with.

I had the opposite experience - went ten years ago this fall and was blown away. We had no idea what it was about, just that the name sounded pretty neat and the map and brochure for the event (that I still have) made it sound creepy. We had such a blast and have been dying to go back, which I am thinking of doing this year.

My only criticism is that the scare houses, other than the theme of each, seemed a lot alike in their scare effects. After a couple of them you knew what to expect. Still, way better party than that lame-o they throw at MK!

Easssyyyy- remember that MNSSHP is for KIDS! I wouldn't bring a 4 yo to HHN. I probably wouldn't bring a 13yo come to think of it.

I have only been to one HHN, but what really stood out in my mind was the number of security people all over. I saw two potential situations where someone was acting loud and out of control, but security was there so fast and when they requested back-up, they arrived in all directions really quick. It was quite impressive.

you will see many of orlando police in uniform throughout the park.
what you don't realize that there are many many security dressed as tourists in the park during hhn...........

you just never know how much universal puts into security for the safety of all.

My family has an annual pass this year.We are planning on going the first weekend in Oct.Last year we bought the stay and scream ticket and loved it.How can we add the stay and scream to our ap ticket or what is our options.

go to the ap website and buy the hhn ticket there.
it will be discounted due to your ap.

all the tickets for the event are HHN tickets.

stay and scream is just a term used.

if a person has a day ticket and wants to stay for the evening hhn event, they can buy what is called the add on,
commonly known as the "S & S ticket".
you stay longer in the park and you get to scream during the event...

When you say "hit with something" were you physically hit? Or just emotionally scarred? The houses at Six Flags haunts, in my experience, are a hell of a lot tamer than the ones at HHN. In my experience if you show signs of weakness (i.e. screaming, panicking, freaking out) that's like blood in the water, and the actors are sharks. Having met quite a few of them personally they really tend to relish in people like that and do not let up. I think if you pass out on the ground, they will rush to help, but don't expect them to take it easy on you.

Because you have an AP, you don't need the "stay and scream" ticket. It's just a term used because you stay...and scream. Be in the park before I think 4:30 and they will herd you into a waiting area with the other freaks....errr....AP holders. Once they get the all clear you'll be able to do a few houses before the general gates open.

They will definitey need a separate event ticket for HHN ... and the Stay and Scream option is available to anyone who has daytime admission to the Studios that day and remains in the park. It's not only for AP holders.

... and yes they are offering the S&S ticket again this year

Hi, I'm planning on doing both IOA/US and Halloween Horror Nights, when we vacation at Disney in October. We are planning on purchasing the 2-day tickets with transfer through Dreams Unlimited Travel. I thought that I would be able to add a Scream and Stay ticket onto the daytime tickets I'd be purchased from Dream's Unlimited. I just called Universal to confirm this and the person I spoke with told me I couldn't do that. He said that if I wanted the Scream and Stay ticket, I would have to purchase my General Admission tickets through Universal.

Does anyone know if this information is correct? I thought I would be able to either call, or bring my daytime tickets to the ticket booth at the park, and have the Stay and Scream added onto them.

Thank you!

any day ticket to the park for universal can be used for the 'add on' stay and scream ticket.

go to guest services at the park before 4:00.
show your day ticket and ask to buy the stay and scream, the add on ticket for hhn.

you will get the discounted cost for it.

many many years back the stay and scream ticket came out.

guests in the park during the daytime wanted to stay on for the hhn event for that evening.

the add on tickets were the 'stay and scream' tickets for hhn.

it allowed the day guests to be able to continue with the fun of hhn for the evening by buying the tickets while still in the park.

you can also buy the tickets in advance but i don't know what went wrong with the call you had with the TM.

anyone can call up and say they have the day ticket and want to buy the discounted S & S hhn ticket.
if you bought from universal, that could be proven by a search in gs.

because you bought your ticket from an outside source, you would need to show the day ticket in order to buy the discounted hhn ticket.

I can deal with just being scared. Not a problem for me. It was because I got stuck in an area with the flashing strobe lights sort of thing, which, because of medical issues bothers me a lot and makes it so I can't process things as well as I normally can, and the guy came up back and kept kind of pushing me along with his body making noises in my ear. Even when my boyfriend turned around in all seriousness and asked him to stop, he kept doing it. Thank goodness for the one guy that noticed it and didn't go after me like the others! :worship: He took me out and got me some water.

Not long after that my doctor discovered the (medical) problem and put me on medication to help deal with that and my other problems, so hopefully it will help. Still, maybe I'll avoid any with strobe lights.

there are warnings in the park such as strobe lights are in use.

like another poster that stated, it's gonna be like sharks in the water when they smell fear.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a RIP ticket? And we went to Great America's Fright Night last year and thought the haunted houses were kind of lame.Surely Universal is scarier- right?
