All kinds of drinkers attend HHN...some hold their liquor better than others. I don't drink and I've never really seen anyone get completely out of hand. I just ignore them.
ahem................remember sunday 2 years back???

How scary is it really? I really enjoy haunted houses, but I tend to get scared really easy. We do Fright Night at Six Flags every year, and in general that's the right amount for me. But I had a bad experience once, and now I'm worried.
Do the actors or characters pay attention if they've gone too far? Like, if they see you're not just having fun anymore, will they stop? Last time at Six Flags I got hit with something that was just too much for me to handle, and while my boyfriend was trying to escort me out and calm me down, they kept coming at me. I know they are like to focus on people who are scared, but by the time I was sobbing on the floor with my head between my knees, I figured they should have stopped. Only one actor heard and knocked the two around me and told them to back off before escorting me out and warning them not to scare me.
So, long story short, I'm really scared of something like that happening if I go to HHN.... Is that likely?
Does your area have the really intense stand-alone haunted houses around Halloween? They usually cost $15 and up and are known for being quite scary. How scary is it really? I had the opposite experience - went ten years ago this fall and was blown away. We had no idea what it was about, just that the name sounded pretty neat and the map and brochure for the event (that I still have) made it sound creepy. We had such a blast and have been dying to go back, which I am thinking of doing this year.
My only criticism is that the scare houses, other than the theme of each, seemed a lot alike in their scare effects. After a couple of them you knew what to expect. Still, way better party than that lame-o they throw at MK!
I have only been to one HHN, but what really stood out in my mind was the number of security people all over. I saw two potential situations where someone was acting loud and out of control, but security was there so fast and when they requested back-up, they arrived in all directions really quick. It was quite impressive.
My family has an annual pass this year.We are planning on going the first weekend in Oct.Last year we bought the stay and scream ticket and loved it.How can we add the stay and scream to our ap ticket or what is our options.

They will definitey need a separate event ticket for HHN ... and the Stay and Scream option is available to anyone who has daytime admission to the Studios that day and remains in the park. It's not only for AP holders.Because you have an AP, you don't need the "stay and scream" ticket. It's just a term used because you stay...and scream. Be in the park before I think 4:30 and they will herd you into a waiting area with the other freaks....errr....AP holders. Once they get the all clear you'll be able to do a few houses before the general gates open.
... and yes they are offering the S&S ticket again this yearMy family has an annual pass this year.We are planning on going the first weekend in Oct.Last year we bought the stay and scream ticket and loved it.How can we add the stay and scream to our ap ticket or what is our options.
When you say "hit with something" were you physically hit? Or just emotionally scarred? The houses at Six Flags haunts, in my experience, are a hell of a lot tamer than the ones at HHN. In my experience if you show signs of weakness (i.e. screaming, panicking, freaking out) that's like blood in the water, and the actors are sharks. Having met quite a few of them personally they really tend to relish in people like that and do not let up. I think if you pass out on the ground, they will rush to help, but don't expect them to take it easy on you.
I can deal with just being scared. Not a problem for me. It was because I got stuck in an area with the flashing strobe lights sort of thing, which, because of medical issues bothers me a lot and makes it so I can't process things as well as I normally can, and the guy came up back and kept kind of pushing me along with his body making noises in my ear. Even when my boyfriend turned around in all seriousness and asked him to stop, he kept doing it. Thank goodness for the one guy that noticed it and didn't go after me like the others! He took me out and got me some water.
Not long after that my doctor discovered the (medical) problem and put me on medication to help deal with that and my other problems, so hopefully it will help. Still, maybe I'll avoid any with strobe lights.
