2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

(breathing huge sigh of relief . . .)

Thanks for alll the feedback about the dressy thing. :goodvibes On the usual 4-day cruises DH wears nice pants/tie/jacket and I wear a dressy evening top/skirt. By the description on the Web site, I was starting to think we were expected to look like Cinderella and Prince Charming. It's nice to see that we can probably get away with our usual dressy outfits and won't need a Fairy Godmother to turn us into something from My Fair Lady.

Hi Phil,My daughter is now 18 and she plays for the Lacy Phoenix.Last year they where champions and she should have walked away on top but now they have all new girls and they got a butt kicking today. The game was in east windsor so maybe you worked the game.I live in warren grove near the intersection of 539 and 72.

Not me today, I was in Princeton with little kids. With my foot, I am not up to doing the U14 and older yet. I am in Monroe Twp. off of 8A. I don't recall doing any Lacy teams last year. I know your daughters pain. The U14 boys team I coached went on to win the State high school championship,  and in the spring season got whipped by almost everyone.:confused3 :confused3

Good morning everyone - happy Monday!

I have a few more updates to do on the web page but the weekend was a little busy so I didn't get to them. Hopefully in the next couple of days. Good news is I think I have now heard from everyone I sent e-mails to and everyone is still sailing!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Mary and everyone and Good Morning also:

WOW - what a w/end I had. My sister is here from S.C. for our cruise on Thursday. We are leaving for WDW on Wednesday am and meeting some friends from the Netherlands at 11 am at Port Orleans. Should be a fun week and weekend.

We survived the G/DD's 1st b/day party. I felt like I was a the Fair. So so many people around. Probably around 100 people in all. So many children also. But it was loads of fun and we had lots of food and good times. At one point the pool was full of chldren and their parents.

We took over 700 pics but this is just one of the birthday girl. She had so much fun.

Off to my volunteer work (at the hospital) this morning and my sister is going with me. My supervisor said she could come and do a few things for me. I'm only staying about 3 hours and that is it until next week.

NO tux/gown from us we wanted 4 day cruise so it's casual we may do dockers and slacks but that's as dressed up as I want to get on vacation. See everryone in 38days at the Beach Club. Sound better than 41 on the cruise.

Speaking of Cinderella and Prince Charming, if I remember correctly, one year on the DVC member cruise the men got crowns and the women got tiaras. Mary, does my memory serve me correctly, or was it on another DCL cruise and I am getting mixed up?princess:

You are correct! It was the 2005 DVC Member Cruise and they had a night of Royalty. Of course our DIS group was all over it and we came to dinner in our own crowns. :lmao: Which were ordered from Oriental Trading after a late night chat session.

I am not doing a gown but a nice dress. It's a full length dress.

Hubby will bring his suit. We will enjoy the dress up time as we will be sending the kids to the kids club. We don't get much adult time.

Thanks for all the feedback. I don't think my fairy godmother was going to be up to the challege of trying to turn me into Cinderella and hubbie into Prince Charming, not that he wouldlet her:rotfl:
Cobbler-I know all about not having enough adult/alone time with hubbie what with 6 kids:scared1: :) We will probably put the twins in evening care for acouple of hours since they are the only ones we are bringing with us. :woohoo: Now only if the teenagers don't burn the house down or throw any wild parties.:scared: :lmao:

I'm not going to wear a "gown" either, but will wear a dress probably. Going tomorrow with my sister and she is going to help me get something. If I don't find anything, I will wear a dress that I wore to my DD's wedding a couple of years ago. I think it still fits me. Will find out soon.

LINDA: What 'ya gonna wear??????????
( P.S. - I have a note for Hollywood/Clayton - I won't forget)

Good morning everyone!

Kay is Clayton (aka DJ Hollywood) going to be on our cruise? If so that is awesome! Mark and I sailed with him on the Magic last year and then on the Wonder on the last Member cruise. What a great guy!

I believe he will be. I"ll be finding out for sure this w/end.

I am going to "warn" him that Linda will be onboard soon :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good morning All
From a cloudy day in Maine Nanc and I are counting the days until the 19th when we get The world to relax a few days before we start cruising with all you great people. Although we had watched it before sunday night on the Travel Channel they Were showing Disney behind the scenes. It showed all the Parks and of course 1 hour of the Disney Cruise lines. So that got us going and all excited and ready to go.
Everybody have a Magical Day

Thanks Kay!

I am gonna wear a gown that I can fit in to! :lmao: Probably a purple one. Same one I wore on the Med. cruise this summer. Will be sending out for pressing as soon as we get on board!

OK - I just got back from Sears, JCPenney and found nothing. Guess I am too picky or not in the mood - I do have a nice new bathing suit and a cover up - :confused3

This is Nancy from danandnan. I've been reading everyone's comments about dressing up. The dressiest thing I own that fits since my last trip to Weight Watchers is a skirt (not long) and silky blouse that I wore on the 2005 cruise but have not had on since! I hate to buy something new that I won't wear again. What do you think? Maybe I should go to Goodwill!!!

Nancy: good idea. I would probably find some of my clothes there since I gave them absolutely everything when I got sick :rotfl:

Nancy I think a nice skirt and a silky blouse will work just fine. The important thing is for your to feel comfortable and like how you look.

The thing I have found on past cruises (DVC and otherwise) is that the people here on the boards know more and share more ideas so we get more into things. Those who don't read message boards like this or who don't have internet at all don't worry about these things and have just as good a time.

I know back on the '05 cruise a bunch of us dressed for pirate night (it was still a fairly new thing) and so many people asked how we even knew about it. :lmao:
