1st Trip back to Disney - April 21-26

This was our Family's 1st real Vacation.

Me (Mandy) - 27 Years Old, been to Disney in 1990 and 1998
DH (Chris) - 27 Years Old, been to Disney in 1987
DS (Tyler) - 3 3/4 Years Old, 1st Time at Disney

This trip report is going to be mostly pictures.

We left Baltimore, MD at 7:30pm on April 18 on our way to Spring Hill, FL. We were going there for DH's Cousin's Wedding. We arrived at 10:30am on April 19. We checked into our hotel (Best Western, there was about 10 other Baltimore families staying there as well) and did some swimming. We left Baltimore wearing jeans, t-shirts and jackets and quickly changed into our bathing suits. We were already enjoying the weather. Later that night was the Rehearsal and Dinner. April 20th was the weddding. We spent most of the day at the pool. April 21st was the Family Brunch, than we were off to Disney World. We were staying at Pop Century and had 6 day hopper plus waterpark passes. We were also on the Disney Dining Plan which turned out to be great and let us eat $250 worth of free food.

April 20 - The Wedding Day

That night Tyler slept horrible. He was up all night crying and tossing and turning. He kept saying his ear hurt, which didn't surprise us with all the swimming he was doing. We called his Doctor the next morning and they called in a prescription for him. Thankfully it only took a day to kick in.



April 21 - Family Brunch - Drive to Disney -Pop Century - MGM

Pop Century - We loved our Hotel. We kept going back and forth weather to upgrade to PO-Riverside, but I'm glad we stayed. It was a very nice hotel (of course, I wouldn't mide trying out PO-Riverside also). The food court was awsome, and Tyler loved the splash pad.

MGM - We rode the bus for the 1st time to MGM. DH didn't really know what to expect since he's never been here. Tyler was grumpy and just stayed in the stroller the whole time. We took it very slow and just took every in. We saw the Muppet Movie (the big Muppet that came out scared Tyler, but I remember being scared of him as a kid also), Fantasmic (which Tyler feel asleep while we were waiting, but woke up for the show and LOVED it), and rode the Great Movie Ride.

Fantasmic - This was the BEST show we seen at Disney. I wish we would have seen it again before we left. We had GREAT seats that were right up front in the center.

April 22 - Magic Kingdom - Epcot - Coral Reef

We were supposed to spend most of the day with MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL and our 2 Nephews. They were staying off site and had 2 day hopper passes. We were supposed to meet for the roap drip at 8:45am. We were there and they weren't. So we went ahead without them. Tyler was already feeling better, so we hit some of the rides before the crowds got in. We rode the train around the whole park, did the Tea Cups, Winnie the Pooh, the Speedway, got Poohs Autograph and let Tyler play in Pooh's playground before the got to the park. Than we did Mickeys PhilharMagic, which was the best 3-D show, It's a Small World (rode it 3 times that week), ate Lunch, rode Buzz Lightyear (our favorite ride) and went through Mickeys house before we split up for Dinner.

We left Magic Kingdom a little after 3 to have time to ride the Monorail over and check out some things at Epcot before our Dinner at 5:10pm. We did the Nemo ride which Tyler loved (it's one of his favorite movies) and checked out the aquarium some. We also did the Living with the Land ride which Tyler loved also because it was a boat ride (did this ride twice during the week).

Coral Reef - Dinner was GREAT. It was my favorite meal all the way until the end, than Chef Mickeys replaced it. But it was still our 2nd favorite meal. The steaks were good, but DH's Chocolate Wave Dessert was the best dessert all week. My cheesecake was pretty good, but nothing compared to his. Tyler loved all the ice cream.

Back at Pop Century to get changed and grabed jackets since it was EMH night at Magic Kingdom. The plan was to go back and watch SpectroMagic and the fireworkds. When we got back, there was no where to seat for SpectroMagic, so we decided to catch it another night and moved on to some rides. We were just walking around looking at things and Tyler feel asleep, so we carried him onto Pirates of the Caribbean. We sat him on the seat between us and kinda snuggled him. He stayed asleep through the whole ride, which I'm glad because it wouldn't have been a ride that he liked. He gets easily scared. We decided to just sit down and people watch and ate a Pinapple Float. We left the park around 12:30am.

April 23 - Ohana's - MGM

Ohana's was pretty good. This was our first Character meal. We loved the characters and thought the food was pretty good. Chris thought that it was just a breakfast and the food wasn't anything special. I liked it, but I didn't eat much since I'm not a breakfast person. Tyler didn't want to participate in the parade, it was an early morning for him.

MGM - We met MIL and FIL at MGM and did the Indiana Jones show. It was a neat show, but long. Tyler was ready to go meet the Power Rangers. Once we got there he was scared of them and picked the pink one to get an autograph (Pink is his favorite color). Later on BIL and SIL and family met us over there for Dinner. We had to many people to keep track of and pretty much didn't do anything besides walking back and forth. The guys got on Tower of Terror and MIL and I took Tyler to see Beauty and the Beast (where he fell asleep). We also took Tyler in the Honey I shunk the kids playground (which was really neat), before the parade.

Toy Story Pizza Planet - FIL wanted to treat us all to Dinner at a restaurant. But we couldn't get in because we didn't have any reservations (which had been an on going argument since they started planning a trip, because I wanted to make reservations to places and they thought it wasn't nessaory). The food was pretty good for being pizza. This worked out great for us because we already used our Table Service meal for the day and we wer down a Counter Service meal since we used it on the last day.

April 24 - Animal Kingdom - Pop Century - Whispering Canyon Cafe - Magic Kingdom

Animal Kingdom was hot and crowded. We only stayed until after lunch and left. We got fast passes for the Kilimonjaro Safaris, than went on the train ride to the Conservation Station. We didn't stay long at the Conservation Station, just long enough to walk through, get an autograph and visit the gift shop (and bought a stuffed zebra and sent it back to the room so we could go on the rapids, which we never did). Tyler just really wanted to go on the train ride. When we got back we did the Safari and were able to see lots of animals. Than we ate lunch at Tusker House and headed over to It's a Bugs Life. I seen this before, but DH and Tyler haven't. We were hoping Tyler would like it since he loves the movie, but he didn't. This was the only 3-D movie that he ended up screaming in. We just had him close his eyes, since it was the end. It was way to hot to stay in the park (with no shade) so we headed back to Pop Century to go in the pool.
