11/27/04 the sequel.....

I hope that is the case - the cruise line said you will get them when you check in at the port but i would love to know ahead of time.

Hi everyone and welcome to all the new additions!

It seems like I've missed so much since I last logged in. Tracey, I'm so sorry about your grandmother. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Izzinmac, I'm glad that you and your family are safe after all the hurricane activity.

I can't believe we're sailing next month! I'm so excited that I brought a suitcase upstairs and started packing
:Pinkbounc

Denise, thank you for continuing to update the list! We have the early dinner seating and I booked the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel (12:15) and we're thinking about the Dolphin and Stingray Encounter.

How do we book the REASP, through our TA or through Disney? I think I'm going to request the PLA rotation, but not sure which night to go to Palo. Any thoughts from the experienced cruisers on the dining rotation and Palo night?? I'm thinking an at sea day would be a good choice so we don't have to rush back to the ship on an island day.

Amanda and others wanting penpals, our DD Nicole is 7 and would love a penpal. She loves soccer, gymnastics, baseball and anything Disney. Our DS Matthew is 5 and if his sister is making friends on the computer he'll want to do it too LOL. I'd be happy to send picures if that helps.

Have a great day,
Gailyn

Hi Kim - Welcome. We're having a DIS Meet on Saturday at 3:00 near the Outlook Bar. You can give us your cabin number then.

dtuleya - put us down for Early Seating. DS5 is a great kid at restaurants, but finishing dinner at 10:00 is more than we could ask from him. Besides, I can't stay up as late as I used to and going to bed on a full stomach is not fun.

Thanks everyone for letting me know you put kids names on your door magnets. Seemed safe to me too ... until someone else mentioned it.

Matt is going to have a ball looking for the green Mickey heads. I figure it will keep him entertained while we wait to board. He can go in search of them. Heck .. I'm going to have fun looking around for them too.

Diane

so ... what's the consensus .... are we having a "DIZ" meet or a "DIS" meet? This pronunciation question came up several months ago and I think it was 50-50. How do you guys pronounce it?

Diane

How do we book the REASP, through our TA or through Disney? I think I'm going to request the PLA rotation, but not sure which night to go to Palo.
:sunny:

You book it through your travel agent. Look at the navigator's on www.dcltribute.com to figure out when you want to schedule your Palo Dinner and/or Brunch and your massages.

Here's another question I have for everyone...how dressed up are you getting for formal and semi-formal nights??? My guys are wearing dark suits for both nights. I can't believe they agreed to it! We talked about tuxes, but quite frankly I didn't want to go to the expense of renting three tuxes and buying a formal gown for myself. I was lucky because oldest DS just bought a suit for homecoming and I got a great gently used Land's End Blazer for youngest DS on Ebay for $20! I'm thinking of a pant suit for semi-formal night and some type of a black dress for formal. I've been looking, but just can't find what I want.:(

I'm wearing a dark suit for formal night and a blazer and tie for semi-formal. My DW hasn't picked out anything yet, but she's leaning toward a dark pants suit for both nights. My DS12 will probably wear a blazer and tie for formal night. The rest (10 and under) will be wearing nice shirts and pants or dresses (our DS3 will probably try to wear both at the same time!)

Hi everyone!

Time is really starting to tick away! It is getting cooler here and I'm thinking of packing some things away this weekend:)

We have early seating.

About the green mickey heads. I'm sorry -- but how are we doing this? Are we producing them ourselves or is there a site I should go to? I know it was mentioned earlier but I missed the final outcome.

See you all really soon:wave:

Jenn

:earsboy: :earsgirl: pirate: pirate:

For formal night DH will wear a suit and the boys will wear blazers, dress shirts with ties. Semi formal I think DH will wear a blazer and dress shirt and boys will wear dress shirts and ties. I am thinking either a black dress or dk navy for formal. Not sure yet about semiformal.
Jennifer - if you have a home depot close to you - get the mickey heads from the paint department.

I was just going through my "Disney" box today and found a whole handful of Mickey heads...perfect timing! Will have to spend some time putting them on my luggage! Also pulled out my Brita bottle, laundry tablets/dryer sheets, medicines...all that kind of stuff that I usually take to WDW and put it right in my "cruise" bag! Yippee!! I can't believe how close we are getting! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: I even tried on my snorkel mask again!

As for formal wear, my younger sis got married this past June, and so I am planning on wearing my bridesmaid dress! I'm hoping my niece is still planning on wearing hers...they are beautiful! She thought it would be fun to "match", but you know teenagers-she'll probably change her mind once onboard! ;) I know I'm bringing a number of sundresses and a nice sparkly pantsuit for Palo. I'm leaning toward making our "adult" (party of 9) Palo ressies for Wednesday, December 1st ~6pm (would like to be able to see out the windows if possible)...but I'm still not sure! The only thing I'm worried about is cutting our time in St. Martin short...??

Good to hear from so many people!
:p IVY :p

For the past week or so, I've been listening to the Big Band and Swing channel on our satellite TV while I do my work because it reminds me of the music you hear onboard in the hallways and on the room TV on certain information channels. It also reminds me of TOT at MGM, but that's another trip. I like this sort of music anyway, but DH thinks I've flipped my pancake. Maybe I've become too obsessed with this...

Also got a happy surprise in the mail today. Apparently our state's insurance commission has resolved their rate dispute with the insurance companies and we got a refund from GEICO for overpayment the last 2 years. Got $130 back that I totally didn't expect. That takes care of the tips!!!! Yahoooo!!!!

Disneefun: For all of the planning and preparation (and cost) getting to the cruise and all of the fun while on board, I wish it could be bottled. I think music is a great way to be reminded of it (I read earlier in the week about someone wanting a Bahama Mama recipe for the same reason). I wasn't as fortunate as you--I got a $5 class action settlement from Toshiba two weeks ago, that will cover.........um, half the cost of snacks at the airport!

I knew most of you guys would be packing OR thinking about packing!!!! I haven't opened the suitcase yet, but I've got my list updated, I'm buying whatever we dont' have and starting to plan clothes.

Last March we cruised on Carnival. I was on the boards with people from the cruise and mentioned that I had started packing - 2 weeks before the cruise. You would have thought I said "2 years" ahead. Everyone who replied said they wouldn't consider packing THAT EARLY ... and this was the women - I know men just throw in their stuff at the last minute. (ps ... we loved the Carnival cruise and so did Matt (DS5) but the people on the boards were no where near as friendly)

Diane

Ok, I have to confess...my suitcases are in the living room and I have 3 tote bags full of goddies I need to start sorting through. I'm going to be in serious trouble on December 5th!

Denise - please change my pre-cruise hotel to the Hampton Inn. The Holiday Inn (Cocoa Beach) is closed until 2005 due to Hurricane damage so I had to switch. Nice of Priceline to let me cancel ... LOL. We'll be staying at All Star Movies after the cruise (2 nights).

Anyone else have hotel problems caused by the hurricanes?

Diane

NJ Cruisers: I know how you feel. I mentioned to my DW last night that we really need to sit down and go over a packing list and start doing some planning. From her look, I had to check the mirror and make sure I hadn't suddenly grown Mickey ears. I'm sure my DW will do just fine packing a week before the cruise. But in our household, that week could quickly turn into just one day, so I feel much better watching my Disney box fill up with things we'll need.

Hi
I am not new i just had to switch my user name my old one was eeyoreandpooh. We are in rooms 6630 & ? and celabrateing my 16th birthday.princess:

Oh my goodness, all you guys make me laugh with this packing thing - LOL!

The funny thing is that I'd be packing too, thinking about all the xtra stuff to bring [laundry stuff, underwater cameras, etc.] & going crazy about it, if it wasn't for the practice I had doing it for our 9/4 cruise. We were all packed & ready to go & no place to go...Frances got in the way! So I think I know exactly [well, I think I do] what to bring & how to pack everything in my suitcases. That is, however, just for myself & dd8.

As for my dh, I'll need to help him this time around. For the 9/4 trip, he told not to worry about his packing since I was doing so many other things - you know, cleaning the house, running to the stores to get last min. things, packing for me & dd, etc. A day & a half before the trip he decides to pack & ends up w/ 3 suitcases & a carry-on bag!!! I was dying of laughter b/c I had 1 suitcase each for me & dd. I asked him, "what the heck are you bringing to this trip or are you moving out?!"

Anyway, needless to say, I will pack him this time around. It'll be easy for us b/c we'll be well into our cold weather here in PA, so packing the summer stuff should be a breeze. Also, our dd won't notice any of her clothes missing...shhh!, she doesn't know we've rebooked the trip.
