Hey Stephanie! I've been trying to keep up with all my subscriptions but have gotten so far behind! I feel horrible!
I am constantly behind on the threads I am reading. I keep a list running of them, so I know what page I left on the last time I could read it. You can say I am a bit OCD if you like...
I need to go back & read a few pages of yours, but first wanted to comment on your most recent posts! First of all, I love the invitations! They all look so pretty & will be great for your daughter! She will be so excited when she sees them! I wanted to make them for my son but decided to wait until next trip. This year, he just wouldn't have understood (although now I'm regretting it because he would've recognized his name and also the Disney characters so maybe he would've like to have them).
Thank you! There is always the next trip! There are things I wanted to do for this trip that I am not going to get done most likely since I only have 18 days!
I can't wait to hear about the tea when you get back from your trip. I have never been to one myself but have seen photos on other trip reports. The dining rooms always look so pretty & it looks like so much fun for the little girls (and mommies too!) I was actually thinking about the Disney tea party the other day...I was watching "Reba" on tv and saw Brock take Kiera to a tea party (it was an old episode). I started laughing because EVERYTHING makes me think of Disney!!!
I am really excited about the tea. It will be my first experience at tea unless I take Lilian to the tea house near our home. Of course everything reminds you of Disney!! You are a Disney nut like all of us here on DIS!
I thought it was a good idea to buy your daughter a doll for her birthday. If I had a little girl & changed tea parties, I would've felt the same exact way that you did...I would've been sad not to get the Disney doll! I've seen them before & they are too adorable! I also think its great to let her pick out a few outfits for her doll! She'll love that!
The doll is really cute in person!! I am looking forward to getting it for her. The tea is a thank you gift for the ladies traveling down (and the golf is the guy's present) and I feel this is the better route to go with that in mind. I still wanted DD to have the doll though!
I was also just thinking about your trip isn't very far away now!!! How exciting!!! When I clicked on the link to your report, I went back to the first few pages & read them again, so I wanted to post this about the characters. I'm sure you already have a list made up, but I learned alot about the characters locations from our trip in June. Here are some of the ones you mentioned:
* Handy Manny & Little Einsteins -- Disney Hollywood Studios (to the right of Playhouse Disney Live)
* Toy Story characters -- Disney Hollywood Studios (Animation Studios -- not sure which ones are there)
* Pocahontas -- at Rafiki's Planet Watch @ Animal Kingdom (also Rafiki & Jiminy Cricket were there)
* Alice in Wonderland, Marie the cat, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine & Aladdin, Snow White, Pooh/Tigger/Eeyore -- Epcot's World Showcase (I can't remeber the countries for all but Marie & Sleeping Beauty were in France, Jasmine/Aladdin were in Morocco, Pooh/Tigger/Eeyore were inside the toy store in UK, not sure of the others)
Thanks Hope!
We also always see Pooh/Tigger/Eeyore right outside one of the countries at Animal Kingdom. I wanted to say its right at the entrance before you go into Asia but I might be mistaken. I think its one of my favorite spots to see them. The background props are really cute & themed for Animal Kingdom (like wooden trunks, fancy painted vases, etc). There are certain times when they are there...we saw them this trip right before their last time (I think around 4:15 but I'm not sure) I will look back through my pictures from our AK day & let you know for sure on this.
I just wanted to write that because I always obsess over getting pictures with the characters! I think I drove DH crazy in June. There was a HUUUUGE line for Chip & Dale at DHS and I said to him..."you know if I were alone on this trip, I would be standing in that crazy long line for Chip & Dale." And he just said "yeah, I know" and kept walking! LOL I just figure that my son won't be little for very long & once boys get a certain age, they won't stand beside the characters or have their pictures taken by mom anymore! Girls don't outgrow it as fast as boys do. Probably in a few years, my DH and DS will be riding the roller coasters & Fast Pass rides while mommy's getting her picture taken with the Disney characters! lol I can see it now! Anyway, just wanted to mention where those characters were. If you have any other specific ones you're looking for, let me know & I'll tell you if we saw them!
Your DS is young enough to be able to go back and appreciate the characters still--especially the Playhouse Disney ones. You never know what DS is going to like.
Ok...back to catch up on your pre-trip report!!! Congrats for being under 20 days now!!!!
