ª"˜ª¤.¸Official Team May 2014 Thread!¸.¤ª˜"ª

We all got up and started to do the single digit dance :dancer:...9 more days and I still have a ton of things to do .

11 for us and yes, still a ton of stuff left to do. One of the disadvantages of planning a surprise trip for me; but, things are coming together. Although looking at my checklist I would like to have more done; there are some things I had dated to complete around May 20th. I am behind on printing the invitations for our character meals and stuff. I was going to do it yesterday during dd’s last session with the reading specialist, but just as I was choosing a computer, an announcement came over the speaker that “Learning with Legos” was starting. My son heard it and that was it. We ended up in there instead. We do have to go back next week, but just to return some books; so, I’m not sure when I’ll get those printed. I may have to think of another way to reveal those activities.

I went over a lot of details yesterday. I work from home on Tuesdays and during each break I was checking over items that are going with us. I pulled most of the new stuff from the 3 different hiding places I had and put it all in one of our summer vacation boxes. We only started taking summer trips 4 years ago after dh passed (if he was able to travel he preferred either fall or spring) so we started a box where I keep things we generally need when we go away during the summer like hats, visors, misting fans, day bags and such. I took dd’s BBB gown out of the shipping container and put it way back in my walk-in closet for some hang time before it goes into the suitcase. I also started laying my son’s clothes out in his room. But I do that each summer to take inventory and determine if I bought enough so it doesn’t raise any suspicion.

I usually feel like a trip is approaching so slowly; but, it almost feels like this one is sneaking up on me. Almost. Probably the fact that it is so close to the end of the school year. Pretty sure the 2 days in between dd getting done with school on the 22nd, and the day before we leave (24th) when I tell the children about the trip, will feel like a snail took the controls.

It's my birthday!!! Yay!! At Epcot today! Crowds are a little on the higher side, in my opinion, but happy happy happy to be here!!! : )

Once you’re on the trip, the hourly forecast is your friend. It’s generally been really helpful for me when traveling. So far it shows the hours MSEP and Wishes are on as cloudy with just an 18% chance of rain tomorrow night. Earlier around 7 there’s showers 63% chance and also between 3 and 5 a 51% chance. Of course it will be a little closer to accurate tomorrow.

It's not always spot on, but it helps. Once we were on Spring Break in Virginia beach. I had my children and their sitter. The day we planned to tour the zoo, I used the hourly. We drove to the zoo in pouring rain, saw pretty much the whole zoo with no rain and were walking out when it started again. Boy was my daughter impressed. :lmao:

Great suggestion! It looks like tomorrow might be the only iffy weather day for our short trip so hopefully it isn't a washout! But a washout at Disney is better than anything at home!

I love reading everyones updates. Keep us in the know.
For the people that leaving shortly (like myself) I also love reading the to do's before the trip! Makes my time fly by faster.

We decided to rent a car and drive down Saturday morning. Planning on leaving at 7am from Michigan and drive straight down to WDW!! Love road trips! The plan is to be at Wilderness lodge by Sunday morning, check in, freshen up and start our magical trip!

Keep the updates coming!

Who was looking for the Glow with the Show Ears??

They had plenty of them last night when we went to the 9:00 showing of Fantasmic!

I was looking for the Glow with the Show ears! I'm glad that they were available!

Where exactly can we purchase the glow with the show ears? I want to make sure we get to buy them this trip. Any idea how much they are?

Thanks for the live posts and I sure hope the rain stays away for everyone down there right now. We will be then on Friday!!!

Has anyone noticed any changes to their FP+ plans for May 23 at MK during the 24 hours? Today I was double checking all our FP before we leave on May 16 and noticed our FP+ to meet Rapunzel was gone so I called Disney. To my surprise I was given a 24 fast pass to use at Rapunzel or Mickey or Ariel or Anna/Elsa. I was so a happy to start getting pixie dust before our trip starts!!!!

Also has anyone else heard the rumors that they are going to have a soft opening for 7 dwarves on May 23 as well?

The Glow Ears were being sold inside Fantasmic before the show starts. CMs were walking around carrying them on trays like the popcorn boxes. No idea how much they were.

I accomplished two things today for our Friday departure - I got a pedicure and found the charger for the camera battery. So we will be wearing the same clothes all week, and have to buy overpriced baby gear, but I have nice toes and we can take lots of pictures...

They were a strange price when I saw them in one of the shops along the street in HS. Under $25 though :)

OMG!OMG!OMG! Sorry, just a little excited. :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :rotfl: :cheer2: We leave a week from tomorrow, and arrive a week from Saturday!! Single digits baby!!

Thanks for all the posts on the Glow with the Show Ears. I hope I can pick up 8 of them tomorrow somewhere in Epcot. Yes, tomorrow is our arrival day!!!

Here are the places the Disney website lists that sell the ears. I'm sure though people will be interested to hear if you do find them at Epcot.

•Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom park
•Mickey’s of Hollywood on Hollywood Boulevard
•Sunset Ranch Souvenirs and Gifts on Sunset Boulevard
•Celebrity 5 & 10 on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
•Beverly Sunset on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

I can tell this trip is getting close as it is getting harder and harder to focus on work. After today I have 5 shifts left. I’m off on the 21st for my daughter’s Elementary School graduation.

I got a couple of things accomplished today. I prepaid for Memory Maker and I removed my daughter from the Pirate’s League reservation. I’d been meaning to do it for a while and just got around to it today. When I mentioned it (getting made over like a Pirate or a Mermaid) to her hypothetically, she wasn’t thrilled. She said she liked girl pirates, but had no interest in being made up like a mermaid. But she said the pirate thing sounded like something that would be fun for her brother.

It is really for him and she has BBB earlier in the week. I had booked her along with him in case he was nervous, but I think he’ll be fine. He’s had his face painted before and loved it. Plus I showed him pictures of the place and a boy his age who’d had it done and he said he wanted to do it. They don’t charge the fee if a child is scared so I removed her today. When I did the CM said it changed our time from 12:40 to 11:25. She was trying to change it back, but was having trouble. I took a quick look at our fast passes for that day and told her 11:25 was fine. It actually will probably work out better. We’ll just have to have a snack first since lunch will be delayed.

Our Anna and Elsa fast passes also ended up being from 1:55 to 2:55 the same day and I know she wouldn’t want to meet them made up like a pirate anyway. So I got her an Anna and Elsa skirt set on Etsy a while ago. It’s a pettiskirt and a t-shirt. She loves pettiskirts. She wore them quite a bit on our trip last summer.

Currently sitting on the auto train to Sanford as I type this. With WiFi and dinner at 7, this 17 hour trip will FLY by. Hope everyone is having a great week! :thumbsup2

8 more days until we are off :cool1:. I finally went into my closet today and pulled out my clothes that I want to bring. I also ran to Target and finished buying the vanity items and of course DH said that he will need new socks and such so I bought those too. I just have a few more days of work left, umpteen loads of laundry, and start cleaning my house. Oh yeah, I have to bath the dog and clip his nails....he needs to look good for my parents :goodvibes.
