"You don’t pay until you verify your order. Pre-ordering at BOG is not like mobile ordering elsewhere." What do you mean please? I clicked on the pre order option on MDE and BOG does not appear. Does it only appear at certain times of the day or is there another way to place an order? We have...

How much cheaper could I have made it?

You asked how you could have made it cheaper.... - We are DVC members and because of that we try to go every 2 to 3 years. We try to save the costs as follows:- Gatwick airport hotel - stay in an offsite hotel that includes parking for 14 nights and airport transfers. Gatwick airport parking...

Just doing Harry Potter--a few questions.

In the UK we can buy a 2 park US/IOA ticket for £227 and it allows entry to both parks (and Universal Bay when it opens) for 14 days. It seems really good value compared to US prices.

Best way to get to Aulani from UK

We went to Hawaii for the second time in September 2015. We flew London to LA to Honolulu (about a 20 hour journey but I prefer the 'out trip' to be done in one go). We spent 12 nights in Hawaii but 7 of them were on a NCL cruise, the rest were at Aulani and we are already planning a trip back...

    Ready for the Off!!!

We leave Wednesday - the day after tomorrow! This trip has been booked in our heads since 2011 and booked for real since last September when the flights went on sale. There are 6 of us travelling. DH (57) and me (56) (flying from Gatwick) and friends who are 37 (her), 39 (him), 12 (their...

Putting together a foot care bag for WDW

What is moleskin and what do you use it for? And what is body glide? I've never heard of body glide. Moleskin is something that you can make clothing out of here! Just curious

    Mugs at Leaky Cauldron

I wish they'd sell you the mugs without the Butterbeer!!! I bought one in 2011, took one sip - it was disgusting!! Far too sweet and sickly and I ended up heading for the nearest restroom and pouring it down the sink! The mug came home with us but got dropped and broke a few months later...

Cabana Bay to Gringotts, 8/4 report

yes that's what I want to know too. We're there in 8 days time and can't decide whether to do IOA and ride over (IOA opens at 8am) or wait for the 9am opening at US. Need some advice from those who have tried it!!

    Post from Hogsmead

We last went to IOA in 2011 and were able to buy stamps and post a postcard home from Hogsmead (and get a special franking on it) Does anyone know if you can still do this?

    HP Merchandise?

I'm going to be interested to see if they have more or less stuff than the store at the Making of Harry Potter Tour at Levesden Studios in the UK (where you can see all the original sets and the 'real' Diagon Alley and Great Hall etc. I have a T shirt from there and I would like to get...

    Driving in Florida!

the RAC, AA and DVLA websites all say that while it is technically not needed the hire car companies may refuse to pay if you have an accident and don't have one. For £5.50 is it worth the risk? You can get it from your local post office. From the AA website "USA (Florida) Compulsory IDP...

Why does the School Schedule have no Summer

I've just read this whole thread and am totally shocked at the difference between the US/Canada and the UK - and by the views of parents the other side of the pond. In the UK the children get 6 weeks off in summer, 2 at Easter, 2 at Christmas and 1 mid term in February, May and October...

    important additions to packing list

Why go on holiday to clean the room??!!! That's just madness to my mind. If it isn't clean enough ask for a change of room or for the problem to be addressed - don't clean it yourself

Worried about the heat in August

Definitely good advice there. We're about to go back for the 12th time and this will be the 5th time we've been in August. The only other advice I would add is to take a T-shirt to wear in the water if you are going to the waterparks. No-one will mind you wearing a shirt on the rides (I...

Harry Potter, the good, the bad and maybe some ugly.

We'll be there in 4 weeks time and are really looking forward to seeing Diagon Alley. We have been to the studios in the UK where the films were made and have seen the real sets from the movies. They do a Harry Potter tour and we spent 5 hours there on 2 occasions I am hoping it isn't so...

Dodge Minivan for 8 people? Help!

Try driving in the UK if you want scary. Cars go faster (90mph), roads are smaller and in our experience US drivers licence are more considerate than here. But wherever in the world i drive I always wear, and make everyone else wear, a seat belt.
