OUR EXPERRIENCE - DDP ressie for 4, but had 5 AND paying for 5 with only 4 on DDP

Those who see rules in black and white will never agree with those who see that a variety of shades of gray can also be fair and ethical. It doesn't make one right and one wrong - just different. Want to know how to brighten someone's trip? Find someone in line at a snack cart and pay for...

OUR EXPERRIENCE - DDP ressie for 4, but had 5 AND paying for 5 with only 4 on DDP

Technically, he used the appropriate number of credits for the appropriate meals - didn't try to use CS for TS, Child Credit for Adult Credit, or anything else that would othewise "cheat" Disney. Relax folks and let's thank the original poster for pointing out the flexibility and common...

    Drop the DDP?

Keep the plan. We just got back and used the DDP after riding the fence for awhile. Snacks and a counter service or the cost of a buffet covers the cost of the dining plan for a child for a day. We ordered what we wanted when we wanted it and offered to pay out of pocket whenever we were...

Should the price of the DDP be raised so that the quality can return?

I think assumptions are being made that the DDP and change in quality/quantity of food are linked when they probably aren't. I think the DDP is to offer people another choice and to make it more attractive for someone to stay in a WDW resort and eat on site instead of staying and/or eating...

Adding Dining Plan to Existing Reservation

Yes, the small print "subject to change without notice" applies and with the new "system", changes won't be made to packages after the package code expires. However, I was politely persistent, and Luke was persistent with the "keepers of the magic codes" and I was able to add dining to my...

Adding Dining Plan to Existing Reservation

Apparently since a systems upgrade yesterday, guests are no longer able to add the paid dining plan to existing "closed" (I'm assuming within the paid in full period) reservations. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to add paid dining plan to a reservation that begins on 11/3? Thanks...

Adding Dining Plan to Existing Reservation

Apparently due to a systems upgrade yesterday, one is no longer allowed to add the Dining Plan to "closed" reservation (I guess within the paid in full window). Does anyone know how to add the paid dining plan to a reservation to commence November 3? Thanks for your help!

Kids Dining plan question-called Guest Services

Yes, that's the way it works for the airline industry and many other resort option vacations with all inclusive options. $39 each way, $359 round trip - the same bag of pretzels and softdrink are available. Fair or not, Disney is offering an all-inclusive option. Period.

Warning: New Menus for Kids at Some TS Restaurants

I think the issue is in variety - if they offered children's portions of the adult meals, or just more choices - my kids get sick and tired of eating the same three things all week so we end up getting adult meals for them or eat at more buffets.

Why do servers need to know if you're on DDP?

I would think that the servers need to know so that they can explain what's included, what's extra, etc. so that there aren't any surprises in the end.

    Servers tips on Dining Plan

With all of the discussions regarding how much the wait staff receives in tips from those on the dining plan, I'm surprised I haven't seen clarification on how the tip is calculated. The dining plan costs $39 per day per adult and $11 per day per child. Disney advertises this to be a 40%...

Will Value/Mod Be A Letdown When We've Only Stayed Deluxe

We've stayed at the Poly, All Stars, Contemporary, and next trip will be Wilderness Lodge. Our stay at the All Stars wasn't disappointing, just different - different in a way that you can't really compare a stay at the Marriott to a stay at the Days Inn. The All Stars was what we could afford...

    Resort wear

Check the weather before you go and consider the climate you are accustomed to. Our trips are always in the November/early-December timeframe. I describe the weather as "brisk" as we refer to it in the south. Shorts and a tshirt with a light jacket that could be tied around you waist...

    Just back--kids and clothes report.

Nothing better than folks taking a list of suggested attire for WDW or the WDW cruise and make it into a dress code fit for a nice restaurant in Manhattan or Washington DC. Why do the nicer restaurants in Manhattan or Washington DC have stricter policies? These restaurants are trying to keep...

    Polynesian Pool Problem

I can't say that it's ever crossed my mind to "pool hop". When we stayed at the Poly, we swam at the Poly. When we stayed at the All Star Sports, we swam at the All Star Sports. Seemed simple enough to me. But if it is ok to stay at Pop Century and swim at the Poly for convenience sake...

Ladies' ballcap left on during dinner

I have a couple of friends who are cancer survivors and both have had various hats, scarves, and just plain "thin hair days". Also, while Disney has nicer, sit down, table service restaurants inside the parks and resorts, I think a lot of the etiquette police forget that the property is still...

    Cruising with 2 y.o. triplets-am I crazy?

If you need to extend your vacation before the kids are completely potty trained and can do well holding hands so that you don't need a stroller at all, go to the beach. Otherwise, cruise when they are 3 1/2 - 4 years old or older. We've been to Disney annually since they were three years...

What's the worst experience that you have had on your cruise?

I was kind of thinking the same thing. We've been known to camp out, too, for a decent spot to watch the parade and why wouldn't I make room for a child? Because your family had sat for two hours while the other family was enjoying Disney? As long as you use your manners, your child can...

    Tipping Topic

Our party included several elementary-aged kids and wow - I wanted to bring the servers home with us. They cut the kids meat, fixed their baked potato, made sure that their plates only included the things that they wanted on it, had fruit waiting for the kids when we arrived for dinner, etc...
