teenager taking forever in shower,,ideas on how to limit time?

We give them a '2 minute warning' when showers go too long. After 2 mins, they get a nice COLD PITCHER of water poured on them. So usually the 2 min warning prompts them to evacuate the bathroom ASAP.

Is there really such thing as no cost refinance??

We refinanced with our existing lender - CHASE. They also offered us a no cost refi 30 yr 4.5% with NO closing costs, fees, appraisel, etc. Notary showed up at our door. We signed some papers and it was done. Our mortgage is now $300 less/month but we plan on paying our regular payment PLUS...

    Need REFI - MORTGAGE help!

Yes... I meant to say that $245k was the PURCHASE price. We put 5% down, took out a 15% piggy back loan to avoid PMI (paid off promptly) and have since carried the remainder 80% thru Chase. So it was 80-15-5 split. The mortgage amount NOW is based on the 80% portion of around $196k. With escrow...

    Need REFI - MORTGAGE help!

Jenny - I just want to kiss you! :flower3: Thank you. When I started reading what you said about Chase - I thought - OH NO. She's gonna tell me it's a scam and run for the hills!! This really does make me feel better. I played "CSI" with the Chase guy and asked him "Are you SURE???" and "What's...

    Need REFI - MORTGAGE help!

This is what the Regions guy said. So I can't personally confirm it since I haven't run the numbers. I plan on calling him tomorrow and confirming this. Thanks for the thought!

    Need REFI - MORTGAGE help!

When we initially called Chase and inquired about a refi - we spoke to 2 different people. Both offered higher rates than what local banks were offering plus HIGHER closing costs. We about wrote them off until an overnighted fedex letter showed up at our door. From Chase. With a "special offer"...

    Need REFI - MORTGAGE help!

Thank you!! :goodvibes My husband works really hard! We've been very blessed to have the income of being able to beat down our mortgage PLUS still have extra fun stuff like trips and a boat (paid in cash). I do cut corners in a lot of other areas though: I'm an avid couponer and CVS'er, clothes...

    Need REFI - MORTGAGE help!

Sorry... I did leave that part out. We've been throwing bonus checks at our principle any chance we can. That's why it's been aggressively beat down. But his job security is an unknown factor (like it is for everyone right now I suppose).

    How I'm saving with popcorn

You don't need an air popper or paper bag to pop popcorn... just like a previous poster said, just get a big pot (like for soups, etc) with a lid. Pour a little oil on the bottom, just enough to coat. Drop a couple of kernels in. Once they pop, add about a cup of more kernels. Let them start...

Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 6

Found this on another blog... so true!! Ohio Buckeye said... So bogus... all of it: The oh-so-romantic vow renewal (complete with scripted "I promise to ask, 'Kate, how can I help you?'" vow no less - barf), then the abrupt blitz move to the manse (both within months of ending their...

No biggie... I think if I would've started off with the K20d, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. ;)

    Jumping Ship

Groucho: I did exhaustive research on trying to fix the back focus issue on my own. All I kept reading was having to put my K10d in 'debug' mode, download a program and wish for the best! :rolleyes1 And after reading repeatedly 'do this at your own risk' I wasn't too overly confident about...

    Jumping Ship

I was going to get the K20d but I felt unsettled after talking to the pentax service dept. I wasn't going to give up my main walk-around (sigma 17-70) and thought if something happened on a k20d with my sigma lens, then I'll be in the same boat. They just didn't give me too much confidence...

    Jumping Ship

I was the opposite. The nikons felt more intuitive to me (kinda like apple computers). I could pick up the nikon cams at the store and automatically tweak the settings. The canon cams I had to sit and think about. To each their own.. thank goodness we all have lots of choices! :rotfl:
