I agree. We always end up paying more for any Disney vacation because we can only vacation during peak times, a.k.a when school is on break.

At what age are kids allowed to check themselves out of clubs? I heard it is as young as 8. I am concerned about my nearly 9 yo checking herself out and roaming this massive ship. Anything could happen, ie predators, getting lost, general safety issues. Does DCL really allow this?

I'm confused. I thought you could not use the gift cards on the ships. We are giving my 8 yo (will be 9 then day after debarkation) gift cards in the months prior to the cruise, but we were under the impression that she had to put them on the onboard account and use her KTTW card to buy things.

Yes. Those are what I am talking about. I thought they might use them because you will use them on the ship and at the parks if you get a package. I wish they would because they would be much more convenient than the KTTW cards.

We were considering this excursion but it says for ages 10 and up. Does anyone know why? My daughter will be 9 the day after we disembark, but she kayaks with us frequently, has her own kayak, and even kayaked on the bay at LBI this summer. I wonder if they make any exceptions to the age limited.
