Here now...want to know what we're eating?

My wife and I celebrated our 20th recently at V&A's and enjoyed it very much. This was our second visit and we plan on returning. The meal and sevice were all we expected, however the coffee service left a bit of a sour taste. We chose the Kona at an upcharge of $12 and our server Bob...

    Fort Wilderness Cabin

When our kids were younger we loved the cabins (dubbed "Loggins" by DD). Having the full kitchen and seperate sleeping spaces were real plusses, as was the grill/patio and front door parking. We always had a rental car and found it much more efficient for most travel compared to the busses...

Dining recommendations - based on fun not food!

One more vote for The Hoop Dee Doo Revue. It's a great show and the food, while simple, is very good. I'd also recommend The Adventurer's Club. Hard to describe, but I love it.

I wonder if this happens at the Landry's in WDW

The restaurant isn't making the server pay for the restauant's card processing fee, only a portion of the 3-5% fee charged to process the tip. The restaurant is paying 3-5% of the total including tip & tax and asking the server to pay about half the fee to process only the tip.

If using the DDE card, is the tip now included?

We recently returned from a MLK extended weekend trip and found a couple of issues with the new auto-tip policy. The first, and most easily dealt with, was when checking in with the host/ess. They would ask if we were on a dining plan. The first couple of times we said that we were using the DDE...

Dining suggestion before 6pm Cirque show?

I'd suggest House of Blues. It's right there, open at that time and we love the food.

Things not going well with the DDP changes

I'm curious about the "old" DDP's gratuity. Did the server get 18% of the menu prices (less any tip-out)? While that would be what Mickey would do, I'm not so sure that's what Mikey (now Bobby) would have done.

DDP, ten year old, and kid's meals

Our DD is now 12, but still prefers simpler food, and not much meat. She's often ordered from the kids menu, with no problems. When we've been on the DDP we paid OOP for kids meals and after a few been able to go to a 2credit restaurant. Last month we were at the World, using DDE, and while...

Older kids eating off a parents plate??

The recent trouble was in an "all you care to eat" situation where I'd expect to pay for an older child eating off my plate (but not an under 3 year old). When ordering off a regular menu, you get one order of food and can share as you please, unless there is a "shared plate" policy.

    question about kids TS credits

My understanding is that a child credit is only good for a children's menu selection (if available), while an adult credit may be used for a children's menu selection. What we have done in the past (w/ 2 adults and 2 "Disney adults") is pay out of pocket(OOP) for any kid's meals, saving those...

    Another DDE Question

You may not still have your receipts, but our experience was that the "final" receipt that you would sign (we charged) showed a total, a space for a gratuity and a space for you to write the grand total. Another slip had the details, including the 20% discount of the pre-tax total and 18% of...

Anyone still buying the DDE card?

We just returned from a MLK extended weekend trip and found a couple of issues with the new auto-tip policy. The first, and most easily dealt with, was when checking in with the host/ess. They would ask if we were on a dining plan. The first couple of times we said that we were using the DDE...

Older kids ordering off the kids menu...

A suggestion if you are on the DDP: If you have an older child that prefers a kid's menu meal, pay out of pocket. Using an adult credit for a kid's meal is almost never worthwhile, and after a few meals you will have enough credits for a signiture restaurant. We have done this many times...

    ? about AP rates

Here is a link to Mousesavers showing past dates of AP rates, as well as other discounts, being offered: http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#codetrends If you really want an AP discount, and are a little flexible on your dates and/or resorts, I'd say hold off on making a...

Q about annual pass discounts on rooms

I'm pretty sure: 1. Florida Seasonal Passholder can get AP rates. 2. The rates are often the same as FL resident rates. 3. The 20% dining discount plan is calle the Disney Dining Experience (DDE). 4. I think it is both ~$60 and $85, passholders get a discount. 5. www.mousesavers.com is a...

    Polynesian Air Conditioning Question

I think the balloon by itself would do the trick. The A/C would keep it moving enough for the motion sensor. I can't believe they don't have a switch tied to the privacy bolt on the door that would let the room know someone was there.
