New Zealand Dec. 25 2022 report

We added two extra days to Queenstown before leaving on a Saturday. The main purpose was to fly-cruise-fly to Milford Sound on the day everyone else departed. That did not happen due to the rain that morning and all Milford flights were cancelled for the day. I did see several buses heading out...

New Zealand Dec. 25 2022 report

Excellent e-bike writeup @Eastridge ! 100% spot on with the skill level assessment. It was a lot of fun for my 14 year old daughter and I, but we both have bikes and e-bikes and use them regularly. I am thankful my wife chose the extended Arrowtown option though, as she had a bike injury due to...

New Zealand Dec. 25 2022 report

Another post for hikers, walkers and runners. I don't want to steal @Eastridge's Queenstown report, but just want to point out the Frankton Arm Track. I ran a good portion of it three times while there and it's wonderful for that or morning/evening walks along the lake. It starts on the...

New Zealand Dec. 25 2022 report

We did not receive a duffel bag, just a backpack. On a US ABD trip last year, we did get the duffel bag. As far as St. Moritz and heat goes, if the forecast says temperatures will be much above 65F/18C, I'd recommend asking the front desk for a fan as soon as you get off the bus. We did that...

New Zealand Dec. 25 2022 report

I asked Kira for her favorite restaurant at Franz Josef, and the Alice May was it. They were only open for dinner, and we did not have a reservations (probably did not need one?), so we went with Monsoon, where the guides had made reservations the day before. While Monsoon was fine (more fried...

New Zealand Dec. 25 2022 report

One addition to @Eastridge 's excellent Franz Josef report for any hikers or trail runners. With the afternoon off, it's also a good time to get a hike or a run in, whichever you prefer. For me it was a trail run and I chose Callery Gorge...

New Zealand Dec. 25 2022 report

Fellow Dec 25 traveler here (Michael)! You're doing a great review job with this one, balanced, fair and spot-on. For any foodies out there, I would like to add that my wife (a foodie) was not exactly impressed with the overall food offerings. Granted, we're the frequent Disney cruisers, and...

Barcelona arrival - taxi to airport

Just got around to reading the replies here, valuable information. Thank you all! We do plan on being first (or within first 20) off the ship, so I think we'll wing it with taxis and beat the long lines.

Barcelona arrival - taxi to airport

After arriving in Barcelona for the Dover-Barcelona reposition cruise in August, we need to head straight to the airport to catch a flight. Our plan is to be first off the ship with our luggage and catch a taxi. Are there any "gotchas" we should be aware of in Barcelona? This is typically easy...

Magic cruises Dover to Barcelona August 3-10, 2015

Greetings all. We will be part of the Dover-Barcelona repo cruise. It's my wife and I, plus our then-7-year old daughter. This will be our 5th Disney cruise total (last as Silver!), first one in Europe. We'll also spend 6 days before in the UK and 5 days after in Paris. For those who have...

Barcelona - catch 9:20 am TGV?

Thanks all for your input. After more thought and your inputs, I think we'll play it safe here and take a flight around 11 am instead.

Barcelona - catch 9:20 am TGV?

We're headed to Paris after leaving the Dover-Barcelona cruise in August 2015. I'm looking at taking the 6.5 hour TGV train ride, which leaves Barcelona Sants at 9:20 am. I realize this is a tight schedule, but think it might be possible if first off the ship (7:30-ish?) and no airport-like...

**** Vancouver FAQ Thread **** A few updates in main post!

For $2/MB, I'll gladly go the SIM card swap route (I don't care about voice). Thanks for the info.

**** Vancouver FAQ Thread **** A few updates in main post!

Has anyone covered Vancouver cell usage in this thread? ATT Canada plan versus SIM card swapping. I suspect the latter is the cheaper/better route, but has any posted details regarding that in Vancouver?

Book online, apply OBB afterwards on phone?

I have an OBB with dummy booking. Can I book the desired cruise online at full price, then calll when operators are available and apply the OBB in retrospect?

    2015 EBTA sail date

Icelandair gets you relatively cheap back to Boston or JFK via Reykjavik (similar dates this summer show about $520/person). I'm looking at about $800 back to TX. But outside of Icelandair, the prices are essentially double (yes, for a one-way...).

2015 OBB discount Blackout dates from DCL per TA

Thank you all for clarifying this to a DISboard newbie! :-) Great news! It sounds like you all have TA's on-call. Is there a benefit to that? I just book through the website or call Disney directly.

2015 OBB discount Blackout dates from DCL per TA

Guess I need to rephrase my newbie status... :-) I'm looking into booking my 5th cruise and have a 10% (or whatever) on-board booking discount for a future cruise....does this mean if I want to book the eastbound on Thursday (still Silver) I can't use it?
