Beware! AC Moore items ringing up MUCH more than shelf label price

I'm glad I'm cheap and observant! Be careful when shopping here! Both items I purchased today scanned almost double the price listed on the shelf label for that item. (Items were not individually priced with stickers, which, BTW, is illegal in my state.) Is this how they're making back...

    Any trouble with refurbished Ipods??

We usually buy hard cases (on Amazon or whatever) to protect the Ipods, so we probably wouldn't be able to see the engraving anyway. It is worth spending the few bucks (paid $15 for our last case) to protect it from drops. (They ALWAYS get dropped!) You/he may end up doing this too, so the...

    Any trouble with refurbished Ipods??

Nope. All fine - and we've bought several different ones over the years. Good luck! It's nice to save a few bucks on these - you really can't tell the difference with the refurbs from new...

Cheap but GOOD way to clean VERY grungy cherry wood kitchen cabinets?

I can't stand it anymore! There are food/drink splatters, etc. (we aren't just talking fingerprints, here!) Especially on the cabinet door with the trash can behind it...Ick! Double ick!!! Obviously, I need to protect the clear wood finish, but don't want to have to scrub this gunk until...

Fruit of the Month? Anything like this?

My 2 cents... Our widowed senior citizen neighbor receives fruit via Harry and David's from his children. Got to tell you, we end up with a lot of it. The quantities are just too large (at least the ones they order for him) for one person to eat before the fruit spoils. Fred (our...

50% off Xmas stuff already at WoD/NYC - saw it 12/14...

We were in the World of Disney NYC store yesterday and most of the Christmas items are already 50% off - ornaments, stockings, and tree skirts were specifically listed on the signs. Not sure if the sale just started, but the racks looked packed with stuff and not picked over at all (yet)...

OT some what- how would you handle this

This seems to me like a great idea - and you will learn a lot about your 13 yr old's feelings from the answer he would give you on it. (Make sure you let him think about his answer - don't push for an instant decision, just because you stumbled on a great game deal.) Also - be aware - kids are...

Polar Express Lincoln, NH... Sat... offer...

What a shame! I hope someone can use these tickets and hotel for you. Is this the Comfort Inn that is adjacent to the parking lot for the (Lincoln) Polar Express train? If so, that is VERY convenient... just walk across the parking lot to the train! I hope someone on the DIS or CL comes...

    Club penguin dolls

Welcome to the laws of supply and demand! We got ours at Toys R Us about a month ago (the store, not online) for $9.99 each - but even the first weekend these came out they didn't have a huge supply. We also bought several Puffles then too (for 5.99 each, I think) and I've heard recently that...

    Just got gift from parents.

Wow, I got a card...just like every year. :worried: Except when my mother forgets to mail it. Then...nuttin'. But, in the 23 years we've been married, she *never* has remembered just when DHs birthday is... (a week after mine) so, he doesn't even get a card. Sometimes, she remembers the...

Polar Express - NH - Worth $60 pp for premium seats? UPDATE#39!!!

The volunteers were all terrific! (And we really loved passing the neighbor waving to us with sparklers from her front porch!!! - Both ways!) The warmth and friendliness of all of the participants was wonderful. I'm a former (really anal about detail) event planner and (truth be told!) am...

Polar Express - NH - Worth $60 pp for premium seats? UPDATE#39!!!

No - Woodstock, NH. The railway station that this Polar Express leaves from is practically on the border of Lincoln, NH and North Woodstock, NH. The Woodstock Inn we ate in is less than one mile from the train station. Much closer than we would have guessed! (But far away for you - sorry!)

Polar Express - NH - Worth $60 pp for premium seats? UPDATE#39!!!

Post-trip update: In a word - magical. In two words - breathtakingly magical! Did our Polar Express trip tonight (Lincoln). Snow falling during our entire trip - a totally great experience with our premium seats. Kids were entranced. Had a great pre-trip lunch/dinner at the Woodstock...

Do Kenmore brand vac seal bags work with Food Saver?

Thanks, I'll check the prices at BJs next time I'm in there. I did see some Rival brand bags for the vacuum sealers in a local grocery store today, and that box said "works with other vacuum sealing systems" but the Kenmore box did not say anything like that. Which is why I'm unsure...

    Amazon vent- Beedle the Bard

Yeah - don't you love the "Budget Board" where we all find fun and exciting new ways to spend even *more* money! :lmao: Sorry to hear of the difficulties with your book packaging - that version does seem particularly lovely - your DD should love it!

Do Kenmore brand vac seal bags work with Food Saver?

Hey - was in Kmart this a.m. - clearing them out of the last of their half-price LED xmas lights :rotfl2: and happened to see the Kenmore (Sears) brand of bags for vacuum sealers - they were on sale. The Food Saver ones right next to them were not. I need refills for our Food Saver - anyone...

    Fun Adult Board Games?????????

Killer Bunnies!!!! (sounds strange, but it is oodles of fun!) Even our teen and her friends come over to play it. We also take it to our friends' houses when we visit and always have a great time. It's about $20. Available on Amazon. If you haven't heard of it, check it out...

    Amazon vent- Beedle the Bard

Don't know yet for Beedle - but can't imagine it is too different. (Haven't opened our copies and won't until 12/25!) The British/US versions of the Harry Potter series of seven books of course, are essentially the same, but the British words like "jumper" for sweater, "cellotape," "flavour,"...

    Amazon vent- Beedle the Bard

Here's the link. It is easy to order - and this copy cost us about $15 USD. It does take a couple of weeks to receive it by Royal Mail, so get your order in fast if you're looking for a Christmas delivery. There is a fancy copy of the book for a lot more, but would make a lovely gift...
