We are planning a long weekend trip with a family of 11 (multiple generations). Grand Villas are available at both AKL (Kidani) and GF during that time and we are willing to spend the points. We booked AKL Savannah view as we are owners and love that resort, but if the GF villas are amazing...

Michael was our guide in Peru and we thought he was great! He's been a guide for a long time and is really good with all the adults and kids.

One item it took that the entire group appreciated was aloe. Even though it wasn't super hot people got burned. There wasn't a place to buy more until cusco, so I recommend bringing this. The guides had sunscreen but not aloe.

We loved Michael in Peru! He found out on our trip that he was going to be doing the Scotland tours starting in the spring.

We went to a travel clinic before our trip and got the Typhoid and Hep A. In addition, they gave us antibiotics "just in case" to take with us in the event we had digestive issues with the food etc. (take that & immodium together). I also got the Cipro for potential altitude sickness - but...

Actually they did mention both of those as food sources on our trip to peru. We even had alpaca on the buffet menu multiple times.

We are close to booking summer if 2015. But we are still evaluating our options. We loved peru, and everyone that had done multiple abd's said this was the best!'

How do you transfer a reservation? I'm used to the DCL process and have previously either booked directly on board or the first time was through a travel agent. We are planning on a spring break cruise with RCL and I think it would be easier for me to book online today then transfer to...

Do you have to sign up to be an insider, or do they automatically consider you an insider if you have taken a trip?

We heard about it, but never got it. So I'll be curious if anyone else received something.

We loved Peru! We didn't want to do Europe or the US as we felt we could plan a great trip on our own (for less cost). But to a more exotic locale we wanted ABD. Tried for Egypt but that isn't happening for a while . Peru was great, and airfare was reasonable.

Bobo - sorry to hear that. But when we did this for our trip a few weeks ago, the pricing was roughly the same as I could do direct. And it made it easier to ensure the same room for both nights. They had a service person meet us, arrange for a luggage porter, and take us to our transport...

If you are doing pre-days I would do the abd hotel as you then get the transportation which is key in arriving in Lima. I would say not as much for the post stay. We took it easy our pre day and visited the pyramid. I've also heard good things about the light show. As most flights arrive at...

And we had a solo traveler on our trip last week and he had a blast. The kids tend to hang together and he was very friendly and so was the rest of the group. We had a few adult only couples and one single traveler and it worked out gret.

FYI - you don't need to use points to get the DVC price. We just got back from Peru, got the DVC price and paid cash. So that's an option.

We just got back from the trip last week and it was fantastic! It was our first ABD ( But we are DVC, and have done DW/DL/DLP/DCL) and it was better than we hoped for. We are now deciding on our next trip :). Happy to answer any questions that folks have for this.
