Once Upon a Time Projection Show to replace Celebrate the Magic

I'm rather happy to see something new.. Also wouldn't it be fairly quick to switch between shows if they ever wanted to? I like the idea of variety where they could rotate a bunch,

I am SO excited about this! I can't wait to see the new projection show! I wasn't a big fan of Celebrate the Magic. Don't hate me, but I found it kind of boring.

Glad DD and I got to see it one last time in Dec. when we made a quick trip to see our last Osbourne Lights:sad1: This is one of our favorite things as well, she will be sad to hear. I am sure the new one will be good, but as others mentioned, CtM made me so happy:goodvibes, I would watch it before Wishes, and stay for the second showing if possible! We always recommend it to all newbies! Hopefully they will keep the Christmas add-on which we love as well. I have the video on my phone, but not quite the same as laying in front of the castle, feeling the magic up close!:tink:

Well I'd imagine the MK version won't be in Japanese.

Ok, I chuckled a bit to myself the idea they would literally take it from Japan and start it in Florida with no changes to language or anything

That said, I am excited they are adding something new rather than taking things away (looking at you MSEP) - and also if this is one thing they are bringing from Tokyo Disneyland that maybe it increases chance of them bringing over their night-time parade

We aren't getting DreamLights. TDL is revamping it and adding floats for next year and in anticipation of TDL's 35th Anniversary in 2018. It has been stated that there is currently an unfunded design for a new night-time parade at Magic Kingdom which may debut in 2018, but most likely not before that. There most likely will not be a placeholder night parade until this new parade debuts, although there has been discussion of Festival of Fantasy running at night.

This show blew me away. It was easily my favorite show over Wishes and Fantastic. I am glad my dad got a decent recording of it from our FP+ viewing location.

But really 1 week notice?

It looks like this will play AFTER Wishes, not before. And, quite a bit after- the dates we are there, Wishes is at 10pm and Once Upon a Time is at 10:45pm. I'm hoping they just put that time as a placeholder and will adjust it; keeping the kids up for a 10pm Wishes is already pushing it!

I know you probably won't like me for saying this but its disney, and its vacation let them stay up late. I also don't think this will change, this will stay as an after wishes show.

With my kids, it's not a matter of letting them stay up late- I'm all for that. It's that they will be begging to leave so they can go to bed! My kids are weird, haha. Last time they started the begging 5 minutes into Wishes, but I selfishly made us stay until it was over.

Okay, I know some parents are very strict about bed time. Hopefully they'll want to stay up so you can see this show.

We're strict at home, but not so much on vacation. It will be our only really late night, so hopefully they can tough it out! If not, I'll just have to take an adults-only trip down soon :D

Does anyone know why Disney pipes the music for Wishes / Fireworks to various locations, but not the video projections?

I would assume this is because the castle projections can't be seen from all locations. Wishes can be seen from the Poly no problem. A projection show not so much.

Thanks Rteez,

We sometimes watch Wishes from the top of the Contemporary where you can clearly see the castle. But it makes sense that you probably can't see it from anywhere else.
