Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I'm throwing some TP together and working on 12/2 at MK - AM EMH day. It says I'm utilizing the 8am opening, but then tells me the wait for POTC at 8:11 am is 53 minutes since the ride doesnt open until 9. ummmmm...no :rotfl:

Ive had TP throw out some strange waits too. I'm most unsure about what they are telling me waits will be on Thansgiving day. 30minutes for Jungle Cruise about 6pm? And it won't let me choose the time I am doing the Candlelight Processional, we are doing the 8:15 show and it keeps trying to make me go to the 6:15 show :confused3 But I'm just using for a rough estimate of what I would like to do, I'm fairly sure we will get distracted more often then not.

But POTC isn't open for am emh.

uggggh I was looking at the evening list without even realizing it :crazy2:

Guess we will use that EMH hour to do favorite attractions in tomorrowland!

Thanks for pointing that out!!!

I only learned that not everything is open during EMHs about 2 weeks ago. It was quite upsetting to learn. :badpc:

I am also hoping to exchange one of mine for ROL if it ever shows up!

Another fun new (for us) thing we are going to try this trip is checking out the fireworks from the Polynesian on one of the MVMCP nights. That fireworks show is so incredible so if I can get a second glimpse at it from there I will be super excited!
I am hoping to do ROL on arrival day if it opens up. Otherwise we will cancel a park day and just hang out at AKL... but it feels like a great way to start the trip. Fingers crossed!

I just realized I never gave any room preferences when I booked. Is there any point to doing it now, or should I just wait to do the TP fax request?

Being a newbie, I don't think I can comment on much there. Besides the lack of AK, it looks like a nice trip! I have 2 long days in a row, so we are going to be pushing through it too.

We have a lot of the same plans. EMM on 11/29, Epcot on 11/30, HS on 12/2 (I have a brown derby F! lunch, but looking for a dinner instead). While you are at universal, that's our MVMCP night.
Thanks! I just don't have time for AK...maybe next trip. And I'm glad I'm not the only one doing a crazy day or two. I see other people's rest days, and I think "Oh man, that's a great idea"...but maybe hanging out at a monorail resort bar will be enough of a rest for me. See you at EMM - and Epcot - and HS!

I'm not sure if there is any benefit to checking in early. I've always gotten the room section I've requested and usually do it one week out. We always get lucky with getting an early check in too (arriving around 10-11AM). One time we were really lucky and got a free room upgrade but we think that was because it was two weeks after the Boston marathon attack and we were from the town that was on lock down :scared:. Or maybe they were just being nice and that room was available. Scoring a room steps from the bus stop after a long day of walking can't be beat though!

Do you usually request through TP or call Disney to have the requests added to your reservation?

I only had used the "Room Preference" drop downs they give you when doing online check and always got the section requested and very close to transportation.

We did online check in like 6 weeks early last year. I got my requests - ground floor lake view at pop. But man was it the farthest freaking room from the main hall haha!

I need to figure out what we want this trip at sports. I'm think far from the football field in the center in case the pop warner crowd arrives early. We just want a ground floor!

That's how I did it too :) but I don't have super picky requests. I know lots of people have success using the faxed requests using TP.

Last year our room wasn't ready until almost 6pm. I was not pleased! We took off for Disney springs for a few hours but relaxing and settling in first would have been nice. Hope this year it's ready on time...

Ugh, that is much too late! I guess I have been lucky getting ours early...hopefully that streak continues. As long as I'm close to a bus stop, I don't care much about the room since we spend so little time there. Anything that minimizes the walking makes us happy.

I didn't do any room requests on the check-in because I don't want any of those for CBR. There's bus stops all over so close to transportation is a given. I don't care if we're upstairs and I know they'll put us in a room with a Murphy bed given that there are 5 of us. All I care about is being reasonably close to Old Port Royale - I am putting my eggs in the TP fax basket, and asking for a room right by the bridge.
