Cabana Bay or Royal Pacific

Help! I have such a dilemma...currently booked at Cabana for next week, but have the opportunity to stay at Royal Pacific for $400 more. My kids are 11 and 9 and the Cabana resort looks so much fun for them. I couldn't really see any good pics of the pool at RP. Is it worth the $400 to move change resorts?

Yes. The express pass is worth it. The pool is great at RPR. You can always pool hop if you really want to. RPR is much closer to the parks too.

I would consider whether the unlimited express pass would enhance your trip. For me, it is by far the biggest perk to staying at RP. That said, next week isn't projected to be very busy. It is nice to have though.

You can still go use the Cabana pool and lazy river, if that is the draw. The RP pool is big (not deep), and it has a play area that is a little young for your kids. The pool area is gorgeous though. The lazy river appeals to me more, frankly, but the express pass appeals to me most of all. Second is the easy boat transportation or walking path.

It is a no brainer. I would always pick a hotel with express pass if the price was within our budget. All the pools are great and you can always pool hop if it's important to you. Less time spent in lines will mean more pool time.

I agree that Cabana Bay looks like more fun...the lazy river! the slide (no slide at RPR, BTW)! bowling! But I love RPR for its theming too...so lush and peaceful. As others have implied, I think it comes down to how much time you are going to spend at the resort vs. the parks...if it is the parks, I would go for the Express Pass without a doubt...even though you might not "need" it, it is always a better experience with it. If you plan to spend a decent amount of time at the resort, I would consider staying put at Cabana Bay...

There are some pool pics in the second post in this thread. And others of the resort itself.

I can't say anything on RPR yet since our first stay will be this October but we stayed at CB and we loved it from the lazy river to the diner and everything else the staff was great and the rooms were clean for us. The reason we are staying at RPR is something different and mainly the EP .

We just got back from RP. Absolutely loved it. Rooms were a little small but manageable. Our week was supposed to be slow , but was pretty crowded. It seemed most of the people were from Great Britain. I think this might be a popular time for holiday before school starts back. So we were very glad we had express. It made a big difference.

Ok ......
So when is your next trip....
