We are looking to do a Disneyland/Hawaii vacation this fall.

Trying to decide between this:

2 full days at disneyland and 6 full days at Aulani/hawaii

-or-

3 full days at disneyland and 5 full days at Aulani/hawaii

It will be 2 adults, 3 yr 9 month old ish and 9 month old ish

we have been to disneyland before kids and go to WDW alot.

Depend on what excites you more...theme park or beach vacation? Two days can be tight at DL, 3 days is MUCH more relaxed pace to get everything in...however 6 days on the beach sounds great right about now!

We like a lot of days at dlr. I get bored on the beach. It's kind of up to how you travel & what you prefer.

We aren't beach beach people but plan to sight see in Hawaii and not just live on the beach.

Leaning the 3 days since with the hassel and expense it feels more worth it. Plus we can get to Hawaii early in the day thier time so hopefully will have some of that day.

If you stick to Oahu then you can probably see the major sights in 5 full days. I wouldn't try to visit the other islands with such a short trip.

That is a long flight for 5 days on the beach - I'd do the 'get there early their time' situation. Also, DLR is going to entertain your young kids far more than Hawaii. Our kids are 12 and 13 and we are just beginning to consider a trip there, considering the length of travel time you sort of have to stay long enough to get that bang for your flying time!

We're not beach people and spent a full week on Oahu but no more than just a few hours on the beach. There's a lot of non-beach stuff to see like Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, Polynesian Cultural Center, Bishop Museum, Iolani Palace, just off the top of my head.

I agree. We went to Hawaii (and Aulani) for the first time 2 years ago and were amazed at all there was to do on Oahu. Just beautiful. And the resort alone will keep your children fully entertained if you want to take it easy after DL. I personally would opt for 3 days DL/5 days HI because it feels like it would allow it to be more relaxing, less choppy, if that makes sense.

Have fun! You can't go wrong with such great destinations.

It is still a long flight - regardless of what you are doing. But that is just my opinion.

I reluctantly vote for 3/5 as well, only because both are worthy of so much more time.
For Pearl Harbor, order your tickets for The Arizona 2 months in advance so you can pick the time of day you want to visit.

Thank you for the top on The Arizona :)

As someone who went with a 10 and 12 year old I would NEVER take my baby and toddler to Diamond Head. That is a huge hike if you have to carry a kid. I can't imagine a 3 1/2 year old on that. My friend's family and my family went to HI together and since her kids were 4 and 6 this was something we did alone. I was VERY happy she opted out.

We aren't planning on Diamond Head this trip, will save it for when kids are older. Found some hikes/walks that are stroller and little kid friendly that we want to do instead.

Awesome! We loved HI! We did 6 nights and booked it very last minute (my friend who we went with is a travel agent and we got in on the deal when Delta had a glitch. Planned this trip in less than 30 days) and stayed in Waikiki. There was so much to do but I don't have a lot of advice since my kids were much older. Went to Germaine's luau and my son (the 12 year old at the time) won the all male hula review. He wore the coconut bra and hula skirt. It was such a funny and great memory!
I so want to go back one day and stay at Aulani. Wasn't in our budget since the trip was so last minute.

It is only in our budget because we are DVC members.

Definitely look at Kualoa Ranch for a day trip. Just beautiful and many activity options.
