I'm plan on renting a minivan to drive to Florida. 11 nights in the end of October, I'm getting a price from AAA hertz for $434. Any where else is ranging from $590-$1100. Is the $434 price too good to be true? I've never rented a car before so I'm not sure of the process.

Being the $434 is already the lowest should I expect it drop the closer we get?
Since you are renting from home and driving down, you are not going to see the crazy low prices that people get when renting at MCO so a price of $434 seems quite good. I would book it and keep checking back to see if it drops any lower but I would be satisfied with a $434 price if it didn't go down any more.

Something you will want to check, on a rental from home, is the amount or mileage that you get with the vehicle. Airport locations and tourist areas typically will give you unlimited mileage, whereas local rental locations tend to have a daily mileage cap (ie: 100 free miles per day with a per mile charge after that).
Also you may want to check if there is any restriction about taking the car out of state. Some companies have no problem with this but others will charge a surcharge or a higher daily rate.

Thanks for the tip. I contacted AAA and they said there are no restrictions for going out of state and unlimited mileage. So I think I am good!
AAA rental partner around here is Hertz.

Current rate via Alamo and VROOMVROOM for June 5-12 2016 is $300. Aside from watching for coupons to finally come out. Am I likely going to find a better rate? I know a couple years back I used the same code and could never touch the price with the other vendors.

7 passenger mini-van: P/U & D/O @ SFB, 9/27 thru 10/4 thru Alamo using insider log on and $30 off (AD2338fdf) for $192.58!!

When should I book for June 2016? So far EZ is the cheapest for a 13 day rental $494. Is this a fair price?

Got a mini van out of MCO for 3/11/16 thru 3/19/16 for 303.91 - using Brazil Vegas - 7016427. Best I have found so far but will keep looking

Has anyone rented a van with Advantage before? I'm seeing $236 for a week in June, Dodge caravan. This is beating my current price at Alamo by about $70, but I've never used Advantage before.

Has anyone rented a mini van from Enterprise lately? This is our first time renting a mini van, we have always rented mid or full size but we have a toddler and grandparents this trip and a mini van was cheaper tan 2 cars especially with the additional driver. Just wondering what type of vans Enterprise usually has. Are there usually options other than a Caravan?

Just booked minivan withAlamo for 14 days sept 4- sept 18 for $397.03 with all taxes. Is this a good deal? I used contract 7016220 (Visit Orlando Website) and AD2338FDF Visa

Is the the car agency where you can skip the line and go Right to cars?

Also got dollar for $383. I'd like to skip the counter and go to the car line though!

Basically that's about $200/week, which is a great price for a minivan in my book. I've used both agencies and had no problems with either one.

With Alamo, you can checkin online and then go straight to the garage. They used to have a policy restricting those with coupons attached to their reservation from checking in online, but I don't think this is the case any longer. Worst case is that you can checkin at the kiosk and then go to the garage and pick your car.

That is a great rate. I tried those codes for a May mini van reservation and they are pretty much in line with what I am seeing through Costco.

If my memory serves me correct but there were issues with this Vegas Brazil code. I believe because it included the CDW. I remember discussion about this last year

used the $30 off code (AD2338FDF) and the Visa (7014926) for an 8 passenger mini van 3/11 thru 3/19 for 252.33. - It was the same price using the Visit Orlando code

The Vegas Brazil code usually includes CDW. No one really knows if that is an issue or not. Probably because no one using it has had to use the CDW coverage. Some people have been successful in getting a Vegas Brazil that doesn't include CDW, but most have not.

Bumping....hoping to find deal on a minivan for our April vacation

We used the Vegas Brazil code. We are renting April 15-25 but in Ft. Myers and our rate was $289. We are thrilled since our airfare from Hartford to Ft. Myers direct was $236. I feel like I won the lottery. Added to the fact that I stay at my sisters house so free lodging! We started with a minivan from enterprise at around $750 and then I we tried the code and it came to $350 and then someone else posted that their rates came down and they were able to use the $25 coupon.

We rented a van last April thru Enterprise. We like a smoke free car. We flew into Tampa. The first van they had waiting for us smelled like an ash tray. They brought us to another one and it stunk as well. They upgraded us to a Traverse which my husband loved since it was more comfortable but 5+ beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas and a beach bag do not fit well in a traverse. I don't know if there were other options then the Caravan because those were the 2 or 3 smelly cars they showed us.
