Official January 2016!!!

My FP day is tomorrow (well, tonight) for the first part of our split-stay. I don't do them at midnight, and tomorrow I have to be at school for PTA stuff from 7:30-12:00, so I won't actually do them until the afternoon. Not such a big deal since it's just DH and I in Jan., but I have fun making them so I still am looking forward to it :goodvibes

You shouldn't have an issue doing them later. I was messing with mine much later the next day and everything was still available A&E, sdmt, the parades and wishes. January is coming really fast!!

I'm sure I won't :) It'll be our 6th trip with FP+ and I've always gotten what I wanted late morning so afternoon should be fine! Even for our Thanksgiving trip coming up, I was able to swap something for an additional 7DMT about 20 days out. I've never had to try for A&E though! Glad you got what you wanted, and yes January is coming fast!!

Just booked a last minute trip!
1/18-1/20, staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. We have a 1 day park hopper which we plan to use on 1/19 and visit as many parks as possible.
I might add a second day and use it on 1/18 to go to MK. MK has EMH and is open until midnight on 1/18.
We planned a good bye late lunch at Disney Springs on 1/20.
I think FP+ should open up soon for us!

So excited for our trip this year! My Mom turns 50 this year and as a birthday celebration the whole family (all 19 of us) will be going to Disney 01/04-01/11. She hasn't been in almost 15 years so she is pretty excited! It's also my first trip with my boyfriend and we will be staying at Pop Century! I'm over the moon about it!! :cool1:

Well we passed the FP+ booking date last Friday and we are into the home stretch. I'm having a hard time containing myself as my kids don't have a clue.
As I stated in my into to the boards here, I haven't been back to WDW since about 1989. I remember at the age of 11, having a Figment hat with the giant brim! Now as an adult, married and with 2 kids (8 and 5) of my own, it's about time I take my wife and children on a trip filled with Magical Memories.

We'll be going down in January (in line with my Veterinary conference NAVC).
Flight: Check
Rental Car: Check
Fairy GodMailer Request: Check
5 Day Park Hoppers: Day 1 EP AM / MK PM, Day 2 MK, Day 3 OFF (open) AM / HS PM / EP Illuminations, Day 4 AK, Day 5 MK AM/ HS - Fantastmic PM
Treehouse Villa at Saratoga Springs
ADRs at T-Rex (dinner), BOG (dinner), CRT (lunch), HDDR (dinner), SciFi Dine-In (dinner)
FP+ Day 1 MK: BTMR, POC, HM. Day 2 MK: SpcM, 7DMT, BLSRS. Day 3 HS: TSMM, ST, Frozen Sing Along. Day 4 AK: KS, EE, FoLK. Day 5 MK: SplM, A&E, 7DMT

We are going to tell the kids at Christmas. My wife went all in and created a photo book of the planned trip using shutterfly that will be wrapped and under the tree. I can't wait!!!

Greetings, the dibb (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=835236) is showing that Illuminations isn't available as a fastpass on January 25, 26, and 28. We are outside 60 days, so it clearly isn't an issue of the FP's being all taken. Furthermore, this is in contrast to days surrounding it that show availability. Has anyone seen any indication that Illuminations is dark on these dates or any other reason why illuminations would be showing up as it is?

Day 5 – Animal Kingdom
CURENTLY we have an ADR for 8:20am Tusker House BUT...we MIGHT change that to the Dining with Animal Expert at Saana (sounds awesome!)

The Dining with an Animal Expert IS awesome! I've done it 3 times so far, and each time I learn more and different things.

Count me in for January! We were going to surprise the kids with a trip to a Star Wars weekend in May as a Christmas present, but that plan got derailed when SWW were cancelled. So we decided to move the trip up to a January weekend in hopes of hitting Season of the Force activities. We'll be there January 22-25. This will be our first time at POR...so excited!! Our plans: Friday - explore POR, swim if possible, see YeeHa Bob. Saturday - HS, packing in as much Star Wars stuff as possible, dinner at 50's Prime Time, hopefully adding in an ADR for a Star Wars Fireworks Dessert party when it gets released. Sunday - MK, possible dinner at Tony's unless I can get BOG. Monday - 'Ohana breakfast with Lilo & Stitch, explore Disney Springs, then go home. Can't wait! Now to plan my FPP selections since the window opens in 2 more days!!

One more thing: is anyone here doing a Memory Maker share? Or interested in starting one?

Hello, fellow veterinarian! I have been to NAVC a few times...what a great conference! No NAVC for me this year, but we will be at WDW Jan 22-25 (also a surprise Christmas present for the kids.) We did a NAVC/WDW combo trip a few years ago with my son who was 5 at the time and have been hooked ever since. I hope you have a wonderful time!

Hey there yourself! Always nice to meet another veterinarian. I'm a little worried it will be too cool (temperature wise) in January - but I hope the thinner crowds make up for it. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and trip yourself. It sounds like you've got a good one planned.

I am just posting to say that today we payed off our January 2016 trip to WDW! Such an exhilarating feeling (and relief!) A few times I was worried we weren't going to be able to finish paying it and have to cancel. party:

Congrats!!
I have to say...car repairs have made me very happy that in 2016 the changed it to 30 days before your trip to pay off rather than 45 days...

So excited because my trip originally planned for end of December almost got cancelled...but luckily we were able to re-book a trip for a couple of days after the original dates! Now officially going first week of January!! So so happy:jumping1:

I am in. Booked POR 1/12 thru 1/18. So looking forward to this trip with my daughters. :)

We (a girlfriend and myself) are doing a "Girls Only" long weekend January 14-19! We are staying at POR with a 4 day park hopper pass. So excited to leave the kids and hubby home for some girl time!!! Any fun ideas for two ladies??? Would love to hear them!

Hello all, new to this thread.
I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we just booked a last minute trip for Jan 1st-6th. We usually plan at a minimum of 6-8 months out and book as soon as we know our dates. Booking 28 days out is insane for a planner like me, I've never planned a trip so late.

We are staying at Coronado at using Disney transportation exclusively this trip, something we haven't done for a while. I'm kind of excited to be fully immersed in the Magic again. We did a week at Universal this summer and it was amazing! As much as Harry Potter and the Wizarding World speaks to me and mine, we felt the pull of Disney and longed to go back soon. I am totally shocked it's this soon however, and with such a short window of time to plan! I did make our fastpass reservations and am now looking at dining. Crowds look a little crazy the first half of the trip but I think we can manage.
