Blisters :(

I haven't found anything other than good shoes/sock to help prevent blisters, really, but the Band-Aid brand Blister bandaids are really good for actual blisters. I had some pretty horrible ones last October, I put the bandaids on and I never felt my blisters again.

I have one sort of odd tip for preventing blisters. DON'T get a pedicure before you go on your trip!! Pedicures remove all of the calluses you have on your feet, leaving thin, tender skin behind. Calluses serve a purpose - they form where your shoes tend to rub, and if you remove the calluses, your feet are unprotected!

I know it sounds weird, but it's something that most folks don't think about. Callused feet might not be pretty, but they hold up to all-day walking much better!! :)

Something else I find that works to protect emerging blisters is lambs wool . It is basically a long spool of a cotton ball-like material but is VERY soft. You can hold it in place with medical tape, which stays better than band aids. You get lambs wool in a drug store in the first aid section.

i agree with those that recommend Body Glide. I went with DD, 11, the week before labor day.

Our feet blister easily so i was very worried about our trip to Disney because that can ruin a trip. It was DD first time so we had alot to see with little time to relax.

We used Body Glide every morning all over our feet and between our toes. Hopefully you can get it on Amazon or a sporting good store. It's wildly popular with athletes in my area and Dick's Sporting goods only had two left. I bought them both.

Body Glide looks like a solid deodorant stick. It was not sticky in fact you don't realize you have it on.

We walked all day from morning until park closed for 6 days.

Not one blister -not even a feeling a blister was forming.

We also changed our shoes -never wearing same pair twice in a row. I brought my tevas and nike air rifts.

I bought a pair of go walks with memory foam but i didn't like them. My feet aren't wide but they felt too tight with socks and without socks they squished around on the plastic memory foam pad.

DD loved the go walks and wore them on the trip switching off with her underarmor sneakers along with a good pair of cotton socks.

Good luck!!

If it is sweaty feet that may be the cause, have you tried good flip-flops or sandals? I can walk a lot in my Reefs. If you carry a backpack, switch out to a pair of solid flip flops to let your feet air out for a while then go back to the tennis shoes with a fresh pair of socks. Can't hurt to try it.

Sadly, moleskin and bandaids never work for me either. Slip and rub right off.

Try Leukotape, http://www.amazon.com/Leukotape-Sports-Tape-15-Yd/dp/B00UG6OUEK.

It is designed for sports taping and comes in generic beige. It stays stuck MUCH better than molskin or bandaids, is thinner and easier to work with.

It will eventually roll off with serious rubbing, but handles moisture (feet sweat, no getting around it) and friction much better. Easy to remove, but can leave a tiny bit of tacky adhesive behind.

I use it before I head out to protect the spots where blisters often show up & other friction points. I've even applied it to the insides of shoes to smooth out rough or pointy parts.

I have a roll of it in my my luggage and have pre-cut pieces in various sizes and stuck to plastic sheet tucked into my purse so I can have them ready to slap on at the first sign of discomfort. It even works well when I apply it to *slightly* damp feet.

Bunions make shoe fitting rather difficult and preventing blisters is a constant battle. I swear by Birkenstocks (aka birth control shoes, as they are so unattractive) but I can walk all day in them. I have several pairs. :)

HTH, & good luck with your feet.

I second the suggestions to use Body Glide. Also go to a runners store and get wicking socks that runners use. I really like Wright Socks. Plus change your socks/shoes part way through the day.
