It's My Birthday & I'll Disney if I Wanna! ~ A Dec 2015 PTR - COMPLETE!

Just joining in. Your first day plans look amazing. I love that you can use FP before the party officially starts. Do you know if you can get FP during a party? I really hope you can get on SDMT. The face painting is super cute. I never knew you could do that. The Candy Cane Cutie is a perfect choice. Sounds like a busy first day.

Your plans sound like perfection, of course!

Fingers crossed everyone is on time and the traffic gods are kind to you!

Yum, LOF never disappointed! The MYO pasta station and burgers were always good!

I'm with you on the hustle up to MK. Our first FP+ window closes at 4:30 so we'll be doing the scramble too. But we're going to have to agree to disagree on Small World. It's in my top ten rides at the parks and I really don't get tired of the song. Play it, again! :rockband: :cloud9:

But I promise I won't make you ride it with me if we're at MK together next October!!

It sounds like a great plan for the rest of the Christmas festivities. I'm looking forward to the short lines! We loved the dance parties last year so I"m hoping to hit those too. And a few character meets too...those 5 hours will go by fast!

Excited to read about Day 2!

I'm not a terribly long drive from Disney, only 5-6 hours, depending on traffic. (I've made it in 4.5 hours before when I was being super speedy and didn't run into any traffic jams.) It's a pr

Fingers crossed you won't run into traffic issues like your last trip! :tinker:

And then proceeding down the driveway to...

I loved rolling up to AoA! So exciting!!! :goodvibes

Ya'll know I GOTS to go get my Christmas facepaint on!!!! (For anybody who cares, should these still be the same options when I get there, I'm leaning towards the top row, 3rd column, "Candy Cane Cutie.")

I looked at all the choices before I finished reading this paragraph and totally picked the Candy Cane Cutie out for you! Yep, that's Billie for sure! :cutie:

Your first day plans look terrific! There's nothing like kicking off a trip with a holiday party! So excited for you!! October is flying by!

The face painting looks like fun. I think either choice the candy cane or holly are both great. I am an early morning person. I like to get going sooner rather than later. Hopefully you will get on the road as planned. This will definitely be a busy day.

AH! First day plans look great! I really hope you get in your ride of 7DMT! Ummm Pot Roast Mac and Cheese, YUM! I may have to add that to my list of foods to try, sounds YUMMY!

I love that you make such good detailed plans for your days!

So jealous you are that close to Disney!!!! Of course my bank account would hate me if I could make it that fast ; ) Our best friends are going to be moving to Savannah soon, so some flights to there and then a drive to Orlando may just get me more of them and Disney ; )

Your first day plans sound great and I must admit I admire your restraint in not going to see the room right away. And on the face painting i totally vote for the
Christmas Kitty. I had to do a double take on it as it totally looks like an elf just crashed into the ladies face ; )

Great FP Selections! I'm sad you didn't get 7DMT, but I guess that's just more reason for your aunt and uncle to return in the future, right?
I love your new magic band design! It has a tropical feeling which I love! I didn't know you could use more than one magic band during a trip. Do they all have to be activated?

Wow your first day is packed! I hope you all have enough energy after the drive down! But I guess arriving at Disney brings you endless energy, at least for me. It just revives me after I pass through the WDW gates!

I like the Candy cane face paint!! I think it's really cute. Hope you survive it's a small world!

Your day 1 looks great! I need to start figuring out our days, of course we aren't up to FP+ yet, and my husband would call me insane for figuring it out, so maybe I'll figure it out and just not tell him!
Yes yes yes! I fully support this! Do your planning on the downlow, if it makes you happen! What he don't know won't hurt him! :rotfl:

Oooo---AoA! I promised my BFF that wouldn't stay there until we go together. I'll be SO excited to see all your pictures while I bide my time until I can see it for real!
I promise to take tons of pics, just for you, Lori! ::yes::

Yes! Candy cane cutie is perfect! Love it! I love that you love getting your face painted. I can't handle stuff on my face, but you'd fit right in with our face paint loving girls!
Good, you can adopt me since I'll fit in so well! :D

Billie!!!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously cannot believe how close this trip is! Your FP selections are awesome! And your magic band skins I'm super jelly of! :thumbsup2 Day 1 plans sound amazing!!! I wandered over to AoA back in May from Pop - I only wished I had actually eaten there :rotfl: That resort is just so impressive - I can't wait to read about your experience there. :goodvibes Less than 60 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:
Yaaasssss! So excited! I'm so looking forward to staying there. Speaking of reading, are you ever going to continue you May TR, girl? :confused3

I love how close your trip is getting because that just means mine is that much closer...LOL! :) I can't believe I'm 37 days away at this point because Keith and I started talking about doing this trip back in April of last year! I think I might be approaching the officially freak out time before the trip. I looked at the calendar and between the kids' schedule and everything we are crazy busy...guess it's good it just gets the trip here sooner. :)
Normally I love my sedate boring quiet single life... Except for when I'm counting down to an approaching Disney vacation. Then I'm kinda jealous of ya'll with busy families and lives and stuff to make the time pass faster!! :-)

Ok I never thought I would be asking this question, but do they offer non-holiday themed facepainting too? Not seeing many options for boys but if I could find DS something he'll like well then I might as well get a crystal snowflake too...
They do! I just happened to find a pic of the holiday options and that's what I'm going to want during MVMCP. They offer lots of non-Holiday ones too, though!!! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great first day plan
Thanks! Just hope it all comes together! :goodvibes

Hi there! :welcome: There's no FP after 6:30pm on a party night. That's why I had to do all three of mine for 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30 respectively. Try to squeeze them in before the cut off!! :thumbsup2

Your plans sound like perfection, of course!
I hope they work out as perfectly as I've planned them! :P

Fingers crossed everyone is on time and the traffic gods are kind to you!
Eeeek, yeah, I'm really worried about this. When I first planned this it was supposed to be just me and I planned on being on the road by 5am, or maybe even doing my thing where I drive down the night before and crash in Kississimee so I'm not so rushed the next day. But I don't want to ask them to do either of those things. So hopefully it all works out! :scared:

Yum, LOF never disappointed! The MYO pasta station and burgers were always good!
Maaaaaan, I'm a pasta girl. I'm so ooking forward to that MYO pasta station! Yum! :D

You can have it! I'm not a fan! :rotfl:

But I promise I won't make you ride it with me if we're at MK together next October!!
That's cool. While you're riding that, I'll run and get my face painted. :thumbsup2

It sounds like a great plan for the rest of the Christmas festivities. I'm looking forward to the short lines! We loved the dance parties last year so I"m hoping to hit those too. And a few character meets too...those 5 hours will go by fast!
If I were alone I would do more character meets, I think my fam will be more interested in short lines for attractions, though. Which is fine by me! ::yes::

Excited to read about Day 2!
Coming up tomorrow!!! :cutie:

Fingers crossed you won't run into traffic issues like your last trip! :tinker:
Thank you!!! Last trip was on a Saturday night, where as this is Friday early afternoon. I HOPE that makes a difference! :scared:

I loved rolling up to AoA! So exciting!!! :goodvibes
I toured it from the Pop-side last time, so it will be exciting to pull down the driveway like a REAL honest-to-goodness guest there! :goodvibes

I looked at all the choices before I finished reading this paragraph and totally picked the Candy Cane Cutie out for you! Yep, that's Billie for sure! :cutie:
Hahaha, it's the cutest!!! :cutie:

Your first day plans look terrific! There's nothing like kicking off a trip with a holiday party! So excited for you!! October is flying by!
Not fast enough! Come onnnnnnn, November!

The face painting looks like fun. I think either choice the candy cane or holly are both great. I am an early morning person. I like to get going sooner rather than later. Hopefully you will get on the road as planned. This will definitely be a busy day.
I hope we get on the road as planned, too! I got no time to waste on DISNEY DAY!!!! :goodvibes

AH! First day plans look great! I really hope you get in your ride of 7DMT! Ummm Pot Roast Mac and Cheese, YUM! I may have to add that to my list of foods to try, sounds YUMMY!
Gosh, that pot roast man n cheese has been on my Must Eat list for over a year now! I hope that I finally get my mouth on it! Om nom nom! :D

I love that you make such good detailed plans for your days!
Because I'm BORED and I'm OBSESSED. :rotfl:

So jealous you are that close to Disney!!!! Of course my bank account would hate me if I could make it that fast ; )
My bank account is the ONLY thing that stops me from going more often than I do! Stupid MONEY.

Our best friends are going to be moving to Savannah soon, so some flights to there and then a drive to Orlando may just get me more of them and Disney ; )
Seems totally legit to me. :thumbsup2

Your first day plans sound great and I must admit I admire your restraint in not going to see the room right away.
It's going to KILL me. Honestly, a big part of me is hoping that the rooms aren't even ready yet, so I don't have to fight to urge to go check them out. :scratchin

And on the face painting i totally vote for the Christmas Kitty. I had to do a double take on it as it totally looks like an elf just crashed into the ladies face ; )
Yeeeeaaaauh. That one's a little too intense, even for me. :rotfl:

Great FP Selections! I'm sad you didn't get 7DMT, but I guess that's just more reason for your aunt and uncle to return in the future, right?
Exactly! But I have a feeling we'll make it on at some point. If not, no big deal. :goodvibes

I love your new magic band design! It has a tropical feeling which I love! I didn't know you could use more than one magic band during a trip. Do they all have to be activated?
Yes! You can add as many bands to your account as you like, and they'll work interchangeably! It's my understanding though that the long-range battery (for ride photos, etc) only works for about a year, so I retire mine after 12 months. :thumbsup2

Wow your first day is packed! I hope you all have enough energy after the drive down! But I guess arriving at Disney brings you endless energy, at least for me. It just revives me after I pass through the WDW gates!
Oh, it absolutely does! Cruising under that arch is like drinking coffee made from red bull instead of water. :rotfl:

I like the Candy cane face paint!! I think it's really cute.
Thanks!!! I hope it's still an option this year! :santa:

Hope you survive it's a small world!
You and me both. Maybe I should being my earbuds with me and try to covertly slip them on during the right and queue up some different music to listen to. I wonder if my aunt would notice...

OH my yes!! So many fun things planned! I really love your first day a lot. I've not looked at Friar Nook's, so will have to do that. Ahhh, face painting... I may need to do some pricing on that too. Might be fun for our party night. :)

Yaaasssss! So excited! I'm so looking forward to staying there. Speaking of reading, are you ever going to continue you May TR, girl? :confused3

I bet you are!!!!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

Oh, that little thing... :rotfl: I would love to. But I'm having a hard time getting re-motivated. :sad2: I'm actually spending ONE day at Disney next month (Epcot only) on a visit to see my dad who lives in the Tampa area. I thought that I'd do a mini-TR and see if that will get me inspired to re-start my May TR! Sound like a plan?! :thumbsup2

I have done travel day. The first park day will be a bit harder since I don't know what FP+ we will have yet, but I guess I can always do it and revise, mwhaha....

The prices are on that picture I posted, to give you an idea! There's a slight variance in pricing based on the complexity of the design, but the average seems to be about $18. I always budget and bring $20 for each Facepainting session that I plan on doing. :thumbsup2

The only thing I got out of this post was OMG YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY FOR A DAY NEXT MONTH?!?!? SAY WHAAAAT!?!?!

Now you're catching on. Just wait until you start packing in secret, too... :rotfl:

53 days until WDW! :hyper:
************************************

Hey, ya'll! :grouphug:

Thanks for all of the great feedback on Day 1! Time for Day 2 now, which will still be a full day, but the write up will be far more concise...

DAY 2 - Saturday, December 5 - Universal Orlando

Day%202%20-%20Dec.%205.png

It's going to be another long day with no break in the middle, but that's because we're leaving the Disney bubble for the day! I hadn't intended on doing this again this year, but Aunt Debby and Uncle Mark reeeeeally want to go, so I'm worked it into the plans. :cutie:

We'll start by waking up that morning, and Mark & Debby will probably just nibble in their room on breakfast stuff we'll bring from home. I might too, but I'm going to attempt to make it up to the food court at AoA, yet somehow I just don't see it happening. I have a feeling that this will be one of those mornings where I'll be leaning heavily on my bottled Starbucks from home!

Starbucks-Vanilla-Frappuccino.jpeg

Then we'll be in the car, and I'll be perfectly content with relaxing and letting my uncle navigate the nightmare that is Saturday traffic in Orlando. He's used to driving in metro Atlanta traffic, so he should be able to get us to our destination in one piece and without the anxiety attack I would be having. Because today we are off to see WIZARDS!

20140922_142901-1.jpg

20140922_110836.jpg

Unbeknownst to me, it turns out that Mark and Debby and huge fans of the films, and when they saw my pics from last year, they thought it was part of Disney and got all super excited about it. I didn't have the heart to tell them that it's totally separate and that a trip over there wasn't on the agenda for this trip... So off to Universal Orlando's two theme parks we go for the day! The plan is to be at USF for general public opening at 9:00am. We'll stop for lunch around mid-day, either at the Leaky Cauldron or Three Broomsticks, depending on where we are when we're ready to eat. The Horwarts Express will whisk us from Diagon Alley over to Hogsmeade (in IOA) for the rest of our time there.

Since (1) I'm too fat to ride much at Universal, and (2) I'm really content to just soak up the atmosphere (and the BUTTERBEER), I'm going to kinda let "the kids" (Mark & Debby) lead the way on this day. I'll give guidance as needed, and otherwise I'll just be tagging along and make sure we stay on-schedule.

After they'd had their fill of "Harry Potter World," I'll cut them loose to roam and explore whatever else they want to see and do in these parks. My primary job at this point will be to make sure we are back in the car no later than 6:00pm. I learned the hard way that I-4 traffic on a Saturday night can get downright stupid, so I'm giving us plenty of time. If there's no hold-ups and we make it back to the Disney property in plenty of time, then we'll head back to our rooms at AoA to freshen up. If not, then we'll head straight to...

...For our 8:10pm dinner ADR at...

Where I'll say WHADDUP, BRO! to an old friend...

And then, after our long day in the Wizarding World, we shall FEAST like Polynesian kings and queens...

Then we will slow-waddle our way back out to the car, and back to AoA for (hopefully) a good night's rest to prepare for the next day. :goodvibes

Yes, in Harry Potter World there is a lot to absorb even if you can't ride the rides. I just love it. This will be the first time for my kids and husband to visit.

On Forbidden Journey I came within seconds of needing the special bag. This is a third ride which includes Mission Space and Hulk that I recently almost lost my lunch. Old age is creeping up on me.

Hey there Billie! I'm still reading along, just haven't been commenting lately... I'm such a slacker. Anyhow, I saw this on facebook today and it cracked me up! Made me think of you. :)

I'm so jealous you're headed to Universal as well! I have not been there since 2010. I'm actually really just jealous about the frozen butterbeer. I love that stuff. I drink about 2 a day, and I don't even drink anything beside water on a regular day, and I don't really like sweet drinks in general. I like it better than lefou's brew.

Ohana! My favorite place! Can't wait to see your trip pictures!

I really want to do Universal, not quite enough to leave Disney for it, but once my minions are a bit older, and more then just minion 1 is big enough to do things at the parks we may end up breaking the bubble. Maybe during the 2018 trip (I've decided it is a birthday trip, I'm turning 40, I'm doing Disney!) or more likely the 2021 trip, plan ahead me? Never!

I am also jealous of 'Ohana, it was on my list to do on our second trip next year, which isn't happening now, we're doing Disneyland instead. It is already on the list for 2018, with my husband being pescetarian because of a weird meat allergy, it is the closest to a Brazilian restaurant I am likely to get...

I have to admit I'm also super jealous of you getting to stay at AoA, the minions all want to stay there, but we ended up at CBR instead.

I'm a big HP fan and would love to go to Universal just for that. But I get motion sickness very easily and wouldn't be able to go on the rides. Maybe I'll go to just soak up the atmosphere.

Great Plans!! :) I'm still a bit disappointed we are not making it to US/IOA this trip, but the tentative plan is for my sister and I to have a sister trip next October and we both love HP so it would be better for us to visit then since we will have the freedom to look around and soak it all in (and not worry about others getting bored).
