Parking Increase to $20 on 10/4 CONFIRMED

correct…they have no problems selling art of animation or caribbean…

is the "bargain" $351 rooms at wilderness lodge and $600 "club level" rooms at boardwalk, beach club, contemporary, animal kingdom, etc that don't have all the elite beating down the doors to drop $3000-$6000 a week for hotels with character buffets that you can't get into because they're booked solid at 180+10

As discussed before they raised those prices to make the DVC math look better, then sold the regular customers that used to fill those deluxe rooms DVCs, so now they have few consumers left for those now exorbitantly overpriced deluxe rooms and are left converting even more deluxe rooms to DVCs as they can't discount those deluxe rooms as it would wreak havoc with the DVC math..

People are grasping at straws to justify another hefty hike...

They will fail...unless fandom outweighs all reason.

I can't wait to see what goes on here when the daily rates/multi day are launched...it's gonna make yesterday look like Christmas.
Part of the strategy is undoubtedly gonna be to make these passes look like a great deal...

3 step process: nix no expiration to squeeze grapes there...raise APs independently...then go for the kill shot on a 10-35% increase on all limited commitment tickets.

Get your popcorn.

I think you forgot the "sliding scale" rates ... which on top of the big across-the-board rate increases (I speculate) will push a large number of days per year into the "gold" stratosphere ... probably to the point where a week-long vacation will be impossible without it falling on gold or at least silver days. In which case, then what? Besides booking your FP+ months in advance, you'll also have to commit to exactly which park on every day of your vacation, let them calculate which are "gold" days and then hand you a bill based on what days in what parks you decided 2 months in advance? And are all parks gold on the same day? You wouldn't think so but ... what a mess.

Hmmm...I never thought of them "driving" the rack rooms to DVC..then retroactively eliminating the rack rooms.

Does seem legitimate theory though (you would get more denials there than at a congressional hearing though)...
I guess the old mentality I still have says that they don't want to move too close to a "no rack" system...because it limits there PR/marketing machine...

But it would result in a locked in, lower cost, higher earning clientele.

Now Ima thunkin....

Yeah I thought you can if you are a florida resident

You can, i just bought mine in Sept and they take $20 a month after a ~$200 down payment. I'm not going for a couple of weeks, just have the pickup vouchers. I'm sure i will be given the seasonal pass and not the silver since i didn't pay the extra for it. It wouldn't shock me if they try to upsell me to silver when i go to pick them up.

Yeah I renewed mine in August so I am good till next year the price a month was going to be 194 for 4 passes which include the water parks I just think that now premium passes are not offering as much I mean with the money they are asking for you would think a premium pass would have something like a deeper discount on things like special events but I know that won't happen, what I did was put money down to bring the monthly price down so I guess I will continue to do it till I can't afford to do it which my cutout point will be once it reaches 300 a month even after I put money down that will be it for me, I'm hopping the kids would say yeah we have done everything so it's okay lol wishful thinking... guess I'm just trying to be possitive about it.

For Florida residents...

If my math is correct...and unfortunately it is...even a DVC discounted pass racks up to about $2500 annually for a family of four...

Starting price

Just a pee in the bucket in hollywood

Going back to the sports parking analogy it is not fair in many cases. In many cases the team does not own the parking lot the City or town does so parking fees are going to the City or Town and the gate price goes to the team. In this case it is all going into the same pocket.

But in cases that the stadium lots are owned by the team most are still charging at least $20.

Hollywood is correct, that's about one movie ticket each week. We would choose WDW.

They definitely aren't doing it to push people onsite since you pay for parking at the resorts too. There is no way around it at Uni.

I hate that about UNI, its all about space and super unfortunate.

It's not the $20 at the ramp and/or Resorts either. Its HP should not be crammed in corners. HP should have been a 3rd gate.

Just imagine UNI starting over southeast of the airport for example. You know-where they would need to remove the barbed wire fence and herd the cattle away.

How fun would that have been.

To be honest-they should have built a HP world/park there, and phased out the old ones into a huge City Walk around the lagoons. Harsh but IMO.

Unfortunately Universal just doesn't have that amount of land for these things. Walt was smart and bought as much as he could. Comcast came in after Universals old off land they previously owned that wouldve allowed for expansion. I would imagine Comcast wishes they had that land now.

Yep exactly what I was getting at, but hadn't heard about the land sell off. That was an unfortunate mistake IMO.

Any maps of that incident out there? Too late but interesting information. Like what was built there etc?
