Tables in Wonderland is now up $50/yr for both Annual passholders and Fla residents.

$100 to $150 for AP
$125 to $175 for Florida residents

Wow thats a big increase!
Is it still worth it? Certainly not as easy to justify.

Depends on how you eat and drink on property? For a family of 5 that goes at least twice a year, it is still a no brainer! That said, a 50% increase seems steep!

I think it will also depend on if restarant prices go up, especially all you can eat and prix fix.

I will not be purchasing TIW this year because of the increase. My family visits at least twice a year for 10 days or more each visit, but we have found ourselves eating more meals off property because of the cost and the limited menu options. We are not big alcohol drinkers (maybe a beer or two for my DH) and I would have to spend $750 on food just to recoup the initial cost. The special events are nice but I have found that none of them are ever scheduled during our visits.

x2

i really…really loved the program for about 15 years. But i'm out. Why i have to pay such a "cover charge" to pay at restaurants that have had ungodly price hikes coupled with "questionable quality" is beyond me.

I'm more disturbed by the questionable quality than the pricing. Small discounts on ho-hum food?

I like some places still but I can pay OOP for those.

When I first read about the increase I was in shock and at first didn't think I would get one for our trip in a couple of weeks, but since yesterday, we just booked a trip for Nov 28 to Dec 4 and we have another planned for early Sept 2016. So, knowing that I have 3 trips planned within a year, it will be worth it even with the increase. After that, maybe not so much.

One thing to keep in mind, Disney could also have special pricing for TIW in the future - much like they've done with the DVC AP's in past years or special ticket pricing - we'll see.

I think you just proved the harsh reality.

They jack prices and you signed up for more? Without even a second for breath or evaluation?

I mean...I do want to book trips...but the reality is I'm getting charged a ton for the same or less...and all this "new stuff" is nowhere close...has triggered the breathalyzer on my Disney visa.

And I concede your point on the promos regarding tables...

But here's the problem that few cared/believed me about years ago...the regular pricing is now off the charts and the promos will be used when the economy goes toilet and everyone is taking a hit...

Which means struggling to pay higher "discount prices" in many cases.

The $399 DVC annual pass ship has sailed...what's that "great price" now?

Actually, we booked the trip for Nov/Dec before I knew about the price increase - just read about it this morning. The trip next Sept has been in the works for a few months now and nothing is going to change for that. I don't like the price increases any more than anyone else. If I had known that TIW was going to increase in price on Sunday, you better believe I would have purchased it on Saturday.

As for any possible future discount prices? Disney is doing what every business these days is doing - increase the prices so that when they do offer a discount, the consumer thinks that they are getting a "deal".

Count me out! No longer worth the price for us we don't drink alcohol so no discount there, also don't utilize the free parking benefit....also not planing to renew AP.....

Realize I'm playing devil's advocate...so no offense.

But there's about 5 good "in theory" justifications in there.

Gonna have to do a lot of doodling to see if we get it again. Mine expires in a few weeks, wish I had an inkling, I would have gone ahead and bought again early. Disney Springs spots that accept it may be the deciding factor.

You know what I am having to process in my head is that even WITH the TiW I am starting to second guess my eats more and more. I am here for 10 days, offsite (WBC for a week then B Resort for 3 days). My B Resort was to enjoy DS some including eats. But then in all this I have booked 4 meals. BOG dinner (TiW) because DS really wants to see the Beast, BOG breakfast (no TiW) because I got a way pre-park opening time, Sci-Fi (TiW) as it's DS favorite and California Grill (TiW) because it's been years and he keeps asking to go back. That's it! I'm not really using the TiW to it's full potential this week mostly because even with the discount, I'm finding the Disney dining prices becoming more and more out of whack with the quality that is offered. Now if more places in DS start taking it - that would be a real plus as it's really going to be a big destination for us. Walked around last night on arrival and really was impressed so far.

You don't drink alcohol, I am guessing that you don't do a lot of shopping either, I think you just gave Disney part of what they were going for with this change.

This is the horrible thing about not only this increase to the tables card...but the restaurant scene as a whole.

I find myself watching/thinking about the costs far too often when it's supposed to be fun and leisure.

It's not really even a question of the money...it's the declining value and how that taints the experience.

I used to LOVE...I don't mean like...going to Olivia's for lunch or the concourse steakhouse in lieu of outback, Charlie's, or anywhere else offsite. Even in college or my later 20's...character play at 1900 park fare for breakfast was always a good time.

But now...as I've stated before...the highest compliments are now "the bill wasn't too bad/egregious" or "the food was surprisingly good"

The reality is I've outgrown the whole place...I'm 100% positive I'll be the last to know...but maybe sooner than I would have hoped.

Kinda funny but before I knew about this I was getting ready to write disney about giving florida residents a free tables in wonderland card. With table service prices in the realm of ridiculous(seriously who would pay $40 for a 10 year old to eat 2 chicken nuggets at a buffet) I thought this would help the locals offset the price of food that was raised to get people to do the dining plan. Instead they make it even worse which means they no longer want locals. It would take $750 in dining just to break even at prices 50% over market value. I live 40 minutes from disney. In my new and old neighborhood my family was the only one to go to disney anymore. It is just too expensive. Our passes just ended a week ago and we were debating but thanks to today's debacle disney just made up our minds for us. Thanks for the memories disney but I have had enough.

I think currently the only locals they want are the upper crust - typically older who live in Florida to evade taxes and for tanning purposes...with either younger extended families to spoil or a heavy consumption lifestyle...Lilly Pulitzer and tommy Bahama - pun intended.

When things go south...and they are guaranteed to...they'll crawl back to the rest of you.
