Chit Chat Thread - November ADRs...

Another H and V question:

With all the h and v holiday done times opening, I went to make a reservation and it won't let me do 5 ppl. But it will let me do split parties-- like 3 in one reservation and 2 in the other???
Should I do this or try to call? Or book 4 and 1 and come to the restaurant that way?
Thanks!

I have a similar question! I booked a CRT and mistakenly left my infant off the reservation. I'm searching for a 1 person reservation months later... Will it let me book a 1 top for an infant? Then can I call and combine the 4 top and the 1 top? Any experiences?

It seems that they opened additional Hollywood and vine dinners this morning. Has anyone ever seen additional times of chef mickeys or 1900 park fare open close to trip date?

In my experience, the restaurants that open up like H&V did are usually in parks (and the reason they often open up like this is that Disney decides to extend the park hours for a set of dates once they're getting close.) operating hours aren't the only reason a restaurant could open up a bit--another big component is service staff. if a restaurant is full, they might add more servers to get diners through a bit more quickly. but in my experience the bigger factor is operating hours, and since the restaurants you're talkig about are both at resorts, the hours are usually maximized already. plus, because they're both buffets, I don't think adding servers would have quite the same effect. so my guess is that you won't see a mass release of ADRs for either--what you could hope for is that people will give up those TS meals a bit more quickly if they can secure a meal in the park through one of those mass releases.

good luck :flower1:

Last year this time there was a massive release of 1900 Park Fare reservations. Not sure why or if it was a fluke but it definitely happened. So while I wouldn't count on anything it's definitely possible.

I'm having the same issue I'm hoping it's not going to be a major issue if I can't find 1

thanks for sharing this :) I was really only making a guess (an informed one, but still a guess). it's really interesting to know that disney was still able to release a mass of ADRs at 1900PF

I just finally scored a MM + Fantasmic! ADR. It says 1st showing for Fantasmic! but the only showing I see for that day's schedule (11/20) is at 7pm. I have one fast pass I might need to tweak depending on the actual showtime. Any idea when the actual 1st showing will be? Will they typically add a showing after the 7pm one or do they usually add a showing before the existing showing?

They 'open' suddenly because they finish their staffing schedules and part of what they will need is based on final resort counts after the 45 day cancellations. 1900 and BOG definitely opened but in the last 2 Novembers I never saw a Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, or CRT open en masse. Those three in particular seem to be consistently busy regardless of the season or amount of hotel guests so staffing is probably easier to roll out.

I really wish BOG would have all 3 rooms open at dinner. >:(

congratulations! the 7:00 F! will be the first one. if they add a second F! showing it'll be later, maybe 8:30.

32 days to go!! Last thing to do is pull the trigger on Memory Maker.
I am still debating on the MM myself. its just DW and I and not sure if I want to spend the money to get all of the pictures done.
However, if shes expecting by our Thanksgiving trip, just maybe the MM will be worth it then :)

What extra money will you have to spend? Aren't MM downloads free with the MM addon?
<- Newbie here... I'm curious as this is our first WDW trip ever and I'm doing MM too. Sorry if it's a dumb question.

Not a dumb question at all!! The extra money being the $170 for the magic maker it self. We havent purchased it and are still debating if itll be worth our 4 days there.

we always debate the cost of MM too, but in the end it always feels worth it. most of my trips have been with DGF only--if we didn't get MM we would only have individual photos and selfies. we usually make it a rule though that we can't pass a photo pass photographer, we have to stop for a picture (unless they have a long line). we end up with tons of nice pics.

Thanks for being kind ;)
Other than downloading photos after the trip are their other options for the photos or is it just up to you to have them printed where you want later?

i personally have never used the Magic Maker myself, so hopefully someone else can chime in.... but I am sure you could still buy them in the park or take them home where it will be MUCH cheaper to have them printed. I do believe the new revised App youre able to see them too? I couldve read that article wrong.

i can try to help: I have never tried to print my photos in the park, so I can't say if/where you can, or how much it would cost. i usually just download my photos when I get home. when you download the photos there are a bunch of options--you can add banners, character signatures, all kinds of things. I usually download all the photos, add fun effects to some of my favourite photos, then take the ones I want to print to Costco (cheapest photo printing in my area).

also, I don't know if this is clear: there are photo pass photographers all over the park to take pictures at scenic spots, but they're also at most character meets. plus you get all your ride photos too. and there are also a whole ton of staged character photos that will show up (which my DGF likes having for scrapbooking).
